Ayla's hosting of the Jordanian Golf League reflects the ongoing strategic partnership with the Jordanian Golf Federation. This collaboration aims to promote golf among different social groups, particularly juniors and women, to elevate skill levels, develop sports facilities, and attract regional and international championships while also encouraging Jordanian participation in global tournaments.
The 2025 Golf League introduced a new category, the "Pioneers" division, as part of the federation's policy to enhance the competition in cooperation with Ayla Oasis Development Company. This addition expands the league to six categories: the Elite category, Juniors Under 18 (male and female), Academy Players (Under 18 and Under 10), Seniors, and now the Pioneers category. Additionally, the league format has been expanded from three rounds (as in the 2024 edition) to six rounds in 2025.
The competition format has also been upgraded from the previous 'scramble' format to the internationally recognized Stroke Play system, bringing a higher level of competitiveness and excitement to individual and team events.
Kareem Al-Barghouthi, President of the Jordanian Golf Federation, highlighted the rising competitiveness in the second round, noting that players demonstrated impressive performance, which sets the stage for future rounds. He emphasized that the increased participation, technical progress, and official inclusion of the league in international rankings motivate further development to ensure the sport's sustainability.
Vice President Nasser Al-Shoumali praised Ayla Oasis Development Company for its outstanding efforts in hosting this year's league, noting that Ayla and the federation are working under a strategic plan to promote and develop golf in Jordan and the region.
Mansour Al-Kabariti, Public Relations Manager at Ayla Oasis Development, congratulated the top finishers, stating that the promising level of competition indicates even fiercer contests in the upcoming rounds of the 2025 Jordanian Golf League. He reaffirmed Ayla's commitment to advancing Jordanian golf through a series of carefully planned events designed to engage players in high-level competitions and provide golf enthusiasts with thrilling tournaments.
He also pointed out that despite the cold weather and strong winds during the championship days, all players showcased remarkable concentration and effort. Hosting regular tournaments and leagues will strengthen Jordan's reputation as a key golf destination on the international sports calendar, contributing to Aqaba's tourism promotion.
National team coach Amer Radi stressed the significance of this round, noting that it adds valuable experience to Jordanian players. He affirmed that the league's current structure fosters higher competitiveness and technical advancement.
Recently, Ayla Golf Club completed a significant renovation project, enhancing the course with improved turf, greens, and fairways while aligning with sustainability goals. The club replaced 49 high-pressure HID halogen lighting units (1,564W each) with energy-efficient LED units (670W each), reducing energy consumption by 57% in preparation for the 2025 season.
Ayla Golf Club also won four prestigious global sustainability awards at the Sustainable Luxury Awards 2024 , recognizing it as one of the most eco-friendly golf courses. The awards include: Most Sustainable 18-Hole Golf Course in the Region
Most Sustainable Desert Golf Course in the World
Most Sustainable Mountain Golf Course Locally
Most Sustainable Championship Golf Course in the Middle East
Ayla Golf Club is distinguished by its world-class facilities, featuring an 18-hole, par-72 course designed by renowned architect Greg Norman. Covering 800,000 square meters of lush landscapes, the course meets strict environmental sustainability standards, harmonizing with Ayla's unique coastal and natural surroundings. Additionally, the club houses a dedicated golf academy with a 9-hole training course , offering expert coaching from PGA-certified trainers . اضافة اعلان
