
Tennis star Nick Kyrgios to sell 'unique' $1.8m penthouse before French Open
Nick Kyrgios is set to spend more time in his hometown of Canberra, with the tennis player listing his "unique" Sydney penthouse for auction along with a few bonus inclusions.
The Kensington split-level penthouse located at 802A/260 Anzac Parade is listed with a price guide of $1.8 million, however Kyrgios is open to considering offers prior to the scheduled on-site auction on June 14.
The property offers three bedrooms, two bathrooms, two undercover car spaces and a storage cage, with a north-facing terrace boasting impressive views.
In the complex there are no tennis courts, but there is a heated outdoor pool and plenty of green space, with a convenience store, shops, cafes and restaurants right below the building. The light rail, Randwick Racecourse and the University of NSW are all at its doorstep on Anzac Parade, too.
Kyrgios' brother Christos said the major appeal of the area was its central location to all Sydney has to offer.
"You're close to the beaches, you're 15 minutes from the city and if you want to get to the airport, that's only 15 minutes away as well. So you're close to all those places without having the congestion of living right on the beaches or in the city," he said.
"Nick is no stranger to wanting to go out to a club or eat at a nice restaurant and having Bondi and the city so close, it's a really big benefit."
The Kyrgios clan felt the time was right to move on from the Sydney apartment after it was purchased in 2022 for $1.6 million, and had an estimated $100,000 in renovations completed, including professional painting done by their father, George.
"Nick's not spending as much time there anymore, so we decided it's a good time to move that apartment, given the federal election is over now and there might be some incoming interest rate cuts," he said.
"There's probably been about $100,000 spent on renovations to the kitchen and living room, tidying up the terrace, and putting in new floors and a fresh coat of paint.
"There's a lot of inclusions we are going to leave there like a big-screen television, a really good sound system, and the bedrooms are all set up as well, so it really suits someone who wants something relatively turn-key."
Kyrgios was splitting his time between Sydney, his Canberra family home and another property in the Bahamas, but will now call the Australian capital his main residence.
Christos Kyrgios said they would be open to other investment opportunities, and hinted that there could be "another purchase around the corner".

"With this part of my career I'm excited to travel the world and do some fun things whilst I'm out there."

Market soundings for potential screen studio locations were concluded last month to identify suitable sites and viable options for screen infrastructure and production spaces.
