Six Golfers Relegated From LIV Golf League Following 2025 Campaign
The LIV Golf League, which began in 2021, has continued to grow in popularity, with the 2025 season officially concluding on Sunday. The league's year-end rules differ significantly from the PGA Tour. The standings are divided into three zones: Lock Zone, Open Zone, and Relegation. The top 24 golfers automatically secure their spots for next season, while those ranked 25 through 48 can remain in the league—but their current teams are not obligated to re-sign them if they are on an expiring contract. At the bottom of the standings is the Relegation Zone. This year, six players who finished 49th or lower were relegated following Sunday's final tournament in Indianapolis. Who Got Relegated The relegated players include 2016 Open Champion Henrik Stenson, co-captain of the Majestics; Mito Pereira; Andy Ogletree; Yubin Jang; Anthony Kim; and Frederik Kjettrup, who ended the season with zero points. The relegation system in LIV Golf is ruthless, but it undeniably adds competitiveness to every tournament and places a premium on consistency. This year, LIV Golf star and soon-to-be U.S. Ryder Cup member Bryson DeChambeau weighed in on the system and how the league could evolve moving forward. Relegation, in particular, was something he suggested could use adjustments. 'I would say that there are definitely grounds upon which we can change some things,' DeChambeau said. 'Definitely relegation for sure, more pathways into LIV. I think a global tour, more association to a global tour would be great for a feeder system into LIV. Those things, I think, could help quite a bit. Albeit I don't know the details, I think those are a few of the bigger points.' How Can LIV Players Can Return From Relegation While the six relegated players are now techincally out of the league, the door isn't fully closed. They still have opportunities to earn their way back into the field—whether by climbing into the top 48 through the International Series or LIV Golf promotions. The next promotions tournament is set to begin on Dec. 12 at the Riyadh Golf Club in Saudi Arabia. Its sole purpose is for players to compete and earn their spot into the LIV Golf story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Aug 19, 2025, where it first appeared in the Golf section. 4-2-3-1 Barcelona Predicted Lineup Vs Levante
Barcelona will face off against Levante at the Estadi Ciutat de València on Saturday night as they look to secure a win on the road in La Liga. The Catalan club managed to earn a comfortable 3-0 win away at Mallorca last weekend, which should keep them in good spirits ahead of this game. Hansi Flick will opt for the 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make one tweak to his first XI for this clash. Dani Olmo could get a chance to play from the start of this game, while Fermin Lopez makes way for him and drops to the bench. 4-2-3-1 Barcelona Predicted Lineup To Face Levante Defence Joan Garcia will play in goal for the Catalan club after keeping a clean sheet in the opening weekend of this La Liga campaign. Pau Cubarsi will partner up with Ronald Araujo at the centre of the Barcelona backline as they look to keep things solid at the back during the 90 minutes. Eric Garcia will be named as the right-back, while Alejandro Balde hopes to impress on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will get the license to go forward and express themselves inside the opponent's half. Jules Kounde will be available for selection on the bench as he offers cover for the defensive positions. (Photo by) Midfield Pedri and Frenkie de Jong will anchor the midfield once again for Barcelona. Their main focus would be to control the flow of the game and engineer some meaningful chances for their teammates up top. The gifted trio of Raphinha, Dani Olmo and Lamine Yamal will function just ahead of them as part of Flick's attack. Both Raphinha and Yamal would try to get in behind the Levante defence at every chance they get. Fermin Lopez and Gavi will be named on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if required. Attack Ferran Torres will lead the line for the Catalan club up top. The Spanish talent managed to score in his last outing and would be eager to keep his good form going in front of the opponent's goal. Marcus Rashford will have to be content with a place on the bench as he awaits his chance to make an impact in the final quarter of the game if Barcelona are in need of a goal by then.

Manchester United Are Keeping A Keen Eye On This Barcelona Attacker: Should Amorim Snap Him Up?
In a recent report, Diario Spot claimed that Manchester United are keeping a keen eye on Barcelona attacker Fermin Lopez this summer. It has been mentioned that the Red Devils are showing interest in bringing the Spanish talent to Old Trafford this off-season. Lopez's Impressive Form In Spanish Football Lopez enjoyed a decent run of form at the Catalan club last season when he put in a run of eye-catching displays for them in La Liga. The Spanish playmaker made 46 appearances for Barca in the previous campaign, netting eight goals and securing ten assists in multiple competitions. The 22-year-old caught the eye at times in the final third as he averaged 2.95 shots per 90 minutes in La Liga. He kept 36.6% of his attempts on target. Lopez was even tidy when distributing possession in the opponent's half, based on his pass success rate of 81.8% in the Spanish first division (stats via His current contract at the Nou Camp will expire in the summer of 2029. Hence, Man United would have to make a convincing offer if they want to convince Barca to part ways with their prized asset. KOBE, JAPAN – JULY 27: FC Barcelona's Fermin Lopez prepares to take a corner kick during the preseason friendly between Vissel Kobe and FC Barcelona at Noevir Stadium Kobe on July 27, 2025 in Kobe, Hyogo, Japan. (Photo by) Should Manchester United Boss Ruben Amorim Snap Lopez Up This Summer? Lopez is an energetic presence in the opponent's half and can make some driving runs with the ball going forward. He can link up play well with others around him and can shoot the ball with venom from long range. The Spaniard had added plenty of goals and assists to his game of late and could be a real asset for a club with European ambitions like Man United. However, there are some concerns over whether he can maintain his good form in the Premier League if the Red Devils manage to bring him on board this summer. Lopez would inject more quality and depth into Man United boss Ruben Amorim's frontline. He is good enough to fight for a regular first-team place at Old Trafford. At 22, the future looks quite bright for Lopez as long as he continues to improve with each season. Thus, Amorim should focus on trying everything in his power to snap him up before the end of this summer transfer period.
