Would You Try This Brooklyn Ice Cream Made to Taste Like Breast Milk?
Breast milk ice cream isn't a new thing, but it's new for OddFellows where you'll be able to find the controversial flavor at the New York City ice cream shop now through Sunday, August 10.
The ice cream that is meant to taste like it's made with breast milk is a collaboration with baby goods company Frida. The 'artificially flavored' ice cream is noted as not being made with actual human breast milk; rather, the listed ingredients include liposomal bovine colostrum, which is the milk female cows produce right after giving birth. The flavor is described as a 'slightly sweet, faintly salty treat complete with hints of honey and a dash of colostrum.' It's available at the OddFellows in Dumbo shop at 44 West Street, at Dock Street.
A restaurant from Paris is coming near Bryant Park
Parisian specialty food market and delicatessen Fauchon is going to be opening a restaurant in New York City in the fall. It'll be found in Midtown across from Bryant Park at 1100 Sixth Avenue at West 42nd Street. It'll be open for breakfast, lunch, and brunch; the cafe will offer takeout coffee, baked goods, sandwiches, and salads. This isn't Fauchon's first time in the city — the company, which was founded in Paris in 1996, had opened three stores in New York City in the early 2000s, but those eventually closed.
Meanwhile, nearby, longtime restaurant Bryant Park Grill is in a headstrong battle over its expired lease, where chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten is planning to open a new restaurant.

New kebab spot in East Village
The co-owners of East Village Indian restaurant Ishq are opening a new fast-casual Indian restaurant focused on kebabs this week. KebabishQ (styled as KEBABISHQ) is debuting at 128 Second Avenue, near St. Marks Place, on Wednesday, August 6.
Co-owners Vamshi Adi (who is the executive chef) and Neel Mittal's menu is simple: halal charbroiled kebabs. Options include chicken (like ghost chile), lamb (i.e. seekh), shrimp (lahsooni), and vegetables (paneer mirch, soya reshmi) that are either wrapped in paratha or served on top of pulao or fries (plain, masala, or peri peri). Then there are chutneys, dahi puri, kulfi, and more. The small space includes room for some dine-in counter seats, and the kitchen claims it'll get everything ready to be served in less than 10 minutes.

And while the ice cream doesn't actually include any human breast milk, it does contain good ol' cow's milk, so it's still a no-go for our lactose-intolerant friends. How did Delish staffers think it actually tasted? Overall, pretty good! "Ooh, that's delicious," said Senior Editor Samantha MacAvoy after trying a spoonful (or two) and then immediately grabbing a pint to take home. "I have no idea if it actually tastes like breast milk, but I wouldn't mind it," said Digital Production Assistant Colton Trowbridge. One editor said she would order it again if it wasn't called breast milk ice cream, and another likened the flavor to cream cheese (not appetizing in ice cream form). Still, most people thought the flavor was reminiscent of vanilla ice cream and would probably have it again. However, the bright yellow coloring was off-putting to some. A two-Michelin-starred restaurant out of London is landing on the Las Vegas Strip, bringing upscale Indian dining to the Aria Resort and Casino. Gymkhana will debut this fall with a design inspired by Indian social clubs, chaat-style sharing plates, and the refined cooking that made it one of London's most sought-after reservations. In London, Gymkhana was upgraded to two Michelin stars in 2024 after earning its first star in 2014 for its extensive Northern Indian-style menus, with standout dishes like tandoori masala lamb chops and kid goat methi keema. At Aria, the restaurant will focus on tandoor-grilled chicken, classic curries such as Goan prawn curry and pork cheek vindaloo, and fragrant biryanis, like a version made with wild venison, pomegranate, and mint raita. The restaurant was founded by siblings Jyotin, Karam, and Sunaina Sethi of JKS Restaurants, inspired by Indian social clubs where members of high society socialize, eat, drink, and play sports. Gymkhana is the first-ever upscale Indian restaurant to open on the Strip, which is surprising given the sheer number of restaurants and the breadth of Indian cuisine in the city. While Tamba, which opened earlier this year at Town Square, recently brought higher-end Indian cooking back to Las Vegas Boulevard, Gymkhana will be the first to bring a globally recognized Indian fine dining standard to the heart of the Strip. Gymkhana opens this fall, marking a rare moment for the Las Vegas Strip: the arrival of an acclaimed Indian fine dining restaurant — and a major win for the Aria, which hasn't seen a marquee opening since Cathédrale, whose brief two-year run ended in May.
