Sharjah Government Communication Award motivates creatives

Sharjah 2426-05-2025
The award is open for nominations until July 24, offering an opportunity for talented, influential, and purposeful communication visionaries.
23 categories
This year, the award includes 23 categories divided into five main sectors: "Government Entities, International Organisations, and the Private Sector Awards," "Individual Awards," "Partners Awards," and finally, "Jury Awards." Those wishing to participate can apply through the official website (https://gca.sgmb.ae).
The 'Best Changemakers in Digital Content Category' complements the award's objectives of honouring positive changemakers through content, given that positive change comes from the impact, motivation, and inspiration of words or images.
Competitions for the "Best Changemaker Under 18" and "Best Changemaker Over 18" categories are open to all. The judging panel bases its evaluation on a set of precise criteria, including creativity, quality, and relevance of the content, positive impact on the recipient, technological comprehension, stimulating community interaction, contributing to learning, sustainability and impact of the content, and adherence to digital ethics. The category focuses on the essence of the message, the credibility of the performance, and the relevance of the content to vital issues such as quality of life and sustainability.
From "Medical Seats" to the Podium
Last year, Kuwaiti Issa Al-Habib, winner of the "Best Meaningful Digital Content Creator" (Over 18), was among the inspiring models celebrated by the award.
Issa chose to pursue his passion for storytelling and video production, driven by a childhood passion that grew with him ever since his father gifted him his first camera. He abandoned medical studies to embark on his media journey, which was considered an adventure at a time when "content creation" was not yet a recognised profession.
Issa emphasised the importance and distinction of the award, given its global reputation and credibility, as it focused on the content and authenticity of its messages. This marked a turning point in his life, opening new doors for him, which strengthened his professional presence.
The Youngest Changemaker
As for the under-18 category for the "Best Meaningful Digital Content Creators," Emirati Aisha Al Khayal shone in the previous edition of the Sharjah Government Communication Award. Aisha proved that age is not a criterion for creativity. She created purposeful content that speaks to awareness, arouses curiosity, and instills hope in the hearts of youth and children.
Aisha Al Khayal stated that winning the award motivated her to continue and confirmed that honest words and purposeful ideas do not require years of experience, but rather passion, honesty, and a belief in the value of what we offer.
Aisha addressed a message to content creators aged 18 and above who are interested in participating in the current edition of the Sharjah Government Communication Award, in 'Best Changemakers in Digital Content Category'. She noted that winning the award is a certification recognised by a prestigious body after international competition, enhancing confidence in purposeful and influential content creators. She called on all ambitious and accomplished individuals to take advantage of the opportunity offered by the award.
This category, previously known as "Best Meaningful Digital Content Creators," honours creatives, including content writers, photographers, and video creators, who have transformed social media and other media into platforms for disseminating constructive messages that promote knowledge, support community cohesion, and communicate meaningfully.

South Korea to adapt Kuwaiti animation IP in deal with MBVISION Studios

The partnership also includes plans to bring Korean characters to Arab audiences, fostering two-way collaboration in animation, gaming and immersive experiences. MBVISION Studios, Kuwait's first independent animation studio, has signed a series of significant Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with top South Korean content companies, under the patronage of the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA). The agreements, concluded during the K-Content Expo in Riyadh, represent Kuwait's first-ever international export of original animation intellectual property, with South Korean partners set to adapt homegrown Kuwaiti characters for both regional and global audiences. A central element of the collaboration is an IP exchange deal with Seoul-based Character Inc., paving the way for co-production, licensing and the adaptation of Kuwaiti animation properties across South Korea and the broader international market. This strategic alliance marks a new chapter in cross-cultural content creation between the Gulf and East Asia. Manal Al-Gharabally, Founder and CEO of MBVISION, said the deal is the result of more than a decade of creative development and relationship-building with Korean partners. She described the move as a shift from service-based projects to a deeper form of cultural exchange, where original Kuwaiti characters are set to find new life in Korean media and beyond. The collaboration will also see the introduction of Korean characters to Arab audiences, strengthening two-way engagement in animation, gaming and immersive media. Backed by South Korea's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and KOCCA, the initiative underscores a growing global interest in Gulf-originated intellectual property and storytelling.

Kuwait City Reimagined Through the World of Cyberpunk 2077 with NVIDIA RTX Technologies

Kuwaiti gaming influencer, Khaled Al-Mutairi, also known as 'Gamer Snack', and filmmaker Mohamed Al-Roz collaborated to visualize a metropolitan city into a virtual game world. The creators teamed up to turn Kuwait City into a mirror of Night City from Cyberpunk 2077, blending the two worlds into one video. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 GPUs made the project possible, powering both gaming and content creation. Mohamed Al-Roz explored the Kuwait City landscape and captured real-life footage. The videos were retouched with neon lighting to add a cyberpunk effect and give them a futuristic setting. Gamer Snack, on the other hand, captured in-game footage from Cyberpunk 2077 with DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation and Full Ray Tracing in 4K to merge both worlds, which captured stunning visuals thanks to NVIDIA's technologies. The game was praised for its realistic visuals made possible with Full Ray Tracing. This made the in-game footage indistinguishable from real-world footage. Adding to the lifelike graphics was NVIDIA's DLSS 4, enabled at 4K resolution using an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 GPU. DLSS 4 enables gamers to multiply the games' performance by more than 8X while preserving top-tier visual quality, resulting in smooth and immersive visuals. The videos were edited on an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 platform, providing high responsiveness while managing both types of content. NVIDIA Studio platform accelerated the editing process using AI on Adobe Creative Suite. 'To me, beauty isn't in the place itself, but how you visualize it. I try to view things through emotion, not just through their form,' said Mohamed Al-Roz, talking about his experience. 'Cyberpunk 2077 offers a unique glimpse into the future. It presents a vision of life similar to our own but from an entirely new perspective. The game is stunningly beautiful, and with NVIDIA technologies like DLSS 4.0 and ray tracing, it transforms into something truly extraordinary,' said Gamer Snack. The project showcases the power of GeForce RTX 50 GPUs and how they are ideal choices for gaming and content creation. It sets a benchmark for immersive experiences, blurring the line between virtual and real worlds and opening the door for similar collaborations across different titles. All NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 GPUs are available at Quadra Stores in Kuwait. They come as standalone units, in tailored PC builds, or as laptops for gamers and creators, with options to fit every budget.
