In Satellite City's C Block, she laid the foundation stone for the first-floor construction of a BC Multipurpose Community Hall, taken up at an estimated cost of Rs 20 lakh. She also inaugurated road and drainage works worth Rs 2.2 crore across various areas of Satellite City.
In D Block of Hukumpeta Panchayat, the MP and MLA jointly laid the foundation stone for road and drainage construction projects amounting to Rs 93 lakh. In Bommuru village, the duo initiated the construction of a new health centre at Vivekananda Charitable Hospital with an estimated budget of Rs 50 lakh.
Additionally, road and drainage works worth Rs 3 crore were launched in Murali Konda and Madhura Nagar localities.
TDP State Health Wing General Secretary Gorantla Ravi Ram Kiran and other leaders participated in these programmes.

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh ranks last in the country when it comes to the operational length of Metro networks. The operational length of the Metro in MP is 6.2 km in Indore. Total operational length of the Metro in the country is 1035.74 km. Rajasthan was the second lowest state in operational length of Metro with 12.1 km in Jaipur, compared to double the 6.2 km operational length in MP. The Metro is operational only in Indore in MP. This information was provided in the Rajya Sabha during the ongoing session in response to a question from BJP member from Karnataka, Iranna Kadadi. In his reply in the Rajya Sabha, Union minister of state in the ministry of housing and urban affairs, Tokhan Sahu, informed that the Metro is operational in 11 states of the country, including Delhi & NCR, Karnataka, Telangana, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Kerala, UP, Maharashtra, Gujarat and MP. At present, about 1,036 km of metro rail network is operational in 24 cities across the country. In the last five years, including 2025-26, 339 km of Metro network became operational across the country. The Metro issue was also raised in the MP assembly on Thursday. The state govt replied that Nov 2022 was the initial deadline to start the Metro, but now 2028 is the new deadline to complete all corridors of the Metro project. The first phase of Metro has started in Indore this year. Target to start the first phase of the Metro in Bhopal is also in 2025. The govt also revealed that it has received a loan of over Rs 2,100 crore for Bhopal and Indore Metros from different national and international agencies. On Friday, chief minister Mohan Yadav announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will soon visit Madhya Pradesh. He shared, "It is a matter of great joy that Prime Minister Modi has given his verbal consent to personally attend two major events — the inauguration of the Bhopal Metro train and the foundation-laying ceremony of the PM MITRA Park in Dhar." On July 27, the CM had announced that the govt is swiftly moving towards its goal of presenting Bhopal residents with the gift of Metro train service by Oct 2025. He stated that metro train services have already commenced in Indore and received an excellent response from the public. The Bhopal Metro project is also progressing rapidly, with only a few remaining tasks to be completed within the next one and a half to two months. Yadav informed that the test run of the Bhopal Metro is underway.

"No Slum Will Be Razed Without Rehabilitation": Delhi Chief Minister
New Delhi: In a move that could pause ongoing and future slum evictions across the national capital, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday ordered all agencies, including the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), Indian Railways, and other land-owning bodies to ensure no slum is demolished without first providing alternate housing to residents. "No slum dweller in Delhi will be harassed anymore," Ms Gupta said, warning that her government would not tolerate evictions without rehabilitation. Ms Gupta also announced a major housing revival plan - nearly 50,000 long-abandoned flats on the city's outskirts, originally built under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM), will be renovated and allotted to eligible slum dwellers. "It is a matter of satisfaction that around 50,000 flats built years ago in the outer areas of Delhi will now be allotted to the poor," she added. These flats, according to officials, have been lying in disrepair for years and were never handed over to beneficiaries. The government now plans to refurbish them using over Rs 700 crore that had remained unused, and distribute them under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Urban (PMAY-U). The Chief Minister's directive makes it clear: no eviction for infrastructure or development purposes can take place without alternate housing being provided first. "If slums are removed for development or any other reason, alternative housing will be provided first," Ms Gupta said. She also indicated that the current policy governing slum clusters may soon be amended. The government, she added, would even approach the courts if required to ensure housing rights are protected. "If required, the government will amend the existing policy on slum clusters and will even approach the court to protect the housing rights of slum dwellers," she said. "Vote Bank Politics": Chief Minister's Swipe At Congress And AAP Ms Gupta used the occasion to slam past governments, blaming both the Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for the poor conditions in slum clusters. "The Congress party, which established slum colonies in the names of leaders like Indira and Rajiv Gandhi, never provided any facilities to the residents and treated them merely as a vote bank," Ms Gupta said. "The previous AAP government went even further in neglect. Despite making grand promises for the welfare of slum dwellers, they failed to provide even basic amenities." She painted a grim picture of the living conditions under previous administrations. "In these settlements, neither drinking water was supplied, nor roads or pavements constructed, nor proper drainage and sewer systems established. Instead, they left no stone unturned in pushing slum residents towards alcoholism." Ms Gupta said her government would now work to ensure that slum residents are no longer left behind. "My government will now make the residents of these hundreds of slum clusters true citizens of Delhi so that they too can take pride in calling themselves Delhiites." What Data Says 675 slum clusters across Delhi, and are home to an estimated 3.06 lakh families. But the jurisdiction is fragmented - 50 per cent of these clusters are on DDA land, 23 per cent on land owned by PSUs or private entities, and the remaining 22 per cent fall under the MCD, DUSIB, or other state agencies. In terms of distribution, South-East Delhi has the most slums (144 clusters), followed by North Delhi (109), and Central Delhi (92). North-East Delhi has the fewest, with just six clusters. For many residents, even a short delay in allotment or a missing survey entry could mean the difference between legal protection and sudden homelessness. Can The Promise Hold Ground? With legal disputes, inter-agency turf wars, and pending surveys still unresolved, the Chief Minister's promises will be tested not in speeches, but on demolition sites. The question now is: will this shift from bulldozers to blueprints finally hold, or will slum dwellers once again be left watching from the sidelines?

House adjourned for 10 mins amid protests over coal-handling cess
Porvorim: Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar adjourned the House for 10 minutes on Friday after opposition MLAs rushed to the well in protest of state govt's failure to collect green cess on coal-handling from Jindal and Adani. The legislators vehemently declared that they did not want coal in Goa. Opposition leader Yuri Alemao alleged that the two companies handled double the amount of coal than the permissible limit, and that govt had failed to recover around Rs 4,000 crore from them. He also said that coal imports increased after the cessation of ore mining in 2012, and that even though everyone objected to coal-handling at the Mormugao port during subsequent public hearings, the activity was still recommended for environmental clearance (EC). Alemao further said that the Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) had reduced coal-handling at the port by 25% based on a letter by former chief minister Manohar Parrikar, but it was reversed following Parrikar's death. While chief minster Pramod Sawant said it was, Alemao claimed it was never sent. 'My charge is that the EC was illegally granted as state govt hid the letter and did not send it to Centre,' the opposition leader said. Sawant responded that all the documents placed at the public hearing were sent to Delhi. Alemao also accused govt of allowing illegalities at the Mormugao port pertaining to coal-handling, but Sawant insisted that govt was not allowing any illegalities there and that coal was handled according to the limit. Environment minister Aleixo Sequeira said the import and export of coal are monitored by the GSPCB, and agreed with the figures pointed out by Alemao. Sequeira said that the GSPCB had not given any permission to increase coal-handling at Mormugao port as there is no bypass road for its transportation. He promised that in the next assembly session, he would provide the correct coal-handling figures. Alemao pointed out that Sawant claimed coal was handled as per the EC limit, but that the environment minister contradicted the chief minister. 'Jindal and Adani are handling double the amount of coal compared to the EC limit,' Alemao said. 'Jindal has not paid green cess since 2013, which amounts to Rs 3,000-4,000 crore, and it needs to be recovered. When will it be recovered?' Sawant replied that govt had recovered green cess on coal-handling. His response didn't sit well with the opposition, prompting them to rush to the well of the House.
