Boyz II Men Live In Singapore
Time to bring back the 1990s, as American R&B group Boyz II Men will be back in Singapore for a show.
The Philadelphia trio with the smooth vocals – Nathan Morris, Shawn Stockman and Wanya Morris – are behind some of the biggest ballads of that decade, such as End Of The Road (1992), I'll Make Love To You (1994) and One Sweet Day (1995), their duet with American diva Mariah Carey.
The former quartet saw their bass singer Michael McCary leaving in 2003 due to health issues.
Even though their most popular hits charted some 30 years ago, the group continued to put out new releases in the succeeding decades. In 2017, they released their latest and 15th album, Under The Streetlight, which mostly comprises renditions of songs from the 1950s, including Why Do Fools Fall In Love, a 1956 track by American band Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers.

Anthem – 40th Anniversary
Japanese band Anthem's debut show in Singapore is part of their 40th anniversary celebrations.

One of the pioneers of Japan's heavy metal scene, Anthem, are is finally playing a show in Singapore.
The concert is part of Anthem's 40th anniversary tour that celebrates their self-titled debut album released in 1985.
The band split up in 1992 after releasing six more albums. They reunited in 2000 and released comeback album Heavy Metal Anthem, and have regularly put out new material over the years. Their most recent album, Crimson & Jet Black, dropped in 2023.
Anthem's current line-up includes bass player Naoto Shibata, the only member who has been with the band since they formed in 1980. The quartet are fronted by singer Yukio Morikawa, who joined in 1988.

Tunggu Sekejap: The P. Ramlee Suite
P. Ramlee made significant contributions to the Malay film and music industry from the late 1940s to his death in the early 1970s.

In this concert, Singaporean musician, composer and music director Julian Wong re-composed the works of Malay film and music icon P. Ramlee into three movements.
These include some of the late maestro's most beloved songs such as Azizah (written in 1945), Getaran Jiwa (Soul Vibration, 1960) and Tunggu Sekejap (Wait A Moment, 1958).
Singaporean musician and composer Julian Wong re-composed P. Ramlee's music into three movements.

Directed by Wild Rice founding artistic director Ivan Heng, the music will be performed by the 30-member chamber orchestra re: mix, led by maestro Foo Say Ming.
Wong, who received the Young Artist Award in 2023, He is also known for writing Don't Call Him Mr Mari Kita (2021), the acclaimed musical show about the late local composer Zubir Said.

What we know about The Paper, the upcoming spin-off of American sitcom The Office NEW YORK – It has been 20 years since the American version of The Office (2005 to 2013) debuted on NBC, where it ran for nine acclaimed seasons and endured as a pop culture juggernaut well after its finale. It lives on in countless memes and catchphrases, and the network says it remains one of its most-streamed shows. So, it should surprise no one that the sitcom, as delightfully cringey as it is lovable, is finally getting a spin-off – The Paper (2025). NBCUniversal revealed at its upfront presentation in May that The Paper would debut on its streaming platform Peacock in September. The sitcom is being created by Greg Daniels and Michael Koman. Daniels was behind the American adaptation of The Office, while Koman created Comedy Central's Nathan For You (2013), alongside its star Nathan Fielder, a king of deadpan comedy. Daniels and Koman are executive producers of The Paper, as are Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, the duo behind the original British version of The Office (2001 to 2003). Fans first caught wind of the potential spin-off in May 2024, when it was announced that Peacock had an untitled comedy-mockumentary series in the works. Production of The Paper began last summer. Like The Office, The Paper is a mockumentary sitcom about an industry in trouble – this time, the newspaper business, as opposed to the paper business of the original. It is also set in the same universe as the original. The same fictional documentary crew that followed the employees of Dunder Mifflin in Scranton, Pennsylvania, is now following those who work at The Truth Teller, a fictional newspaper in Toledo, Ohio, whose publisher is trying to revive it with the help of volunteer reporters. Oscar Nunez is returning as Oscar Martinez, who will now work in accounting at The Truth Teller. 'I told Mr Greg Daniels that if Oscar came back, he would probably be living in a more bustling, cosmopolitan city,' Nunez said at the May presentation. 'Greg heard me, and he moved Oscar to Toledo, Ohio, which has three times the population of Scranton. So, it was nice to be heard.' So far, Nunez is the only Office alum who is confirmed for the new series, but John Krasinski, who played Jim Halpert, told Entertainment Tonight that he would make a cameo if Daniels asked him. 'I will do anything for that guy,' Krasinski said. 'He calls, I'll show up.' The new series will be led by actors Domhnall Gleeson, most famous for his role in Alex Garland's sci-fi film Ex Machina (2014) , and Sabrina Impacciatore, most famous for her role as the no-nonsense hotel manager during Season 2 of HBO's The White Lotus (2022). Impacciatore will play the managing editor of The Truth Teller, and Gleeson will play a new employee. Ruby Lin strikes touristy Merlion pose in Singapore at Vivian Hsu's 'recommendation', Entertainment News
When in Singapore, do as the tourists do. That seems to be the cue taken by Ruby Lin when the actress was in town recently. The 49-year-old may be a star in Taiwan and beyond, but a recent Instagram post showed how in Singapore, she can be just like any other merry holidaymaker. But unlike other regular tourists, however, Ruby had the privilege of having fellow celeb Vivian Hsu, 50, as her "tour guide". Vivian, who split from her Singaporean husband Sean Lee in 2023, reportedly lives in Singapore with her only son, but travels to Taiwan frequently for work. In a post published on Saturday (June 7), Ruby wrote about taking the series of "tourist photos" at the encouragement of her "dear sister", Vivian. "Under the strong recommendation of my tour guide, companion cum photographer and dear sister, I've taken this photo which she said I'll thank her for in 10 years' time," wrote Ruby, referring to a picture of herself striking the iconic 'Merlion pose'. "I've therefore taken this series of touristy photos," she joked, alongside a laughing emoji. She also wrote in a series of hashtags, "As long as you're not embarrassed, others will be the ones who are embarrassed" as well as another hashtag stating that the 'photographer' was very responsible and took such photos for the entire group. [embed] For those unacquainted with said pose, it involves people tilting their heads backward, mouths agape, to "catch" the stream of water from the Merlion's mouth. Other photos taken by a third person showed Vivian snapping a photo of Ruby in said pose, though it's not clear if Ruby's actor husband Wallace Huo had joined her on the trip. In an Instagram Story on June 7, Vivian too, reposted the photo, stating: "It's a photo worth remembering", calling herself "the best photographer". On another day, Ruby and Vivian, both wearing masks, stopped for a photo-op outside the ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands. However, Ruby's little sojourn to our sunny island might not have been all that recent. Her post a week ago showed both her and Vivian posing against the backdrop of a visual installation, which the latter indicated in a comment to be the teamLab Future World exhibit at the ArtScience Museum.
