‘Everybody Loves Raymond' Star Brad Garrett Says the Sitcom Will ‘Never' Be Rebooted: ‘There Is No Show Without the Parents'
While at the premiere of Disney Pixar's 'Elio' on June 10, Garrett spoke with People magazine about whether the sitcom would be rebooted. The actor, who played Ray Romano's brother in the series, confirmed that there won't be a revival of the show after speaking with Romano and Philip Rosenthal, the show's creator.

Garrett said that the main reason behind the decision is because of the death of Peter Boyle and Doris Roberts, two actors who played Romano's parents in the show.
'There is no show without the parents,' Garrett said. 'They were the catalyst, and to do anything that would resemble that wouldn't be right to the audiences or the loyal fan base. And it was about those two families, and you can't get around that.'
Premiering in 1996, 'Everybody Loves Raymond' starred comedian Romano, who played Ray Barone, a sports columnist who lived in Long Island with his wife and three kids. As a family man, the show followed him as he navigated dealing with a resentful brother and meddling parents who lived across the street.
Garrett received five Emmy Award nominations for his role on the show, in which he won three for outstanding supporting actor in a comedy series. During the sitcom's nine seasons, it was nominated for 69 Primetime Emmy Awards and won 15 of them.
When reflecting on his experience acting on 'Everybody Loves Raymond,' Garrett expressed his gratitude for being a part of the show. 'I know [the reboot] won't happen, but 30 years later, I got very lucky to get on that bus,' he said. 'I'm very grateful.'
Although a reboot isn't planned, all 210 episodes of the show are available for streaming on Peacock and Paramount+.

YouTube Music gets another music discovery tool that Spotify doesn't have

Like the existing weekly discover, the daily discover aims to help you find artists or music similar to what you already listen. Google only appears to be testing it at the moment, as the feature hasn't rolled out widely. Although its supremacy is contentious, YouTube Music is easily among the top five music and podcast streaming services globally. Its popularity naturally stems from the fact that it automatically sorts music (or other audio-based media) uploaded to YouTube. While the automatic sourcing already allows you to discover more tracks, including renditions, covers, audiobooks, etc., YouTube Music is adding a new Daily Discover feed to make the process much easier. We recently learned that Google is testing a new Daily Discover option to recommend new tracks every day based on your preferences. The feature, as spotted by Reddit user One_Flow_8127, is positioned somewhere on the homepage. It appears on top of the 'Trending songs for you' section, which appears after several scrolls on YouTube Music's homepage on the Android app. Based on the screenshots shared, we can see these recommendations show up in a carousel format, and people can scroll left or right to explore multiple recommendations. The feature shows recommendations for particular soundtracks instead of entire playlists, and also tells you the reason why it is being suggested. However, if you prefer, the suggestions also come with a 'Play All' button that should combine all tracks into a new playlist. The primary motive behind this feature is to learn about new artists and their music, which may be loosely based on your interests and listening habits. While its biggest competitor, Spotify, also offers discovery features, it primarily focuses on familiar artists and dispenses these recommendations in playlists instead of regular tracks. The daily discover option itself isn't new and was previously spotted by another Reddit user, BarisberatWNR, about a month ago. However, for them, the recommendations appeared in a different location on the homepage, suggesting YouTube may be testing varied placements to see what is likely to get the most attention. Last month, another user posted in Google's Community forums about the feature appearing and then being removed from their account. From what we expect, the daily discover feature could complement or substitute YouTube's Discover mix, a playlist refreshed weekly instead of daily. To be able to access this weekly discover playlist, you must scroll down on YouTube Music's homepage and spot it under the 'Mixed for you' tab. This appears to be a limited test for certain users, as many others on the original Reddit post have commented about not receiving it. We can't access the feature either, and it isn't easy to ascertain whether this is meant to be an A/B test or a rollout. Further, it appears to have turned it on from the server-side, so updating the app to a newer version will not achieve positive results, though there is no harm in doing so. Follow

Donald Trump on Wednesday named Sylvester Stallone and disco diva Gloria Gaynor among the recipients of the Kennedy Center Honors. This comes as the US president pursues a controversial overhaul of the storied arts venue. Since returning to office in January, the Republican leader has declared war on what he calls 'woke' viewpoints espoused in the nation's cultural institutions. The Kennedy Center, a living monument to the late John F. 'We have completely reversed the decline of this cherished national institution,' Trump told reporters at the stately white marble complex overlooking the Potomac River. 'We ended the woke political programming.' Fast-forward to 1:50 for the Swift-Trump bit: To be clear, Trump reportedly has never been investigated over anything involving the late Epstein. The sex offender's hobnobbing with celebrities and politicians has generated high interest in what government files potentially contain about them. And while Trump was reportedly told by Attorney General Pam Bondi that he is mentioned in the files, the context is not publicly known. Trump brought some suspicion on himself by suddenly declaring the files to be a hoax. But some Republicans are backing a bipartisan House push for the release of all the files related to Epstein. Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) appears to be hindering the process. Fallon has taunted Trump for a while on his about-face on the Epstein front. On Monday the host noted that the president had hoped for a 'trilateral meeting' of peace talks involving Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelenskyy. 'Last time Trump had a trilateral meeting was on Epstein Island,' Fallon cracked. On Tuesday, he again parlayed monologue chatter about the summit into another naughty dig at the commander in chief. 'Trump said that in his meeting with Putin, he will know probably in the first two minutes whether a deal is possible,' the host said. 'It's reassuring when a president talks about ending a war like a Tinder date.' 'Yep,' Fallon continued, 'Trump says that he'll know in two minutes, which makes sense because, according to Stormy Daniels, two minutes is plenty.' Related...
