Jack Osbourne reflects on childhood with dad Ozzy in first TV appearance since his death
The late Ozzy Osbourne was mentioned by his son Jack Osbourne during a TV appearance that aired tonight. He spoke about his late father whilst competing on Cooking with the Stars.
Jack is among the celebrity contestants on the new series of the ITV show. He competed in the first episode, which aired this evening, just over a week after it was announced that Ozzy had died, aged 76.
Speaking about his experience with food growing up, he told host Emma Willis whilst making risotto on the show: "There was a lot of Birdseye Potato Waffles." Following surprise from the presenter, he added: "Because I was here until I was 12 and then we went to America [and] it was all take out."
He continued: "We'd go through bouts of having a chef but everyone's such ... very picky eaters so chefs don't usually last long in our house. Because all of a sudden my dad's like 'no, I don't like it anymore' even though it's like some amazing chef."
Last week, Jack and some of his family announced that musician Ozzy had died, just weeks after he performed in a farewell gig alongside his band Black Sabbath. Sharon Osbourne and four of Ozzy's children issued a joint statement.
It read: "It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis."
Jack competed against reality TV star Jess Wright on Cooking with the Stars tonight. The episode also saw former EastEnders cast member Natalie Cassidy take on radio host Jordan North in the kitchen.

After eagle-eyed fans noticed this, one commented: "People were assuming that she only followed them because they were in the top three. "But she actually started following them a few weeks ago." But Maya was quick to fire back, replying: "No I followed them yesterday after the show was finished. "And last time I checked I had free will to follow whoever I like lol." Unlike previous Love Island hosts, Maya has built a reputation for sharing her honest opinion when it comes to the Islanders. She was praised by fans for calling out Harry, 30, and Helena Ford - who he was coupled up with at the time - during the dramatic Casa Amor recoupling. As Harry's shocking behaviour during the classic Love Island twist was revealed, Helena, 29, was seen sniggering. But Maya quipped: "I don't know, I probably wouldn't find that funny if I was in a couple with someone like that." Clearly Harry won Maya over as she backed him and Shakira, 22, to win while chatting to them ahead of the results on Monday night. Awkward moment Love Islander's smile drops after Maya Jama makes on air joke about her But Maya was met by toe-curling silence from the crowd when she told them: "You are in the final and there's something that the public have seen that obviously gives love story."

Jack Osbourne expresses ‘sorrow and gratitude' after death of father Ozzy
Jack Osbourne has paid tribute to his father, Ozzy, and said his heart is filled with 'love and gratitude' as well as 'sadness and sorrow' following the rock star's death. The Black Sabbath frontman, who had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2019, died aged 76 on July 22nd from a reported heart attack. Advertisement Osbourne, his mother Sharon and siblings Aimee and Kelly, joined fans in laying flowers at the Black Sabbath bench in his home city of Birmingham last week. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Jack Osbourne (@jackosbourne) In an Instagram post, Osbourne said: 'I haven't really wanted to post anything since the passing of my father. My heart has hurt too much. 'I'm gonna keep this short because he certainly hated long rambling speeches. He was so many things to so many people, but I was so lucky and blessed to be apart of a very small group that got to call him 'Dad'. 'My heart is full of so much sadness and sorrow, but also so much love and gratitude. I got 14,501 days with that man and I know that is such a blessing.' Advertisement Osbourne said a quote from US journalist and author Hunter S Thompson summed up his father, who 'lived his life fully'. He wrote: 'Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body… but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, 'Wow! What a ride!'.' His message was accompanied by a video that featured Ozzy's song So Tired, and showed pictures and videos of the father and son with members of their family. On Tuesday, Birmingham Museum And Art Gallery announced it would be extending its Ozzy Osbourne exhibition to the end of 2025 due to public demand. Advertisement Ozzy Osbourne: Working Class Hero, which was originally due to end on September 28, was opened by former X Factor judge Sharon on June 25 to coincide with the band's July 5 homecoming farewell concert at Villa Park. The free exhibition showcases Ozzy's honours including Grammys, MTV Awards and Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame accolades. The family viewed the tributes last Wednesday during a procession in which the heavy metal star's body was carried through his home city a final time. The siblings featured in the 2000s MTV reality show The Osbournes that shone a spotlight on the family's domestic life, although their older sister Aimee opted not to take part. Ozzy died just over two weeks after Black Sabbath were reunited barely two miles from where they first played together more than 50 years ago. The Back to the Beginning benefit concert saw performances from the likes of Anthrax, Metallica, Yungblud and Guns N' Roses. The group who formed in 1968 and were known for songs including War Pigs and Paranoid, were given the freedom of the city of Birmingham in June, which recognises people's exceptional service to the city.
