Women On TikTok Recreating One Hilarious Hamilton Scene

Buzz Feeda day ago
In case you needed a reason to feel old, it's already the 10-year anniversary of Hamilton. To mark a decade of the iconic musical, the original cast reunited for a performance at this year's Tonys, and the filmed version of the show is set to be released in theaters in September.
Of course, the internet at large is choosing to respond to this decennial anniversary with the most randomly hilarious trend possible: a TikToks where women dressed in colonial drag sneak out a window and lip-sync to the song "Best of Wives and Best of Women" and insinuate that Alexander thinks his wife is like, so annoying for having the gall to catch him sneaking off to his (spoiler alert) death.
The trend began when TikTok user actuallyhamilt0n posted their hilarious interpretation of the scene. Instead of the tragic irony that accompanies the knowledge that Alexander is slinking off only to meet his death, we get an Alexander who literally can't even deal right now with his annoying, nagging wife.
One commenter on the video wrote, "this isn't a hamilton cosplay, this is a lin manuel miranda cosplay":
Another said, "imagine looking out your window to see how peaceful the night is then you see alexander hamilton is your neighbour and is halfway through a window 😭😭":
And the History Channel wrote, "this is our first impression of u and we love u":
People quickly jumped on the trend, and each video is cracking me up in its own way. The facial expressions in this one are absolutely perfect:
"This is the best one I've seen, how did u know how to act like an inconvenienced man so well," asked one commenter. The creator replied, "Cuz I've been inconvenienced by men." Dying.
"You really capture his essence of not wanting to be around his wife," one user wrote.
Another person said, "The 'I know' smile is killing me." Hard same.
The window-creeping here is too good:
He might be the worst husband in the world — this commenter wrote, "you perfectly capture the 'I hate my wife and have no emotion when talking to her' look in his eye."
"It's seeing the moment you realized how high that window was but also you not breaking character," one woman said.
Or, more to the point, "THE WAY YOU'RE SILENTLY PANICKING."
Of course, the trend (and the effort put in) only got more ridiculous from there. This example is particularly funny:
And I was evidently not the only one wondering why everyone has a colonial outfit ready to don.
Seriously:
People were joking about how horrible of a husband Alexander truly was:
As time went on, the sets and costumes somehow grew so much more elaborate — for example, see this one with a horse:
One user wrote, "The budget increase as I scroll thru this trend is sending me."
"Not the horse side eyeing her," said someone else:
And another person said, "I like the implication that she was sleeping in the stall." Me too, random internet user. Me too.
This Alexander was particularly committed to a hilarious location. Walking straight into the water is frying me:
"When you turned around with the goggles on I LOST ITTTTTT," a commenter wrote.
"We finally made it out the window goddamit," another person quipped.
This Alexander opted for the most amazing, creepy, funny mask I have ever seen instead of the typical drawn-on goatee, and I am obsessed with that choice:
The costume was so good I almost didn't even clock that Alex was exiting through the chimney.
One fairly composed user replied to that by saying, "WHAT THE HELL IS THAT," expressing my own thoughts more eloquently than perhaps I ever could.
Another commenter (who happens to be Staples) wrote, "please stay in the chimney I'm scared." Hard agree.
This person referenced the song lyric, "I'll be back before I know I'm gone," and said, "please don't."
And this person pointed out that "AI could never replicate this art." True.
This creator had the genius idea of setting their video in a water slide. "Hamilton will do literally anything to get away from Eliza," they captioned the video.
And this Alexander seems particularly fed up by his wife. I am laughing so hard.
"This is the best I've seen so far," commented a user named Sean.
And as a bonus, here are some other Hamilton videos inspired by this trend that I thought were absolutely hilarious:
This woman getting caught filming her lip-sync is so funny:
This one — the lipstick on the neck? The underwear? I'm laughing:
And finally, what may be my favorite video to date. Between the outfit and the facial expressions, this one has me absolutely dying:
The internet is a weird place — I wouldn't have been able to predict this trend in a million years, but now that it's here, I think it's so funny. Tell me your favorite video (or just your thoughts in general) down in the comments below!

Cheryl Burke Lists All The Plastic Surgery She's Had

Dancing With the Stars' Cheryl Burke is setting the record straight — again — about her appearance. You might remember back in May of this year, when Cheryl took to TikTok to respond to accusations that she had a "new face." "I'm not on Ozempic," she said at the time. "I'm not sick. I didn't get a face transplant, and no, I didn't get a brow lift.' A few weeks later, she appeared on Entertainment Tonight to squash the rumors for a second time. "What is, for me, so sad is that a lot of it [comes from] women," Cheryl said. "And I wish, and hopefully in the near future, that by doing this interview — this is not a press tour about what people think of me, because I'm never going to change their perspective, nor is that my goal." Apparently, her explanations weren't sufficient for some, because Cheryl was recently compelled to post a video on IG shutting down speculation that she's had work done in the cosmetic surgery department. "Let's clear this up for the 1,000th time…," she wrote. "Botox? Yes. Surgery? No. Fillers? No. Scars? Nonexistent. Skin bleaching? Nope." "My skin tone shift is just what happens when you swap tanning beds for SPF and let your natural half-Pinay, half-white self come through," she added. "That's it. That's the 'mystery.' You can age gracefully and still enjoy a little Botox. Stop confusing it with plastic surgery 😉". So there you have it. Will this end all the speculation for good? Time will tell...

Man Has Brain Surgery in the Morning, Tears Over What Girlfriend Organizes

Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Facing a major medical procedure is a daunting prospect, but one man was met with a touching act of love that has captured the hearts of millions. The night before his brain surgery, his girlfriend, Kiya McLaurin, gathered his closest friends and family to read his favorite childhood book aloud. The emotional moment, which was shared in a viral TikTok video that received over 3.6 million likes, was a testament to the powerful support system surrounding him. McLaurin, 22, told Newsweek about what inspired the moment, and how her boyfriend, Tucker, has fared since the procedure. In a bid to provide comfort, McLaurin decided to read his favorite childhood book, The Giving Tree. "It was hard to explain why I thought reading the story was the right thing to do," McLaurin said. "None of us wanted the night to end." The Shel Silverstein story holds a special place in his heart, not only because it was his mother's favorite—but also because it inspired his personal motto. "Ever since I have known Tucker, he has talked about this book," McLaurin said, adding that her boyfriend would often say, "'Trust is like a tree." She explained the meaning behind the phrase: "'It takes a long time to grow a tree, just like it takes a while to build real trust or a solid friendship. But once it is grown and has strong roots, it takes a whole lot to tear it down.'" A Room Full of Love and Support As McLaurin started reading in the hospital room, the mood shifted. "I was acting like it was just a normal thing, and then, about three pages in, I found myself really getting into it and trying not to cry," she said. "You could feel the shift in the room as everyone got quiet and actually started listening." In that moment, McLaurin said she felt "an overwhelming sense of home and belonging, knowing we were surrounded by our people and those who love us through everything." The emotional weight of the reading was not lost on Tucker's friends. While many were surprised by the unexpected gesture, they quickly became immersed in the moment. "One of his friends right after said something like, 'Wow, that got way more serious than I thought it was going to be,'" McLaurin said. She added that the video shows everyone was "completely tuned in"—no phones, no distractions, which reveals something special about the character of Tucker's loved ones. A Long Road to Recovery The surgery, which was a vital first step, went as well as they all could have hoped for, according to McLaurin. Tucker is now at home recovering in a "familiar space." The couple's relationship, which began with their first date and has been inseparable ever since, has only been strengthened by the experience. McLaurin made a promise that she would "stay by his side through it all" and has been a constant presence at the hospital and during his recovery. "At 22 years old, you do not really think something like this will happen to you or to someone you love, and it pushes you into high gear when it comes to loving and existing out loud," McLaurin said. While the couple have a long road ahead, one thing is for certain—she is determined to walk it together.

Edinburgh local who 'despises' Fringe brands festival an 'embarrassment' in tirade

An Edinburgh local has shot out online about the Edinburgh Fringe, calling it an "embarrassment" where tourists have "no respect for locals". They posted an angry video to TikTok, showing a mobbed Edinburgh street packed with tourists amid the capital's busiest time of year. In the caption they included a tirade against Festival season and the crowds it brings to Edinburghers' doorsteps. They said: "Words cannot describe how much I DESPITE this sh**** festival. There's little in the world I hate more than the embarrassment that is the Edinburgh Fringe. Just full of the same unfunny middle class English shows every year. "I could write a book on why this festival needs to be terminated." Fellow capital residents joined ranks in the comments to share their frustration at the Fringe. One commented: "At this point Edinburgh is just a theme park for the English". A miffed parent added: "My daughter has to elbow her way to work from Waverley during August. She booked her own holiday days this year to miss some of it". Another shared: "I do wish BBC would give more coverage to the Edinburgh festival, not the Fringe". However, there were many Edinburgh residents in who disagreed with the hot take and offered alternative points-of-view on the festival. One said: "We live somewhere with the world's largest arts festival on our doorstep. We're so lucky." Another offered: "I stayed in Edinburgh for about 20 years and it's one of the best things about the city. Can't beat a wee sunny afternoon in the Pleasance Courtyard". A third penned: "Disagree and I've lived in Edinburgh during the festival. It's amazing for tourists and culturally important". Others added: "It's an essential tool for people who want to get into the arts and it's a feeder for some of the best British theatre and TV".
