EXCLUSIVE Love Island axes fan favourite part of villa in blow to viewers as boss gives the show a 'more upmarket and premium' makeover

They're a fan favourite for watching Love Islanders pull those for a chat they're interested in.
But this year the much-loved bean bags have been banned from the Love Island villa in an attempt to make the accommodation more luxe and expensive.
The famous comfy seats have seen former islanders explore new romances and admit to falling in love.
Replacing them this year are now 'Molly-Mae inspired' boucle seats with oak paneling and comfy cushions.
Creative Director of the show Mike Spencer – Hayler told the Mail: 'The whole place, we wanted it to feel more upmarket.
'We've gone for inspiration from The Beverly Hills Hotel.

'It's more sophisticated this year. There's no more bean bags and now only lovely chairs. The beanbags have been axed.
'Hopefully it still feels like love island, but a more premium version.
'No more budget than usual though.'
Since first being broadcast in 2015, Love Island has proved to be a hit with viewers year upon year.
The iconic villa has undergone many changes throughout the years and has always been based in Mallorca.
The original Love Island villa, which was used for the first two series was situated in Santanyi, Mallorca.
And the five-bedroom villa was snapped up by a mystery buyer in March 2022.
The subsequent villa which is still now used for shows is located in Mallorca, in Sant Llorenç des Cardassar, which is on the east coast of the island.
The villa underwent huge renovations after filming concluded for the 2022 series and last year a secret new Hideaway was revealed which requires 'no invite.'
It also boasts a 20m swimming pool, plush sun loungers, brand new day beds and the famous firepit.
The cast also have an outdoor kitchen as well as an outdoor shower, a shared bedroom, a ladies 'glam room' and shared bathrooms.
There is also the famous terrace where secret chats usually take place, although this year the fencing around it has been made shorter and smaller making it easier for the other islanders to spot what's going on up there.
Fans of the show can even book their very own stay at the villa - but it will not come in cheap.

Mel C flaunts her sizzling six-pack as she shares slew of snaps from recent trip Down Under - including a loved-up display with new boyfriend Chris Dingwall

Mel C flaunted her rock hard abs in a slew of snaps on Instagram on Thursday while reflecting on her recent trip Down Under. Sporty Spice, 50, jetted off to Australia in March with her boyfriend Chris Dingwall ahead of the Australian Grand Prix - where she was booked to play a DJ set. But after returning back to the UK in preparation for festival season, Mel is seemingly suffering with holiday blues as she gave fans an insight into her getaway. Captioning the post: 'Missing life down under,' the first photo shared by the pop star showed her indulging in some seaside yoga while showing off her impressive physique. Donning a pair of shorts and a dark blue sports bra, Mel flaunted her sizzling six-pack while stretching her arms towards the sky for the snap. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Her abs were again on show in an later photo, with Sporty Spice unsurprisingly enjoying a visit to the gym in a matching shorts and bra combo. It wasn't all sports and yoga for Mel Down Under however, with the slew revealing that she had taken in a Dua Lipa performance during her trip away. And the 50-year-old seemed to be having a whale of a time watching the British superstar's Radical Optimism tour, with Mel filmed dancing the night away in the crowd. In another video, Mel revealed exactly how she manages to wear stilettos for an entire day - by taping her toes together. The footage showed a man - presumably her stylist - prepping the Spice Girl to slip into a pair of heels while explaining exactly how the method works. 'The science says that by taping toe two and three together, it will redistribute the pressure on the foot meaning Melanie can do a full day in the world's most heeled high heels,' he said. '(Our inspiration is) Vanessa Williams while performing in The Devil Wears Prada, she told the world that this was the secret to getting through a full day in stilettos, and let's see if she's a liar.' Mel also put on a loved-up display with her film director boyfriend Chris, who is believed to be in his 40s, in a selfie shared to her Instagram on Thursday. While it remains unclear how the couple met, they confirmed romance rumours last June when they attended Glastonbury together. Chris - who stands at around 185cm tall - is a model who has also tried his hand at acting, writing and film directing. During their time together in Australia, the couple were pictured sharing a cheeky kiss while enjoying a day on the beach. Since going public with their romance, Mel and Chris have also enjoyed a summer break in Ibiza together. They were seen sharing a steamy kiss during a PDA-filled boat ride on the island. In July, Mel also cosied up to her new partner as they enjoyed a day out at Wimbledon in south west London. The singer keeps her love life largely out of the spotlight but previously spoke about how she was banned from dating in the early days of the Spice Girls - while her bandmates were free to pursue romances. 'Looking back what struck me was it was one rule for one and another for the others, right?' she previously told Australia's The Project. 'I think when you are vulnerable as well, people go, I don't think it's good for you'. Mel said the rule for the other women was, 'she is fine, she can have a boyfriend, she can cope with having a boyfriend, she is strong enough but you are not'. 'It makes you question yourself when you are already vulnerable,' Mel added. On Thursday, it was reported that Simon Fuller – the man who managed the band, created Brand Beckham and helped found Victoria Beckham's fashion empire – is keen to organise a tour to mark the group's 30th anniversary next year. He has the support of Mel C, Mel B and Emma Bunton, and has spent more than a year trying to win Geri Halliwell-Horner round to the idea. A source told The Mail's Alison Boshoff: 'Geri isn't interested in stepping foot on a stage again.' So the plan she agreed to was for Abba-style avatars of the girls, which would 'perform' in concert. But Victoria is being left out of discussions and will not be part of the virtual line-up. A source said: 'Simon Fuller planning a tour has caused yet another schism. Victoria is f****d off that they have gone with him and there is no way that she will be a part of it. 'The bad feeling seems to go back to her and David having to spend millions on buying him out of Beckham Brand Holdings. He still has a stake and board seat on her fashion business. There is resentment there. 'Geri wants to do the avatars idea. She isn't interested in coming back and doing a tour. She doesn't need to. This is the one idea which Simon has had which has tempted her.' The source added: 'Simon Fuller is the only person who could get Geri to rejoin the Spice Girls, but he is the one person in the world who could never persuade Victoria.' No wonder only Mel C and Emma Bunton went to Mel B's 50th birthday celebrations in Leeds last weekend. All of the 'girls' showed up for Victoria's 50th birthday last year, but it seems that they are in separate camps once again. In fact, there has not yet been a meeting to discuss plans with Geri and the other Spice Girls in the same room because 'at any given point

James Argent's ex Nicoline Arthursson breaks her silence with damning statement after he was given suspended jail sentence for pushing her down steps in Spain

James Argent 's ex Nicoline Arthursson has broken her silence after he was arrested for pushing her down some steps in Spain. The ex- TOWIE star, 37, received a suspended jail sentence earlier this month after he was arrested for pushing Nicoline down some steps at their Spanish home. Nicoline, 32, suffered several injuries to her neck, arms, hand and leg in the assault, and a two-year restraining order is in place now meaning he's banned from contacting her. Now, the former Miss Sweden has taken to Instagram to pen a lengthy statement, saying that she is still 'wounded inside', and accusing James of causing her 'targeted emotional distress.' She wrote: 'It's now been a month. I still can't believe it. My fractures on my body have finally healed but I'm wounded inside. I've been quiet long enough. Silence protects no one - and it almost destroyed me. The former Miss Sweden has taken to Instagram to pen a lengthy statement, saying that she is still 'wounded inside', and accusing James of causing her 'targeted emotional distress' 'What started as a love story sadly turned into something else. Behind the pictures, promises and the plans for a life together - the beautiful days - changed into something into sadness with emotional manipulation and eventually physical harm. 'I loved deeply, believed in our future and stood by someone I thought would protect me and instead I was left alone and harmed in ways I never imagined. 'I was not only failed by him but deeply affected by the presence of unresolved ties to his past. 'Yes I posted an Instagram story with a simple yes or no question about if your ex should be a part of your present relationship. I felt there were too many people in our relationship: me, my boyfriend and his ex. ''Three's a crowd'', they say. 'I asked so many times if we could be just the two of us, but the answer was a strong NO. I experienced what I can only describe as targeted emotional distress which he allowed to continue. 'Everybody knows that real friends support you and want to see you happy. 'So I posted a story on Instagram. After being together for one year my boyfriend finally promised me that he would have boundaries. 'He would put a stop to all that had been going on for months. But he didn't. Instead he broke the promise and her controlling behaviour continued. The rest is history. 'I was brutally thrown out of our new home in the middle of the night wearing only my pyjamas. I opened the door to let him in and only minutes after I found myself laying down on the stairs outside our house. 'My clothes and belongings were being thrown out from the balcony down on me. I was injured. 'Thanks to incredible neighbours who heard and saw what happened and acted, I got help. They called police, brought me to safety and ensured the incident was taken seriously. 'A gentleman does not abuse you and end up in jail and call you the love of his life. A gentleman does not blame you for his actions. 'A gentleman will confide in his partner, family and close circle of friends, keeping them close and safe. A gentleman chooses you always and leaves the past in the past - including exes. 'Life is to be lived together and not to please people who want to take advantage of you. At the end of the day, fame can only do so much - it's all about being strong and growing together. 'Life is simply not a reality TV show, life is real. 'I have tried to understand why. I have cried so many tears thinking about the way he chose to hurt me. He said he loved me and I believed him and here we are. 'There is now a legal record of what happened. Violence has no excuse - no matter how much love preceded it. 'To those who questioned me for staying as long as I did: I stayed because I believed in love. I believed he and we could grow, could heal, could choose peace. But love doesn't survive in chaos. And it cannot survive where violence lives. 'To every woman reading this: if you've ever questioned your worth, your safety or your sanity in a relationship - this is your sign. You deserved to be loved with care and integrity. And you are not alone. 'To the men: real strength is protection. Real love is safe. Be the kind of man who lifts women up - not one who breaks them down, neither by violence or silence. 'To the future: never say never. I will get the little family I've always dreamed of and have my dream wedding to symbolise and celebrate true love in front of my dear family and friends. 'I'm healing now. Slowly, bravely and unapologetically. I will rise and I will use my voice - not for vengeance but for truth. For every woman who's been silenced by someone who said 'I love you' and then proved otherwise. 'This is not just my story. It's a reminder: abuse - whether emotional, psychological or physical - has no place in love.' After accepting the suspended sentence, it has been claimed that James has moved on from the lawyers who represented him and hired a new legal team. The lawyers have not been named and it marks his third legal team since the May 5 assault in Spain. A legal source told the publication: 'The individual who was convicted has appointed a new barrister and solicitor.' James has been ordered to attend a rehabilitation course aimed at addressing gender violence, and his new lawyers may work with him on the terms of this course. MailOnline contacted James' representatives for comment at the time. Court papers obtained by The Sun showed James - who raked in £5,000-a-week last year - was only required to pay Nicoline a shockingly low £250 in damages. James has reportedly insisted he's 'feeling good' as he took to the stage at Olivia's La Cala restaurant in Costa del Sol, Spain - close to where he attacked his ex Nicoline. According to The Mirror, James arrived looking glum-faced but was soon working the room with punters prior to his set where he was overheard telling them he was 'feeling good and looking forward to getting on stage'. The TV personality also shared a video on his social media, looking in very high spirits while dancing and singing with the crowd. He was welcomed on stage by the owner of the venue, former TOWIE star Elliot Wright, who spoke of their 'many trials and tribulations', the publication claimed. James' ex-girlfriend Nicoline was left with cuts and bruises to her neck, arms, hand and leg after the fall, according to a court filing. Prosecutors were reportedly pushing to charge James with wounding, which carries a jail sentence of up to nine months. However, the ex-reality star eventually agreed to the lesser offence of mistreatment as part of a plea deal. James was handed a six-month suspended sentence and a restraining order that prevents him from contacting Nicoline for a two-year period. The attack took place at the couple's beachfront home in the early hours of May 5, reportedly after a dispute about James' friendship with ex-girlfriend Lydia Bright. James was reportedly seen flinging clothes belonging to Nicoline from the balcony of their home before aggressively escorting her to the front door. She was then allegedly pushed down some steps in front of the couple's house before falling on the concrete patio. Nicole received treatment from medics at a nearby hospital, while James was arrested shortly after midnight. The suspended sentence means James could still face a jail sentence if he reoffends - and he also has to attend a 10-week-long domestic violence course. The pioneering programme, known as Regener@r, will require him to listen to the testimony of domestic violence survivors and is designed to help men create a new, less toxic form of masculinity. Fans questioned whether James's behaviour was sparked by a return to his wild drug and alcohol abusing days, which saw the reality favourite spend several stints in rehab. James, who over the years has struggled with weight issues and cocaine addiction, has previously suffered two near-fatal drug overdoses as he battled against his demons. The Essex star has been alcohol and drug free since 2022, prioritising rehabilitation, clean living and maintaining a healthy weight after having gastric band surgery. And speaking exclusively to MailOnline, James confirmed he is still sober and the police incident was not triggered by a relapse. James said: 'I haven't relapsed. I am still three years and four months clean and sober. I am devastated by what's happened.'

‘Best boss I ever had' – Cristiano Ronaldo's former bodyguard reveals risks of protecting star and how much he was paid

CRISTIANO RONALDO's former bodyguard has revealed the eye-watering sum he was paid to protect the footie icon. Hichman Bukhari was part of CR7's security detail for four years when the Portugal star plied his trade with Real Madrid. 3 3 3 The private military contractor (PMC) and close protection operative (CPO) was by Ronaldo's side every time he stepped out in the Spanish capital or jetted to a luxurious location. Bukhari attended some high-profile events during his watch of Ronaldo, which earned him a whopping £850 a day. That equated to a whopping £4,250 for a five-day week and £21,250 per month. His annual salary for a five-day week worked out to be a cool £255,000. Despite having to fend off scores of adoring footie fans, paparazzi galore and the occasional thief, Bukhari insists working with Ronaldo was a breeze. During an appearance on Telecinco, he said: 'Our work depends on the client's profile. 'In the case of Cristiano, with whom I worked for four years, his profile wasn't high-risk because people didn't want to kill him, and he didn't receive death threats. "He was threatened by fans or people who wanted to rob him.
