Starlink to launch in India: With its high-speed satellite internet services, Elon Musk's Starlink is poised to light up the Indian sky. The stage is prepared for Starlink's India debut, which is anticipated to transform the nation's internet environment after months of anticipation. However, what can Indians anticipate from this state-of-the-art technology?
Starlink hopes to close the digital divide, particularly in underserved and rural areas, with its strong bandwidth and low-latency connectivity. Everyone wonders about plans, availability, and pricing as the business prepares to launch its services.
To find out what this implies for internet customers in India, let's examine the specifics of Starlink's introduction, features, and pricing.
Starlink expected launch timeline for India
Elon Musk's long-awaited satellite internet service, Starlink, is anticipated to launch shortly in India. The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has sent the company a Letter of Intent, indicating that the regulatory procedure is well underway, according to a report by NDTV Profit. The official rollout is expected within the next year.

About Starlink launch in India
According to sources, Starlink will launch with bandwidth ranging from 600Gbps to 700Gbps, serving between 30,000 and 50,000 people in a few cities. By 2027, the business intends to increase this to 3Tbps, allowing for wider service coverage throughout India.
It is anticipated that Starlink will revolutionize internet access in rural and isolated areas with inadequate traditional broadband infrastructure. Previously underserved locations can now receive high-speed internet thanks to a network of low-Earth orbit satellites.
Starlink's expected price in India
The Economic Times revealed a leak that suggests monthly subscriptions start at just USD 10 (about Rs 850), while final pricing information is still awaited. This is much less expensive than the current pricing of USD 80 in the US. Unlimited data may also be offered during the launch phase as part of promotional deals to entice early users.
Starlink will incur significant regulatory costs despite its aggressive pricing strategy. A monthly fee of Rs 500 per urban user, a revenue share of 4%, an 8% licensing fee, and an annual spectrum fee of Rs 3,500 are all suggested by TRAI. Although they have not yet been approved, these could impact long-term pricing.
For its hardware kit in other areas, Starlink charges a one-time cost of USD 349 (about Rs 29,700). The exact price in India is unknown; however, it will be changed to reflect the local market.
Starlink has the potential to upend India's internet market with prices as low as Rs 850 and plans to launch nationally. Users in remote areas now face limited connectivity and may particularly benefit from the service. Starlink has the potential to close the digital gap in India and bring about a new era of internet accessibility if it is implemented correctly.
B2B deal of Airtel and Jio
The business will introduce several subscription plans after concluding business-to-business agreements with Indian ISPs Reliance Jio, Vodafone, and Bharti Airtel. According to the article, Starlink will provide its clients with a DTC model and the basic model routed through ISPs.
Stalink's premium offering will be the direct-to-consumer business model. The subscriber will receive a personal ground station under this arrangement, which will cost approximately Rs 50,000.

Defence testing lab to come up at Sidco estate in Trichy

1 2 Trichy: Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (Tidco) has finalised a 1.4 acre site inside Thuvakudi Small Industries development Corporation (Sidco) industrial estate near NIT Trichy to develop Advancing Mechanical & Material Defence Testing lab at an outlay of Rs 50 crore. The integrated testing facility will function under public-private collaboration involving major public sector companies including BEML and HAL to engage in high-end testing and certification of materials for aerospace and defence companies in the state. Proposed under Defence Testing Infrastructure Scheme (DTIS), the lab, named System Testing and Research in Advanced Material (STREAM) foundation, will have comprehensive infrastructure comprising at least 40 testing machinery on 13,000 square feet floor space. As the state govt already has a built-up space of 3,000 square feet in Thuvakudi Sidco complex, Tidco has simultaneously launched procurement procedures to buy material testing equipment while expanding the built-up space. "The aerospace and defence testing lab will decentralize the investment and boost Tamil Nadu's leadership in defence and aerospace sector. Since Trichy as a node of the defence industrial corridor has an established ecosystem for metal fabrication, the lab will be a game changer," Wing Commander P Madhusoodhanan, vice-president, (aerospace and defence), Tidco, told TOI. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với mức chênh lệch giá thấp nhất IC Markets Đăng ký Undo As the aerospace and defence sector requires high quality standards, lack of a comprehensive material testing facility in Trichy was so far discouraging industries from exploring new business areas. Once the facility becomes operational, testing requirements will be satisfied locally, said Tidco officials. "The material testing lab in Thuvakudi is set to play an important role in the state's industrial ecosystem. Skill development service for workers will be provided at the lab. Volume of production done by local companies will certainly increase. Initially, around 30-40 people will be employed in the testing lab," Angayasamy Subbiah, managing partner, Vaidheswaran industries, an industry partner of the proposed STREAM Lab, said. The proposed common testing facility will provide quality certification and validation services for local industries to manufacture products for major defence and aerospace companies. "Not only defence and aerospace, even ancillary units of Bhel Trichy will benefit since material grade and quality testing is a key component in manufacturing," N Kanagasabapathy, coordinator, Bhel small-scale industries (Bhelsia), said. The integrated testing lab is set to become operational by December. Tidco said that the lab will run as a non-profit company, generating revenue only to sustain the operations and maintenance.

Committed to comprehensive devpt of Alnavar taluk: Lad

Dharwad: District minister Santosh Lad has affirmed his commitment to the overall development of the newly formed Alnavar taluk. He said continuous efforts are being made to make Alnavar a model taluk by taking up various development works. Speaking after laying the foundation stone for the construction of Praja Soudha in Alnavar on Tuesday, the minister expressed his commitment to developing Alnavar taluk holistically and providing all necessary basic infrastructure to both the taluk headquarters and every village within the taluk. "The state govt has sanctioned Rs 8.6 crore for the construction of the Praja Soudha, which will include modern amenities for public and administrative use," Lad said. "Though the Praja Soudha is being constructed on the outskirts of the town, the area will soon become central as Alnavar expands," he said. "Importantly, no private or farmer's land was acquired for this; the building is being constructed on available govt land in a location convenient for the public, keeping future traffic and crowd considerations in mind," Lad said. "Aadhaar has been linked to the land records (Pahanis) of 15,988 farmers in Alnavar taluk, achieving 96.30% progress," he added. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like American Investor Warren Buffett Recommends: 5 Books For Turning Your Life Around Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo Under the Bhoosuraksha project, 3,90,054 pages of land records in the taluk have been digitised.
