The annual Xbox Games Showcase will have a slew of upcoming first-party Xbox games and third-party titles. The Outer Worlds 2 Direct will offer a deeper look at Obsidian Entertainment's upcoming first-person sci-fi RPG right from the folks developing it.
This showcase won't just be for Xbox fans. Now that Xbox is releasing its titles beyond its ecosystem, there's a high chance that games like Gears of War: E-Day could eventually release on PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2. The third-party titles showcased should also arrive on other platforms.

During today's Xbox Summer Game Fest showcase, Xbox and Squanch Games announced High On Life 2, which appears to be a bigger sequel to its hit comedy-FPS, High On Life. And here's how Xbox and Squanch describe the upcoming fast-paced comedy shooter sequel that features the new ability for players to ride around on a skateboard while shooting silly aliens with even sillier (and weirder) guns that are actually aliens. An intergalactic conspiracy threatens the fate of humanity! Team up with a wide cast of talking alien guns as you shoot, stab, and skate your way through the exotic locales to take down the bad guys and save your favorite species (humans)! In High On Life 2's announcement trailer, we got a look at some of the new alien guns players will use, including a shotgun and a bow and arrow. We also see a ton of new enemies, more varied environments, and a playable skateboard. The original High On Life launched back in 2022 on Xbox, PC, and Game Pass and was a runaway surprise hit, becoming one of the most popular games on the service. The game's snappy gunplay and jokes connected with a lot of people. But soon after its launch, Justin Roiland—the creator of Rick and Morty and co-founder of Squanch Games—found himself in hot water over troubling allegations of abuse. That lawsuit against him was eventually dropped, but not before he left the studio. Roiland also voices characters in the game. It's unlikely he'll return. The Xbox Showcase's most surprising reveal is a spooky British home renovation musical
Developer Friday Sundae revealed an eye-catching new game, There Are No Ghosts At the Grand, during the 2025 Xbox Games Showcase. The project, set to launch in 2026 on Xbox and PC, is one part part home renovation game, one part British ghost story, and one part musical. The debut trailer was one of many during a packed Xbox Games Showcase, but it stands out among the pack. The breakneck clip features talking cats, a full on musical sequence, magical power tools, and much more. If it all left you a little confused, Digital Trends learned more about how exactly the eclectic genre mash-up works. Recommended Videos There Are No Ghosts At the Grand is a narrative-driven adventure game follows Chris David, a man who inherits a dilapidated seaside hotel from his late father. His goal is to renovate the hotel in 30 days and nights using seven somewhat magical power tools. The trailer gives a glimpse if tools like sand blasters and furniture canons. Players can blast wallpaper away, vacuum up trash, redecorate, and more in first-person. It may look a bit like House Flipper or PowerWash Simulator at first glance, but that's not exactly the full picture. The project isn't a life simulator, but rather a supernatural mystery game with some choice-driven gameplay. Cleaning the hotel, and the town around it, during the day will reveal details about what exactly happened at The Grand. Friday Sundae notes that there are several layers of deception at play during the 10 hour story, as even the game's hero is described as an unreliable narrator. Players will also be able to explore a small open-world in that time, where they can ride around the sea on a boat, search for buried treasure with a metal detector, or ride around on a scooter in search of side activities like mini-golf. There are seven main areas to restore in the hotel and each one has an NPC tied to it who's a bit of a caretaker (and also a talking cat named Mr. Bones the Bastard). That's where the game's musical component comes in, as each one belts out original songs by Friday Sundae. The team describes it less like a traditional musical and more as a collection of British punk and ska records. The gameplay completely changes once again when nightfall hits. Everything transforms into a horror game at that point, where players need to outrun ghosts as the hotel shifts. The power tools turn into weapons at that point, which can suck up or otherwise destroy specters. So, to recap: house renovation mystery musical with open-world elements by day, Luigi's Mansion-esque horror game by night, all of which has to be completed within 30 days and 30 nights. Got that? Pokémon studio's action RPG Beast of Reincarnation launches in 2026
Game Freak, perhaps best known for its work on the Pokémon franchise, is working on a new action RPG called Beast of Reincarnation that will launch sometime in 2026. In the game, you play as Emma, who will be accompanied by a canine friend. 'Survive a journey across an ominous, ever-changing world where dangerous forests can erupt in the wasteland,' according to the description from a new trailer shown at the Xbox Games Showcase 2025. 'As Emma and Koo push deeper into the unknown, their bond strengthens—and with it, strange powers bloom.' The description also says the RPG is built around 'demanding, technical combat,' and based on the trailer, that sure appears to be the case — it looks thrilling.
