PANaHON: PAGASA upgrades weather tracker amid rainy season
State weather bureau PAGASA has upgraded its interactive weather tracker for more accuracy and accessibility.
The PAGASA National Hydro-Met Observing Network (PANaHON) shows near real-time information from PAGASA's weather stations across the country, displaying details on rainfall, temperature, humidity, and wind.
It also provides weather forecasts using data from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF).
Launched on Monday, PANaHON's enhancements feature gridded forecast integration, offering improved spatial accuracy for rainfall accumulation, temperature, wind, and pressure.
Users can now utilize its clickable grid points, time slider, and location-based search functions in navigating the interactive map.
All regional warnings are consolidated into a centralized alert system labeled in color-coded markers with hazard information, making critical weather advisories more accessible.
Using PANaHON, users can check current and forecasted weather conditions.
It can also help with early warnings and better decision-making during weather-related events.

ITCZ, easterlies, localized thunderstorms to bring rains over several areas
Several areas of the country will have rains on Monday due to an Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), easterlies, and localized thunderstorms, according to PAGASA's weather forecast. Visayas, Bicol Region, and Quezon may experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies affecting Visayas and the eastern section of Luzon. Moderate to at times heavy rains may possibly result in flash floods or landslides. Cagayan Valley and Aurora will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies. During severe thunderstorms, flash floods or landslides may result. Mindanao meanwhile will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the ITCZ. Flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms. Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon on the other hand will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. During severe thunderstorms, flash floods or landslides may result. Coastal waters will be slight to moderate in the whole country. Wet weather with localized thunderstorms in NCR, ITCZ rains in parts of VisMin
The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) is expected to continue bringing scattered rains to northern Mindanao and eastern Visayas while localized thunderstorms could bring rainshowers to Metro Manila and the rest of the country. According to the daily weather forecast of state weather bureau PAGASA released Sunday afternoon, the ITCZ is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms to Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, and Davao Oriental. Localized thunderstorms are projected to bring partly cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms to Metro Manila and the rest of the country, while easterlies could bring the same conditions to the Cagayan Valley, Bicol Region, Aurora, and Quezon.
