UFC Fight Night 251's Khaos Williams: Gabriel Bonfim 'just another person in the way'
Khaos Williams wants to send a message to the MMA world, and he plans on doing so against gifted striker Gabriel Bonfim.
The two welterweights collide on the preliminary card of UFC Fight Night 251, which is set to go down on Feb. 15 in Las Vegas. It's a fight many have circled as a potential Fight of the Night. Bonfim (16-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC), former LFA champion, enters the bout as a good favorite, yet Williams (15-3 MMA, 6-2 UFC) expects to win and win convincingly.
'They're all the same to me, respectfully,' Williams told MMA Junkie Radio. 'As a fighter, you have to believe in yourself. I feel like they're all in my way. I'm a man on a mission. I'm a man on a mission. I'm going out here to make a statement because I know what I'm going to do and what I'm capable of doing.
'That's what I'm going to do. He's just another person in the way. They gave me a 16-1 test to complete in three weeks, and in three weeks, I'm going to let my actions speak for myself.'
Williams is on a two-fight winning streak. His only two losses since joining the UFC have come against seasoned veterans Randy Brown and Michel Pereira. Williams has taken big lessons from those two defeats, and plans to show that come Feb. 15.
'I believe it is more so he IQ, just going in there with these guys, and I'm getting older and wiser and just taking a little bit from each fight,' Williams said. 'What I learned from the Michelle Pereira fight was pretty much dealing with adversity, and I just figured out more about myself. Also, don't leave it to the judges. Same with the Randy fight. I thought I did enough to win. In those fight you just can't leave it to the judges, you have to what you have to do. Just little things in those fights.'

Advertisement Jasudavicius (14-3 MMA, 8-2 UFC) submitted Jessica Andrade (26-14 MMA, 17-12 UFC) less than three minutes into the opening round of the women's flyweight bout. Jasudavicius picked Andrade up and slammed her down, before quickly transitioning to her back to cinch in the rear-naked choke finish. Nominee: Benoit Saint Denis def. Kyle Prepolec at UFC 315 Benoit Saint Denis performed like a heavy favorite against short notice replacement Kyle Prepolec in their lightweight bout.
