Tonight looks calm and quiet across Central New York thanks to high pressure keeping things settled! But starting Friday, the weather begins to change. A system moving in from the west will likely bring showers and some thunderstorms Friday evening into early Saturday. During the day on Friday, it should stay mostly dry, especially around Central New York, but the weekend becomes more unsettled.
Both Flag Day on Saturday and Father's Day on Sunday won't be total washouts, but expect mostly cloudy skies and several rounds of on-and-off showers and storms. This will be especially noticeable in the Southern Tier. It'll feel humid at times, and while there may be some dry periods, you'll probably see rain at some point both days.
Looking into next week, the active weather pattern continues. Monday and Tuesday will be warm and partly sunny with scattered showers and storms, mainly in the afternoons and evenings. By Wednesday and Thursday, rain and thunderstorms could become more organized as a stronger system approaches. Temperatures will stay warm and humid through the week, with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s and muggy nights in the 60s.

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Happy Friday, expect a hot weather pattern well into the weekend. Temperatures will increase each day with afternoon highs on Sunday, Father's Day, between 8 to 12 degrees above normal. Houston weather: Scattered storms for Father's Day weekend
The Brief Fox 26 Storm Alert this afternoon Flood watches South and East until 7 p.m. Muggy with scattered storms for Father's Day Weekend HOUSTON - Is the rain going to cooperate with weekend plans and Father's Day? Beginning around the afternoon, we could see some scattered, heavy storms as highs near 90. The National Weather Service has placed all coastal counties along with eastern Harris County under a flood watch until 7 p.m. Heavy downpours will probably hit areas outside the watch area, but counties south and east of Houston have received very heavy rain over the last 48 hours. Expect scattered strong storms beginning around noon and continuing through late afternoon with more than 3" possible. Saturday and Father's Day Sunday both look muggy, but still unsettled with afternoon storms likely again. A few could briefly become strong, so isolated flooding is still possible, especially in the afternoon. So far, we don't see any indication of a break in the pattern of daily scattered thunderstorms for at least the next week and probably beyond. More storms, temperatures swings ahead for the Northeast
A pattern more reminiscent of the middle of spring rather than the middle of June will result in frequent showers, thunderstorms and fluctuating temperatures across the Northeast into next week. Wet weather has been common across the region, with weekends especially prone to rain. This has resulted in disrupted landscaping projects, outdoor weddings, graduation ceremonies and recreational plans. AccuWeather forecasters say that Father's Day weekend will be no different, at least for part of the region. A slow-moving storm with ample moisture will trigger clouds and pockets of rain into early next week. The steadiest rain and most frequent downpours will be across the mid-Atlantic, where localized flooding can occur. Residents and visitors from Pittsburgh to Richmond, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Baltimore should prepare for showers and thunderstorms at times and the potential need to seek shelter when outdoors. Those heading to the 250th anniversary parade of the U.S. Army in Washington, D.C., on Saturday should be prepared for a drenching shower or gusty thunderstorm, though the whole day will not be a washout. "The rain is not welcomed due to a wet spring and already saturated soil," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Chad Merrill said. Although the stormy weather will be widespread and can repeat across the Ohio Valley, southern Appalachians and the mid-Atlantic, some communities may be spared from wet weather for much of the weekend, due to the hit-or-miss nature of the shower and thunderstorm the app? AccuWeather's team of long-range meteorologists expect the atmospheric pattern to shift and allow summer heat to return during the middle and latter part of next week.
