Jordanian Minister of Awqaf Inspects Pilgrims in Mecca Jordan's Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Dr. Mohammad Al-Khalayleh, continued his inspection visits on Saturday evening to several hotels accommodating Jordanian pilgrims in the Jarwal and Al-Ma'la districts of Mecca. اضافة اعلان The pilgrims expressed satisfaction with the level of services provided, including food, beverages, and hotel accommodations, and extended their gratitude to the minister for the care they received. During the tour, which was accompanied by members of the media delegation, Dr. Al-Khalayleh listened to pilgrims' feedback and instructed the administrative and guidance teams to follow up on the pilgrims' needs and address any issues that may arise. Speaking to the press from one of the hotels, Al-Khalayleh confirmed that all Jordanian pilgrims are in good health and safe, with all necessary services readily available. He emphasized that the pilgrims lack nothing, noting that ministry personnel are on the ground to serve them. He also advised pilgrims to rest and avoid crowds and extreme heat during these days. Al-Khalayleh further noted that ministry teams are currently present in Arafat to prepare the camps ahead of the 8th of Dhul-Hijjah, when all pilgrims will be transported to Arafat to begin the official rites of Hajj.

The tourism sector has witnessed sustained growth during the first five months of 2025, marked by an increase in the number of international visitors and a rise in tourism revenues, compared to the same period in 2024, according to data from the Central Bank of Jordan and the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities. اضافة اعلان According to the monthly report issued by the Ministry, the total number of international visitors from January to May 2025 reached approximately 2.696 million, reflecting a 20.6% increase compared to the 2.234 million visitors during the same period in 2024. Tourism revenue during the first four months (January–April) of 2025 reached approximately 1.721 billion Jordanian dinars, marking a 15.3% increase compared to the 1.493 billion dinars recorded in the same period of 2024. The number of overnight tourists from January to May 2025 rose to 2.233 million, compared to 1.919 million in the same period of 2024, an increase of 16.4%. Same-day visitors also saw a significant rise, reaching around 462,000 visitors compared to 315,000 in 2024 — a growth of 46.6%. The report revealed that the highest growth in overnight tourists during the first five months of 2025 came from the Asia-Pacific region, with a staggering 101.5% increase. This was followed by European countries with 53.8%, African countries with 33.8%, American countries with 27.0%, and Arab countries with 26.6%. In May 2025 alone, the Kingdom welcomed about 571,000 international visitors, up 27.1% compared to 449,000 visitors in May 2024. Tourism revenue in April 2025 increased by 34.2%, reaching 503.6 million Jordanian dinars, compared to 375 million dinars in April 2024. This positive performance is attributed to various initiatives by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, including the development of tourism products, infrastructure improvements, enhancing the visitor experience, and expanding marketing campaigns to promote diverse tourism offerings in new markets. The growth is largely credited to targeted promotional campaigns in promising global markets, the resumption of several direct and low-cost flights, and improved accessibility to Jordan's tourist destinations. The Ministry continues to implement a comprehensive strategic plan aimed at achieving sustainable growth in the sector, increasing its contribution to the GDP, generating new employment opportunities, and enhancing the national economy. It also seeks to establish Jordan as a world-class tourist destination, promoting it as a country rich in historical, religious, and natural sites.

Jordanian Hajj Mission Pilgrims Begin Journey to Arafat This Evening - Jordan News
The Jordanian Hajj mission will begin transporting its pilgrims to Arafat after the evening (Isha) prayer today, according to the Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Dr. Mohammad Al-Khalayleh. اضافة اعلان The minister previously explained that Jordanian pilgrims spend one night in Arafat and two nights in Mina. Camps for Jordanian pilgrims in Arafat have been fully equipped with sufficient air conditioners, fans, refrigerators, and water coolers. Each pilgrim will also be provided with a portable and adjustable 'sofa bed,' along with pillows, bed sheets, and services for both hot and cold meals and beverages, Al-Khalayleh added. He noted that there are approximately 150 tents in Arafat, each accommodating a varying number of pilgrims — some for 50 pilgrims and others with double the capacity. Three dedicated medical clinics will also be available in Arafat for Jordanian pilgrims. During an inspection tour in Mina, Al-Khalayleh confirmed the readiness of the camps in terms of infrastructure and services, ensuring the comfort and safety of pilgrims while performing their rituals. He also emphasized that all logistical arrangements have been completed, including the provision of water, air conditioning, healthcare services, and medical teams, as well as accompanying religious and media guidance teams to ensure a smooth and reassuring pilgrimage experience. Mohammad Hakim, CEO of the Hajj Sector at Mecca Construction and Development Company, told Al-Mamlaka TV that the Jordanian Hajj mission will operate three service centers in Mina, staffed around the clock to handle any emergency malfunctions. Regarding meals, Hakim stated that breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided around the clock. As for electricity, he confirmed that power loads have been increased and tested in advance to avoid any outages during the Hajj season. Each tent in Mina accommodates around 35 pilgrims, with some tents holding up to 70, depending on location and size. This Hajj season, around 8,000 pilgrims from Jordan are performing the pilgrimage, in addition to 4,500 pilgrims from the 1948 Palestinian territories. They are accompanied by a mission of guides, administrators, medical staff, and media personnel dedicated to supporting and caring for the pilgrims.
