Here is the Springboks' Test record against Italy
World champions South Africa will host Italy in a two-Test series next month in Pretoria and Gqeberha.
The Springboks will take on the Azzurri at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria on Saturday, 5 July and in Gqeberha at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium a week later.
South Africa will also host second-tier nation Georgia on Saturday, 19 July at the Mbombela Stadium in Mbombela.
All three matches will kick off at 17:10 (SA time).

At the time of publishing, the Springboks sit at No 1 in the World Rugby rankings, with Italy in 11th and Georgia in 12th.
South Africa have beaten Italy 15 times and lost once since first meeting in Rome in 1995, the year the Springboks won the first of a record four Rugby World Cup titles.
The last Test between the countries was two and a half years ago in Genoa, where the visitors triumphed 63-21. Meanwhile, South Africa have won both their previous encounters against Georgia.
The first came at the 2003 Rugby World Cup, while the their only previous visit to South Africa resulted in defeat in Pretoria in 2021.

Have Springboks missed a trick by dropping rising talent?
The Boks have dropped a number of rising stars from their squad for the first four games of the international season, with Jordan Hendrikse and Quan Horn big omissions. Have the Springboks missed a trick by releasing some young up and coming talent from their squad for the start of the international season, and not taken the chance to rest a few senior players? Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus initially named a squad of 54 players for the one-off non-Test against the Barbarians and the incoming series against Italy and Georgia, but reduced that to 45 players after the United Rugby Championship final this past weekend. In the process a number of injured players dropped out, namely props Gerhard Steenekamp and Ntuthuko Mchunu, loose forwards Cameron Hanekom, Juarno Augustus and Pieter-Steph du Toit, and centre Lukhanyo Am. That left five other players, Jaden and Jordan Hendrikse, Quan Horn, Renzo du Plessis and Ntokozo Makhaza, to also be shed from the group, while Edinburgh prop Boan Venter was a late call-up due to the front row injuries. The Boks thus have a pretty strong and experienced group available for the opening four games of their season, with just five players in the squad uncapped, namely Neethling Fouche, Asenathi Ntlabakanye, Vincent Tshituka, Cobus Wiese and Ethan Hooker. It does seem a bit ridiculous to expect the Boks to rest players during the international season, when that is when they are expected to be at their absolute best, but due to the unenviable year-long rugby calendar that the majority of the national players face this was indeed a good opportunity to do just that — rest some senior players. Chance to rest Although players like Eben Etzebeth have been injured during the franchise season, it still might have been better to let him sit out the opening four games, along with others like captain Siya Kolisi, Willie le Roux and Handre Pollard. It might also have benefitted some of the players that could be a big part of the Boks' future, like Jordan Hendrikse and Quan Horn, to get a run of games against weaker opposition. From the start of the Rugby Championship the full strength Bok squad is going to need to be in action, and they will do business right through until the last game of the end-of-year-tour at the end of November. That is going to be a tough run, and not too many opportunities are likely to arise for uncapped and inexperienced players during that time. So the Barbarians game in Cape Town, two Italian matches in Pretoria and Gqeberha, and the Georgian game in Mbombela, are the perfect opportunities to unleash the Bok fringe brigade. That is likely to still be the case, and we could see debuts for all five of the uncapped players in the Bok squad over these games, but it may have served the Boks well to add a few more inexperienced players to the mix to build up some caps as they head towards the 2027 Rugby World Cup.

FIFA Club World Cup: Sundowns pull the UNTHINKABLE!
Mamelodi Sundowns pulled the UNTHINKABLE in their opening Group F match of the FIFA Club World Cup against Ulsan on Wednesday. The Brazilians stunned the South Korean side 1-0 on the night, thanks to Iqraam Rayners' first half strike. As a result, Sundowns top Group F with three points from their opening match after both Borussia Dortmund and Fluminense played to a 0-0 draw. This was Africa's first win at this year's FIFA Club World Cup, and the entire continent should be proud of the result. Sundowns had a full control of the game throughout 90 minutes with their passing game better than that of Ulsan. Miguel Cardoso's team surprised many given that the coach opted to leave out some of his regulars in what was a tweaked starting line-up. Benji Richardson finishes fifth as his search for 2024 form continues
Benjamin Richardson's search to rediscover his form of last season continues after another disappointing performance on the European circuit on Tuesday evening. Richardson faded dramatically in the men's 100m final at the Paavo Nurmi Games in Turku Finland, sliding backwards from front place to fifth as he clocked 10.18. His placing was one of three fifth places for South Africans on the night, with Tshepo Tshite and Charne Swart-Du Plessis finishing the same in their 1,500m and 800m contests. Richardson, who missed the 100m final at the Olympics by two-hundredths of a second, had a break-through season in 2024, before getting injured in Paris days before his 4x100m teammates bagged an historic Olympic silver. But he still has work to do to win his place back in the relay. Richardson executed a good start and drove out impressively, taking the lead early on and holding it beyond the halfway mark. But when he needed to shift into top gear he looked as if he was reversing as four of his rivals overhauled him with ease. Romell Glave of Britain won in 10.08 with Canadian Jerome Blake second in 10.09. Richardson had the satisfaction of beating Canadian Olympic star Andre de Grasse, who was sixth in 10.23, and Marcell Jacobs of Italy, the 100m champion at Tokyo 2020, was finished last in 10.44. Tshite had to settle for fifth in the men's 1,500m, unable to keep up with the attack over the final 300 metres. Tshite crossed the line in 3min 35.22sec, nearly two seconds behind Ethiopian winner Ermiyas Girma in 3:33.49. Medical student Swart-Du Plessis found herself running in the second lane in the early stages of her race, and again tried to attack going around her rivals, but she was unable to outsprint them as she finished in 2:00.26, less than a second behind Swiss victor Audrey Werro.
