Moscow, Jul 24 (AP) The wreckage of a plane that crashed while carrying 49 people has been found in Russia's Far East, local emergency services said Thursday.
Russia's Emergency Situations Ministry said that they had found the plane's 'burning fuselage" but did not provide further details.
Forty-three passengers, including five children, as well as six crew members were on board the An-24 passenger plane as it travelled from the city of Blagoveshchensk on the Russian-Chinese border to the town of Tynda, regional Gov Vasily Orlov said.
The flight, which was operated by the Siberia-based Angara Airlines, disappeared from radar and lost contact with air traffic controllers several miles from Tynda airport. (AP) NPK NPK

Raksha Bandhan 2025 Ashubh Muhurat: Check Inauspicious Time To Avoid While Tying Rakhi
Raksha Bandhan 2025: Tying Rakhi during inauspicious periods like Rahukaal and Varjya Kaal is believed to bring negative results. It's best to avoid rituals during these timings Raksha Bandhan is a festival that celebrates the sacred bond between brothers and sisters. It is observed every year on the full moon day (Purnima) of the Hindu month of Shrawan. This year, Raksha Bandhan will be celebrated on Saturday, August 9. On this special day, sisters tie a Rakhi on their brothers' wrists during the shubh muhurat (auspicious window), pray for their well-being, offer them sweets, and exchange gifts. In return, brothers promise to protect their sisters and make them feel cherished with heartfelt presents. The muhurat, or exact timing, for tying the Rakhi is considered highly significant. Gulik Kaal Associated with the planet Saturn, Gulik Kaal is neither completely inauspicious nor wholly auspicious. It lasts for approximately 90 minutes and may have mixed effects depending on individual horoscopes. On August 9, Gulik Kaal will be from 5:47 AM to 7:27 AM. Durmuhurat Durmuhurat is known to bring failure and obstacles if used for important tasks. Tying Rakhi during this period is not advisable. On Raksha Bandhan 2025, Durmuhurat will be observed from 5:47 AM to 7:34 AM. Yamagand Yamagand is associated with Lord Yama, the god of death. This time is considered unfavourable, often linked to fear, loss, and setbacks. Avoid tying Rakhi or starting any new ventures during this period, which falls between 2:06 PM and 3:46 PM. Adal Yoga Adal Yoga is a celestial combination connected to the Moon. It can produce both positive and negative effects, particularly on emotional health, relationships, and decision-making. This yoga will begin at 2:23 PM on August 9 and continue till 5:48 AM on August 10. Varjya Kaal Varjya Kaal is regarded as a highly inauspicious phase in the Panchang. Activities like travel, shopping, worship, rituals, and Rakhi tying should be avoided during this time, which will occur from 6:18 PM to 7:52 PM. Baan Kaal Baan Kaal signifies destruction or misfortune. Traditionally, auspicious tasks like housewarming, weddings, or launching new ventures are avoided during this period. While the specific timing for Baan Kaal may vary by location, it should be factored in before planning your rituals. Auspicious Time This year, the ideal window to tie Rakhi on Raksha Bandhan is from 5:47 AM to 1:24 PM. Sisters should aim to perform the ritual within this period to ensure it brings happiness, good health, and prosperity to their brothers' lives. tags : Raksha Bandhan Raksha Bandhan Festival view comments Location : New Delhi, India, India First Published: August 02, 2025, 09:57 IST News astrology Raksha Bandhan 2025 Ashubh Muhurat: Check Inauspicious Time To Avoid While Tying Rakhi Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Raksha Bandhan 2025: Did Lord Ram Have A Sister? Who Sends Him A Rakhi Even Today?
Last Updated: Raksha Bandhan 2025: While everyone knows that King Dasharatha had four sons, Lord Ram, Bharat, Lakshman, and Shatrughna, very few know that the brothers also had a sister The sacred festival of Raksha Bandhan, which celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters, is just around the corner. According to the Hindu calendar, it will be celebrated on August 9 this year. It's a day marked by trust, love, and the promise of protection. On this occasion, sisters tie a Rakhi, a sacred thread, on their brothers' wrists, and in return, brothers vow to protect them in all circumstances. But do you know who tied Rakhi to the four sons of King Dasharatha, including Lord Ram? When you must have heard and seen the tales of Ramayana, you might not have heard much mention of Lord Ram's sisters. According to religious texts, King Dasharatha and Queen Kaushalya had a daughter named Shanta, who is often overlooked in popular retellings of the Ramayana. Shanta was the elder sister of Ram, Bharat, Lakshman, and Shatrughna. As per scriptures, she used to tie Rakhi to all four brothers during the Treta Yuga. Mahant Shashikant Das of the Ram Kachahari temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, confirms the existence of Shanta. He says that although she was born to Queen Kaushalya, Shanta was later adopted by Kaushalya's sister Varshini, who was childless. This story is mentioned in some lesser-known texts and oral traditions. Even today, the tradition lives on. Sisters from across India send Rakhi through the post to Lord Ram at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya every year. There is even a dedicated temple for Shanta in Ayodhya, and after the construction of the grand Ram Mandir, Rakhi is sent from there annually on Rakshabandhan for Lord Ram and his brothers. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
