CASE Construction aims to make India plant its global hub
, a brand of
CNH Industrial
, has outlined plans to position its Pithampur facility in Madhya Pradesh as the company's global hub for construction equipment production.
Speaking during a recent media interaction,
Emre Karazli
, Vice President, Construction Segment, APAC & AME, said, 'India is becoming a major global supplier for CNH, both for construction equipment and agricultural machinery. About 80 per cent of CNH's requirements for the Asia Pacific region come from our plant in Pithampur.' He further added, 'India is one of the strongest in the global picture supplier base for the rest of CNH.'
Currently, the Pithampur plant accounts for nearly half of CASE Construction Equipment's revenue from exports, with machines shipped to more than 120 countries. To date, over 20,000 units have been exported from the facility, a testament to its growing strategic importance.
The plant, one of CNH's largest globally by volume, is noted for its high level of operational efficiency. It can manufacture one machine every 16 minutes, producing up to 18 backhoe loaders and six compactors daily. The plant is also expanding its product range to serve both domestic and international markets.
Focus on localisation, inventory strength and expanding product portfolio
CASE is working to localise more components and supply chains to boost cost competitiveness without compromising quality. The company sees India's lower labour costs, strong talent pool, and evolving regulatory landscape—now aligned with global emission standards—as critical advantages for expanding its global competitiveness.
Shalabh Chaturvedi
, Managing Director,
CASE India
& SAARC, highlighted the company's preparedness to meet demand, noting that the Pithampur plant holds around ₹100 crore worth of inventory to ensure consistent supply and faster customer deliveries. He also emphasised CASE's broader market development approach, stating, 'CASE is expanding its dealer network in India, especially in areas with new infrastructure projects like the Bharat Mala project.'
The company is preparing for shifts in market demand, with plans to manufacture mini excavators in India aimed at APAC and North American markets. Increased investment in workforce training is also underway to equip technicians with skills necessary for handling the advanced electronic systems and sensors now incorporated in Stage V-compliant machinery.
Launch of BS (CEV) stage V-compliant machines
CASE also announced the rollout of its first BS (CEV) Stage V-compliant machine for the Indian market from the Pithampur facility. This marks the start of local manufacturing for an upgraded portfolio that includes the newly launched 952 NX and 450 NX vibratory compactors, as well as the refreshed 1107 NX compactor. Advanced backhoe loader models, including the 770 NX, 770 NX Magnum, and 851 NX, have also been introduced.
The backhoe loaders and compactors are powered by the FPT F28 engine, meeting the latest emission norms while offering improved fuel efficiency and reduced environmental impact. Operator-focused enhancements, such as digital instrument clusters, ergonomic controls, and integrated telematics via the myCASE Construction platform, have been incorporated into the new models.
'With the rollout of BS (CEV) Stage V-compliant equipment from our Pithampur facility, we are bringing globally benchmarked, sustainable technologies to India while reinforcing our global supply chain. This milestone reflects our unwavering commitment to advancing environmental stewardship, engineering excellence, and localisation aligned with India's long-term infrastructure goals,' Karazli said.
India's role
CASE Construction Equipment has been present in India since 1989 and is widely recognised for its vibratory compactors and backhoe loaders. As the company sharpens its focus on making the Indian facility its number one construction equipment manufacturing plant globally, the Pithampur unit is set to play an increasingly central role in CNH's international strategy.

Stock Market Strategy: Emkay Global raises Nifty 50 target to 28,000 as GST reforms seen as major market trigger
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's announcement of a significant Goods and Services Tax (GST) reform to be rolled out by Diwali, made during his Independence Day speech on August 15, 2025, is growth-accretive and likely to be a major market driver, according to Seshadri Sen, Head of Research and Strategist at Emkay Global Financial Services Ltd. Emkay Global has raised its Nifty 50 target to 28,000 for September 2026 and recommends investors focus on autos and cement to play this theme. 'The second-order benefits of the GST rationalization are key: this speeds up formalization of the economy and improves competitiveness of Indian companies. We think the government should absorb the revenue loss through the higher deficit, as the growth accretion will cover the shortfall within 2-3 years,' Sen said in a report. According to reports, the government is likely to rationalize the GST structure for essential and daily-use items, with the aim of reducing the tax burden on households and stimulating consumption demand. The proposed changes include eliminating the 12% and 28% GST slabs and consolidating products under three categories: > 5%: Most items currently in the 12% slab (around 99%) > 18%: Around 90% of items from the 28% slab > 40%: Luxury and sin goods Sen noted that this move is a 'massive positive' for India as it provides a consumption stimulus, simplifies compliance with fewer tax rates, and promotes greater formalization of the economy by reducing the incentive for tax evasion. Passenger vehicles, two-wheelers, air conditioners, cement, and packaged foods are expected to benefit the most from the reform. Sen highlighted that the best strategy would be to invest in companies catering to mass-market segments within these categories. Emkay Global's preferred picks include Hero MotoCorp, Maruti Suzuki India, Voltas, and Ultratech Cement, with Bikaji Foods as a small-cap idea. The brokerage expects earnings upgrades of 10–15% for companies in these sectors, even though the direct impact on Nifty earnings will be modest (less than 1%). The brokerage estimates a fiscal slippage of 0.1% – 0.2% of GDP for FY26 and FY27, which could be partly offset by buoyancy and asset sales. 'The government should look through near-term fiscal slippage; India's complex GST is a millstone around the growth neck, and rationalization is worth the risk. Strong macro-financial stability, highlighted by the recent ratings upgrade, makes this the perfect time to push this through,' Sen said. Emkay acknowledged that the 50% tariffs imposed by the US on Indian goods remain a key overhang. However, S&P's decision to upgrade India's sovereign rating to BBB on August 14, 2025, provides a significant counterbalance. 'This is a timely recognition of India's fortress balance sheet and will serve to calm potential investor fears around the impact of elevated US tariffs. It also, we believe, gives the government more freedom to risk a higher fiscal deficit through GST rationalization,' Sen added. Calling GST rationalization a 're-rating trigger,' Emkay Global expects the reform to deliver long-term growth benefits and revive earnings momentum. The brokerage has raised its Nifty 50 target to 28,000, valuing it at an aggressive 20.7x one-year forward P/E ratio, which is one standard deviation above the five-year average. 'The GST rationalization offsets near-term worries on weak growth and tepid earnings. The six-week downtrend should now reverse, as the outlook for earnings improves considerably, and valuations will factor in the broader positives of this big-ticket reform measure,' Sen said. Emkay remains Overweight on Consumer Discretionary, while favoring small and mid-cap names in staples and cement within the materials space. ITR Filing: What if my income tax return is verified but not processed? Here's what to do next
ITR Filing: Millions of taxpayers across India are gearing up for the approaching income tax return (ITR) filing deadline, which is 15 September. Filing ITR is only half the job done. Once the taxpayers file their ITR, they need to verify it. After verification, it is processed by the tax department and once the processing is done, taxpayers can see the 'processing completion' notification in the tax filing portal. If taxpayers fail to e-verify their ITR within 30 days, their return becomes invalid which could lead delayed refunds and compliance issues. Sometimes, even after verifying the ITR, it takes more than usual time for processing. Before filing the ITR, the taxpayers need to ensuring that the reported income, deductions, and taxes paid are accurate. After filing, they can e-verify their claim by using Aadhaar OTP and net banking. If they want to verify it physically, they must send a signed ITR-V form by post. 'Once the verification of the ITR is completed, the IT Department checks the claims for data accuracy and tax calculation mismatches,' said Balwant Jain, a tax and investment expert, adding that 'the ITR will only be processed after this step, which may take anywhere between a few hours to 6 months, depending on the complexity of the composition of the income.' The complexity of the composition of income varies from person to person. For instance, 'ITR 1 is processed quickly because there is no capital gain and no business income,' he said. 'Whereas an ITR filed by a person with capital gains such as from mutual funds and stocks takes more time to get processed,' he added. The ITR processing system is usually on autopilot mode so an ITR gets processed easily when the declarations gets matched with the annual payment, Jain said. 'But if there is a capital gain or business income, then before processing it, the prima facie, which is Form 26AS and Annual Information Statement (AIS), is matched which is time-consuming,' Jain said. In such cases, if the tax deducted at source (TDS) is not matching in both forms, then the ITR does not get processed. Incorrect bank details and mismatched PAN and Aadhar details can also delay the process. Once a taxpayer does their part of filing the ITR and verifying it, the responsibility of processing the claim lies entirely on the income tax (IT) department. In case a person's income declarations do not match actuals, they receive a notice from the IT department regarding the mismatch. After that, the taxpayer must make the required changes in their ITR. For example, if a person is receiving an interest in a Fixed Deposit (FD) and they don't declare it in the ITR, they might get a notice. 'In such a case, a person has the option to report on an accrual basis or a receipt basis," Jain said. Accrual basis refers to declaring your gains from a FD on year on year basis, where a taxpayer can take a certificate from the bank for every year's interest or take a number from the AIS and put it in their ITR. In cash basis or a receipt basis, you notify the IT department that you will report the income only after your FD matures and you receive the amount. The IT department also has the authority to reject an ITR, however taking that step, they will issue a notice of defective return to the taxpayer. 'The taxpayer will be given a chance to rectify that mistake. And if they do not rectify it, only then the ITR can be rejected,' Jain noted.
