Sam Thompson reveals Soccer Aid appearance is hanging by a thread – and horrifying after-effects of 260 mile bike ride
SAM Thompson has revealed his Soccer Aid appearance is hanging in the balance as he continues to recover from his gruelling charity run.
The I'm A Celeb king, 34, raised more than £1.5m for Unicef by running and biking 260 miles from Stamford Bridge, Chelsea, to Old Trafford, Manchester, where the game will be played at the weekend.

Sam carried the matchday ball in a backpack for the duration of the journey and was joined by famous pals at various points as they tried to motivate him through the pain barrier.
Speaking on Hits Radio today, Sam revealed his battered body is still suffering.
He said: "I am so tired but elated. I'm so glad we got it done...
"Never again [am I getting on a bike] I think I'm prone to saddle issues! After day one I still to this point can't feel bits of my privates. I'm being deadly serious!
"The bike is a wild thing, Tracey who was with me going up these hills when we were skirting round the edge of Wales, that was mad and you're just going so slowly and you feel like your bike is going to topple over! I did think to myself this is the first time I've ridden a bike in so long..."
Detailing how adapting for one leg issue has aggravated others, Sam continued: "Because I was running in a different way my shin was really inflamed so I couldn't even run on my tiptoes so I was running side to side.
"I describe it as plugging holes, so like the calf tears so that's one hole you've got to plug so then I run on my tiptoes with my leg straight.
"OK well that then messes up my ankle ligaments because everything is running through your ankle; then your ankle ligament explodes so then you can't do that... you're trying to play chess against yourself, whilst trying not to panic because I can't move my leg and it's still pretty bad."
Though it's up in the air if he'll be fit in time to step onto the pitch at the weekend, Sam is still going to be a presence at training sessions in the build up under the care of Gary the physio.
He said: "I'm just going to go lie on his bed every single day and get a rub down...!"

Sam cuddled his sister Louise after finishing the challenge but his girlfriend Samie Elishi wasn't in attendance.
He also received a phone call from Orlando Bloom in the This Morning studio who congratulated him on the superhuman effort.
Chris Hughes, Ryan Libbey and Josh Patterson were all on hand at various points of the challenge to offer support.
This Sunday's game will see huge celebs battle it out in an England XI v World XI.
The teams are being managed by Tyson Fury and Wayne Rooney, respectively.

Wrexham 'in talks with outgoing Leicester star on free transfer' as Welsh club eye up Premier League additions this summer
Wrexham are in talks to sign Wales goalkeeper Danny Ward on a free transfer following his departure from Leicester City, according to a report. The 31-year-old will leave the King Power Stadium when his deal expires at the end of the season. He has attracted the interest of the Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney-owned club. Ward made just five appearances in all competitions for the Foxes last term as the side were relegated to the Championship. A move to Wrexham, who will be playing in the second tier next term after three successive promotions, will see Ward return to the club where he came through as a youngster, though he never made a senior appearance for the side. On Sunday, Mail Sport reported that the side are still interested in signing Davies despite Tottenham exercising their option to extend the defender's contract by 12 months at the weekend. Davies has been a Spurs player since 2014 and he featured in 28 games under Ange Postecoglou last season, despite not being a member of the manager's first-choice XI. Davies has played 358 games for Tottenham in total, operating both as a left back and a central defender. Davies recently saw his contract extended until June 2026, which means Wrexham would likely need to pay Spurs a modest transfer fee to land him this summer. Tottenham's willingness to let Davies leave could depend on whether or not they are successful in their attempts to sign Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite. Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson looks set for a busy summer following his side's promotion from League One to the Championship. Davies has never played below the top tier of English football, having been a Premier League player for his entire club career to date. The 32-year-old made 71 Premier League appearances for Swansea between 2012 and 2014. He has played a further 242 Premier League games for Spurs.

So when the Brit Awards head up to Manchester next year, I've been told we can expect an Oasis extravaganza. 11 'The Brits want to kick off their two-year residency in Manchester with a bang,' my Brits mole said. 'Oasis will have not long finished up their sold-out shows and the hope is that Liam and Noel Gallagher will accept a special award to recognise the phenomenal sales which have come out of their reunion gigs. 'Along with it being heavy on Oasis, the Brits want to celebrate Manchester's rich music history. 'As well as Oasis, huge bands like The 1975, The Stone Roses, The Smiths and Take That all have their roots in Manchester. London might be the music capital of the country, but Manchester is just as important and has given the UK some of our best homegrown talents. 'It's a new adventure and the Brits team think they could be onto something very special.' We're expecting a very different vibe from the ceremony this year — and that's no bad thing. So it's little surprise Lionel is feeling the burn, joking on stage: 'When you see me jumping and running, sliding, running up stairs, running down stairs, I want you all to know one thing – I'm in pain.' His high-intensity shows are fuelled by early nights and electrolytes, with Lionel performing 22 of his biggest tracks including Dancing On The Ceiling, Endless Love and All Night Long. But while he has the moves of a man half his age, Lionel said his vocals are given a rest – by the audience. He adding: 'When you come to my show, the last person you'll hear singing is me.' IDRIS ELBA, Blossoms, Jade and Mabel have been added to the line-up of artists playing the British Grand Prix weekend. They will join headliners Sam Fender, Raye, Fatboy Slim and Becky Hill at the event at Silverstone, Northamptonshire, from July 3 to 6. THE festival set up in memory of TV's Caroline Flack hopes to top £1million in fundraising for mental health support after this year's one-day event. Flackstock has raised over £700,000 in its first three years, with the money split between Choose Love, Mind, Samaritans and the Charlie Waller Trust. This year, another charity, the Flackstock Fund, will also benefit.
