Tsutomu Ogura steps down as Singapore Lions coach for personal reasons
The Japanese coach took charge in February last year, guiding Singapore to the semi-finals of the Asean Championship.
'Mr Ogura informed the FAS of his decision several weeks ago, citing the need to return to his home country to attend to pressing personal matters,' it said in a statement.
'The FAS respects Mr Ogura's decision and extends its sincere appreciation for his professionalism, commitment, and contribution to Singapore football during his time at the helm.'
Following Ogura's departure, former Tampines Rovers head coach Gavin Lee will step in as the country's interim manager. — Reuters

In the second half, JDT pressed on and took the lead in the 57th minute through Irazabal, who completed a pass from Hector Hevel. Before the visitors could regroup, Arif Aiman fired a powerful shot one minute later to extend the lead to 4-2. However, Negeri Sembilan refused to relent and Motika again found a touch of goal in the 60th minute, to close the gap.. JDT substitute striker Bergson put the icing on the cake in extra time with a scissor kick, etching his name in Super League history. Could the psychological phenomenon known as FOMO – or 'fear of missing out' – be at work here? Psychologist Norezzati Hanafiah believes that FOMO – often associated with social pressure or unhealthy lifestyle habits – can actually be used positively, such as by encouraging individuals to lead more active lifestyles. From a psychological perspective, this drive is closely tied to the human instinct to be accepted within a social group, which is essential for emotional well-being. As such, in the context of pickleball or other light sports, FOMO can become a positive motivator. 'One might start as a spectator, then develop an interest in trying it out, which can become a turning point towards adopting a healthier lifestyle. If handled properly, FOMO can spark healthy habits that spread widely within a community,' she said. Norezzati Hanafiah. This makes physical activities more enjoyable and effective than approaches that emphasise aesthetics or weight loss. 'When an activity is seen as fun rather than a burden, people are more likely to stick with it. This makes a healthy lifestyle something to enjoy rather than something one is forced into,' she stressed. Norezzati added that social media plays a major role in spreading the pickleball trend, and creating a sense of normalisation that encourages more people to try the sport without feeling embarrassed or self-conscious.

PSG sign Ukrainian Zabarnyi on 5-year deal

(EPA Images pic) PARIS : Paris St-Germain have signed centreback Illia Zabarnyi from Premier League club Bournemouth on a five-year contract, the European champions said today, with the 22-year-old becoming the French club's first Ukrainian player in history. Financial details were not disclosed but media reports said the transfer fee was worth around €63 million. The Ukraine international was a key part of Bournemouth's defensive line-up last season, making 36 appearances as the club achieved positive goal difference in a Premier League campaign for the first time, finishing ninth. Zabarnyi is the latest Bournemouth defender to depart this summer after Dean Huijsen joined Real Madrid and Milos Kerkez signed for Liverpool. 'I'm very happy to join Paris St-Germain, the best club in the world, with the best project. I am here to give everything I have on the pitch and I'm looking forward to making my debut and meeting the fans,' Zabarnyi said in a statement.
