Juvenile Court places Mohamed Ramadan's son in a foster home

The 6th of October City Juvenile Court on Thursday has moved to place the son of actor and singer Mohamed Ramadan in a foster home, without specifying for how long.
The decision came following the first session of his trial in the case of assaulting a child inside a private club in Sheikh Zayed City, according to the victim's lawyer.
The court held its first session on Thursday morning, in the absence of the defendant and his father, and in the presence of defense representatives and the parties to the lawsuit.
The court continued its legal proceedings based on investigations of the Public Prosecution and police reports, according to legal sources who attended the session.
Ramadan absent
The defense team attributed the absence of the artist's son from the court session to a sudden health problem he suffered on Wednesday evening, including a high temperature and a severe cold.
A woman had filed a report with the police, accusing the son of the famous celebrity of assaulting her 12-year-old son, a sixth-grade student at an international school, while they were inside a private sports club in a residential compound in Sheikh Zayed.
Details of the incident
According to statements of the victim's father given to the Public Prosecution, the incident occurred while his son was playing at the club.
An argument broke out between him and Ramadan's son, which quickly escalated into a physical altercation.
He explained that the latter locked his son in a bathroom, using a chair to block the door, and then beat him, bruising his face.
The victim's father added that Ramadan's son had a video call with his father prior to the assault.
Ramadan was present at the club at the time of the incident and whispered in his son's ear before those present witnessed what they described as a slap directed at the victim.
The Public Prosecution had previously decided to refer the case to the Juvenile Court, charging the suspect with physical assault of a minor, a charge considered a specific case considered under the provisions of the Child Law.

Shocking new revelations over death of Nawal al-Degwy's grandson

Shocking new developments have arisen regarding the death of Ahmed al-Degwy, the grandson of Nawal al-Degwy, after the family's lawyer Mohamed Hamouda put forward new evidence that suggests his death was not a suicide. During a phone interview with TV host Amr Adib on the 'al-Hekaya' (The Story) show on Friday, Hamouda said that all the rumors circulating about Ahmed's suicide do not stand up to scrutiny. He assured that his client did not suffer from any psychological disorders, as some believe. The family's lawyer added that several eyewitnesses reported hearing what sounded like an argument inside the villa where the incident occurred, moments before the sound of gunfire. This, he said, reinforces the possibility that other parties are involved in the case. Hamouda continued, 'There are extremely dangerous people responsible for Ahmed al-Degwy's death and all these issues.' The family's lawyer stated that investigations are still ongoing, noting that the Public Prosecution is re-examining the crime scene, revealing new information, including the presence of another gun in the incident. Hamouda concluded his remarks by emphasizing that the only body authorized to announce the facts is the Public Prosecution, expressing his confidence in its ability to uncover the full truth soon.

Egyptian TikToker sentenced to 3 years in prison for cross-dressing

An Egyptian court sentenced the famous Egyptian TikToker Zain al-Zein and his friend to three years in prison over charges of wearing women's make-up and clothing, RT reported on Saturday. The ruling by the Ismailia Economic Court on Saturday said that the main defendant had posted indecent videos on the social media site TikTok. The case began in mid-March, when security authorities in the Sinai city of Dahab, during Ramadan, spotted a group of individuals wearing women's clothing and behaving oddly. They were returning by bus from a trip to the city's beach. According to security sources, al-Zein and his friend were suspected of being part of this group, and were found to be wearing women's clothing and makeup, prompting authorities to detain them for investigation. The defendants were referred to the Public Prosecution, which immediately began investigations. They found that al-Zein, who has a large fan base on TikTok, had been posting videos of himself cross-dressing as a woman and dancing inappropriately, which the prosecution deemed 'contrary to public morals' and 'inciting debauchery.' The defendants were also examined by forensic doctors to confirm their identities and behavior, and their mobile phones were confiscated. During the investigation, al-Zein defended himself, asserting that the videos were intended to entertain and attract followers, and had no intention of violating societal values. The prosecution cited the 2018 Anti-Cybercrime Law, which criminalizes the publication of content deemed 'contrary to Egyptian family values and principles,' as well as articles related to incitement to debauchery. This case comes within the context of a broader campaign by Egyptian authorities against content creators and those who challenge societal norms on social media platforms, particularly women and those perceived to be challenging traditional values. These include the cases of TikToker Haneen Hossam and Mawada al-Adham, who were sentenced to prison on charges related to 'violating family values' and 'human trafficking,' before their sentences were later commuted.
