46 receive Pahang state awards and medals
TEMERLOH: The Tengku Mahkota of Pahang, Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Al-Sultan Abdullah, today conferred state honours, awards, and medals on 46 recipients in an investiture ceremony held at Dewan Tun Razak here, in conjunction with the 65th birthday of the Sultan of Pahang.
Also gracing the event were Tengku Panglima Raja Brigadier General Tengku Amir Nasser Ibrahim Shah and Tengku Panglima Perang Tengku Ahmad Ismail Mu'adzam Shah.
Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail and members of the state government leadership were also in attendance.
Leading the list of recipients was Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department acting director Datuk Muhammed Hasbullah Ali, who received the Darjah Sri Sultan Ahmad Shah Pahang (SSAP) which carries the title of Datuk Seri.
Pembinaan Sujaman Sdn Bhd director Datuk Lee Wah Lian was conferred the Darjah Sri Indera Mahkota Pahang (SIMP) award, which carries the title Datuk Indera, while Maritime Survey And Service Sdn Bhd director Suhaila Semaru received the Darjah Sultan Ahmad Shah Pahang (DSAP), which also carries the title Datuk.
A total of 23 individuals were conferred the Darjah Indera Mahkota Pahang (DIMP), which also carries the title Datuk. Among them were Chini assemblyman Mohd Sharim Md Zain and Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Legal and Prosecution Division senior deputy director Ahmad Akram Gharib.
Other recipients included Terengganu State Park Management Council director Tengku Mohd Arifin Tengku A Rahman, Pahang Corporate Management Services (PCMS) Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Abd Rahim Ahmad, Commander of Air Region 2 of the Royal Malaysian Air Force Major General Ahmad Khusairi Ahmad Fadli and Berjaya Group Berhad executive director Mohd Ghazali Abbas.
Also conferred at the ceremony were the Setia Mahkota Pahang (SMP) award to four recipients, the Ahli Ahmad Shah Pahang (AAP) to two recipients, the Ahli Mahkota Pahang (AMP) to seven recipients, the Pingat Khidmat Cemerlang (PKC) to four recipients, and the Pingat Kelakuan Terpuji (PKT) to three recipients.

Bukit Aman denies detaining stranded Haj pilgrims
PETALING JAYA: Bukit Aman has denied detaining 80 Haji pilgrims who were stranded after using tourist visas to enter Makkah. Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department acting director Comm Datuk Muhammad Hasbullah Ali refuted a news article claiming the detention in a statement on Thursday (June 5). "This is not true," he said. He explained that the group was detected on June 2 and an investigation was conducted to locate the person who promised them the required visas. "On June 2, the 'Op Haji Terkandas' team detected the group at Kuala Lumpur International Airport waiting for someone with the title 'Datuk'. This individual was believed to be responsible for handing over their relevant visas for the pilgrimage. However, those visas were never obtained," he said. Subsequently, a couple that had surrendered their passports to two individuals offering free Haji packages lodged a report. "They were promised a flight to Makkah on June 1. However, by Tuesday (June 3), there was no confirmation from the so-called package was operated by a travel agency registered as a 'pengelola jemaah haji' (Haji pilgrimage manager) in 2025," he said. The complainants told the police they were worried their personal details would be misused. "A total of seven reports have been linked to this agency. No monetary losses were reported as the packages were offered without charge," he said. Two arrests were made on Tuesday; both people are suspected of being the masterminds behind the scam. "The suspects, aged 36 and 39, were remanded until Wednesday (June 4) to assist investigations," he said. It is known that the so-called "Datuk" was arrested and checks are underway to verify the title.

Unauthorised Mujamalah visa offerings are haram, against Islamic teachings - Mohd Na'im
MAKKAH: The irresponsible act of certain individuals or agents offering Mujamalah visas without valid authentication is haram (unlawful) from the Shariah perspective and contrary to Islamic teachings, said the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs), Datuk Dr Mohd Na'im Mokhtar. He stated that deceiving others for personal gain is a clear form of fraud and should not be taken lightly by society, especially by Muslims. 'Any party that attempts to defraud others has committed an act clearly prohibited by religion,' he said at a press conference at the Tabung Haji (TH) Headquarters here today. Yesterday, the acting director of the Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID), Datuk Seri Muhammed Hasbullah Ali, reminded the public to be more cautious when purchasing Hajj pilgrimage packages following Saudi Arabia's move to tighten the issuance of Mujamalah visas to Malaysian citizens. Mohd Na'im said that the offering of Mujamalah visas by unauthorised parties not only violates national laws but also leads to the illegal appropriation of others' rights. 'This is a form of exploitation that takes advantage of some people's desire to perform Hajj or Umrah, ultimately leading them to be defrauded, and this act is oppression and carries a great sin in the eyes of religion,' he said. Therefore, Mohd Na'im advised the public to be more careful and not to be easily swayed by sweet promises from individuals or agents who do not have official authorisation from the authorities. In the same vein, Mohd Na'im said the government welcomed Saudi Arabia's move to tighten controls at all borders and entry points to Masjidil Haram in an effort to curb the entry of individuals without valid Hajj visas. He also reminded Malaysian pilgrims to always adhere to all regulations set by the Saudi Arabian Government, including wearing the Nusuk Card and identity wristbands to ensure the smooth performance of their worship and personal safety throughout their stay in the Holy Land. 'Pilgrims are also reminded not to engage in any activities that could violate local laws, including participating in unauthorised gatherings or recording sensitive content in restricted areas to avoid any action from the Saudi Arabian authorities,' he said. Meanwhile, Mohd Na'im said the last flight carrying Malaysian pilgrims for this season is scheduled to arrive tomorrow (June 1) at 10.20 am local time.
