The mum-of-three who shares daughters Ava and Hero with ex-husband Graham Quinn, and son Apollo with partner Simon Motson - said the choking scare happened when Hero, now 13, was a baby.
"She choked on one of those dayglo stars you stick on the ceiling,' the ex Hear'Say star recalled.
She credits her first aid training with saving her daughter's life - and now refuses to keep the decorations, sold for as little as £2 a pack, anywhere in the house.
Asked whether the star had fallen from the ceiling, Myleene clarified: 'She found it. She was so little, she couldn't even speak.'
"Not just because she was choking, she physically couldn't communicate what had happened.'
Describing the moment she realised something was wrong, Myleene said her daughter 'stumbled' into the kitchen, "holding her throat", while she was doing the washing up.
"Her face had gone blue and then she just dropped to the floor. It was the longest five minutes of my life," she explained.
When someone is choking, it means that the oxygen supply to the lungs is obstructed, the first aiders explained.
This in turn cuts off the supply of oxygen to the brain.
The lack of oxygen to the brain has widespread ramifications for the rest of the body, which become more serious with every minute.
Children First Aid: Choking
If your child doesn't receive oxygen to their brain for one to four minutes, they'll lose consciousness, according to Headway, a brain injury charity.
After three minutes, the neurons in their brain will get damaged.
Permanent brain damage becomes much more likely after four minutes of your tot not being able to breathe.
After 10 minutes, a child could slip into a coma and lasting brain damage becomes almost inevitable if their brain is still alive.
Survival becomes almost impossible after 15 minutes.
This is why it's imperative that parents learn choking first aid.

Using her first aid knowlegde, Myleene sprung into action.
'I turned her upside down, well, not literally, but she was small enough that I could lay her across my forearm," she said.
"I gave her a firm back blow and eventually she vomited it up,' she added.
"Then she just toddled off as if nothing had happened. I was left a complete wreck.'
Your sign to get trained
Myleene's first aid training also helped her save her other daughter, Ava, during a choking incident when she was a tween.
Both "terrfiying" experiences drove her to earn a more professional qualification with St John Ambulance, she said.
In a post she shared on Instagram in June of herself doing the training and wearing the first aid uniform, she wrote: "The only thing worse would have been not knowing what to do.
"I had done first aid, but now I wanted to learn it to a more sort of professional level," she explained on the podast.
"This might be your sign to get first aid trained." she added.

The five warning signs your child might be choking
According to the NHS, choking is common in young children, especially during play or mealtimes.
This is because they often explore objects by putting them in their mouths.
Parents are advised to keep small items out of reach, cut food into small pieces, and familiarise themselves with first aid techniques.

Braless Myleene Klass steps out in all-white outfit as she strolls through London amid Frankie Bridge and Rochelle Humes feud

Myleene Klass turned heads in an all-white outfit as she strolled through London amid her alleged feud with Frankie Bridge and Rochelle Humes. The 47-year-old former Hear'Say songstress went braless in a chic flowing dress as she walked through the busy city on Saturday, making her way to the Smooth Radio studios. The presenter - who is said to have fallen out with former The Saturdays bandmates Frankie and Rochelle - appeared in good spirits as she posed up a storm. Myleene looked sensational in a summery outfit which showed off her incredibly toned physique. She added a huge red Chanel flap bag to accessorise, drawing attention to her effortless appearance. Myleene seemed to shrug off any trace of a feud, looking carefree during her walk. Myleene is said to be at loggerheads with TV personalities Frankie and Rochelle - both former clients of her bodyguard ex-husband. The trio all used to hang out together, with Loose Women hosts Myleene and Frankie attending Rochelle's hen do in 2012. According to new claims, ITV have been forced to step in to help smooth things in the decade-long feud, which is just now coming to light. Yet the following year, Myleene is said to have believed she was being 'blanked' by Frankie and confronted her at the 2013 Glamour Women of the Year awards - which is when the pair requested not to work together. Meanwhile Myleene's feud with Rochelle is said to have been sparked after The Saturdays star recently shared a picture of herself on holiday in Ibiza with husband Marvin and Myleene's ex-husband Graham Quinn. Graham used to work as JLS' tour manager and earlier this month Myleene accused him of cheating on her with an unknown star. According to insiders close to the situation, Rochelle sharing the photo on Instagram the same week she made the revelation was 'game over' for Myleene. It's the latest twist as it's been reported that there has been an underlying conflict between Myleene, Rochelle and Frankie, who all work at ITV. Frankie's representatives have told Daily Mail that there is 'absolutely no feud' between the pair, while those close to Rochelle insist there is 'no feud'. Myleene's representative declined to comment on the situation when the Daily Mail previously reached out for comment. Frankie posted a cryptic social media post on Monday that was captioned: 'You're so quiet… Thanks, you said something five years ago and I've just realised you're actually dead to me.' The TikTok video showed Frankie sipping on a glass of wine and was set to the music of Avril Lavigne's What The Hell. Frankie then added below: 'Takes me a while, but once you're dead you're dead.' She didn't specify who or what incident she was talking about in the post. As for Myleene, she hit headlines last week when she publicly addressed ex-husband Graham's cheating scandal. Graham, 47, started dating Myleene in 2001, having met when he worked as security guard for her pop group Hear'Say. The couple went on to welcome daughters Ava, 17, and Hero, 14, and tied the knot in 2011 after a decade together - only to separate six months later. Speaking on Paul Brunson's We Need To Talk podcast, the mother-of- three, who is also a mother to son Apollo, five, said: 'I walked in on him with a famous person on my birthday on a balcony.' Turning her thoughts towards the other woman, Myleene said: 'I've made peace with that situation now, but for a long time, it was very difficult to see their life. 'My life literally just broke apart very, very publicly and their life, they've managed to continue building a family brand on it. I have to take some accountability. 'Look, you know, first and foremost to my children. My children have asked enough questions and it's never been a case of laying out my stall now. 'It's got to be as and when. But here's the funny thing - school mums, people who just want to gossip, will go to your children before anybody else.' According to the TV presenter, the pair tried to claim that it wasn't what it looked like and she continued: 'I'm in my house, it's my party. They weren't having sex, but they were unzipping each other. 'It's not what you think'. But I'm like, 'It is what I think'. 'It's the first thing they both said. I kicked everyone out of the party, including his mum and dad. They went back to Ireland and his dad said: 'He doesn't get it from me'. 'I remember thinking that was quite a weird thing to say,' she told the love expert. Graham tried to blame the affair on being drunk. Myleene admitted the whole ordeal was a 'pretty big red flag' but still went through with their wedding in October 2011.

Inside the huge Portuguese hotel that's its own holiday destination – with pop star shows and swim-up cocktail bars

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) YOU don't often get to sip a cocktail on a clifftop, under an orange sunset, while Ronan Keating prepares to perform for you. But it turns out that's exactly what you can expect at the Pine Cliffs Resort on the sun-kissed Algarve. Think postcard-perfect beaches, a backdrop of red-ochre cliffs and five-star facilities that make you feel like A-listers. Our trip coincided with Pine Cliffs' annual Summer Gala, the resort's most glamorous event of the year. And it truly delivered on every front. The evening began with a glitzy cocktail reception on the manicured green of the driving range, as the golden Algarve sun dipped behind the cliffs. A saxophonist filled the air with smooth jazz while guests mingled over glasses of fizz. Taking our seats at tables with pearly white linen for an extravagant three-course buffet, we were serenaded by various singers. Then came the show-stopping moment: Ronan Keating took to the stage. The former Boyzone member's voice, as smooth as the champagne, had the crowd singing, swaying and swooning. To top the night off, when Ronan finished his last song, fireworks burst into the summer sky, lighting it up. We couldn't have asked for a more magical night. But the gala was just the cherry on top of what turned out to be one of the most relaxing getaways we've ever had. Martin Lewis warns about strict passport rule that could see you board your flight - only to get sent home on arrival Pine Cliffs is a haven for both adrenaline junkies and sun-worshippers. The resort also seems as able to cater for family fun as it can for couples on romantic getaways. While I happily spent hours lounging on Falesia beach, sunbathing with a book, my partner Jonah threw himself into the water sports. He loved paddle-boarding along the clear, calm shoreline. I won't lie — it was more wobbly than graceful, but he laughed the whole way through. The resort also offers kayaking, jet skis and couch/banana boat rides. For those in search of next-level pampering, the Serenity Spa at Pine Cliffs is unmissable. I indulged in the 80-minute Senses Of The Algarve body scrub, a heavenly experience blending local carob and soothing oils. The therapists here are miracle workers, and I floated out of the spa feeling like I'd left all my stress on the massage table. While the resort has various accommodation options, including villas and apartments, we were staying in the main hotel. Our room was spacious and beautifully presented, with a luxurious, oversized bathroom that felt like a private spa. If you're a foodie — and who isn't on holiday — Pine Cliffs will spoil you rotten A highlight was the charming terrace, perfect for relaxing while taking in the fresh Algarve air. But the highlight? The Wagyu steak at the Piri Piri Steak House was hands down the best we've ever tasted. Melt-in-the-mouth perfection. Pristine golf course Our waiter Paolo was so knowledgeable and made the entire meal an experience. The resort has 15 top-tier restaurants and bars, from the elegant O Pescador, serving seafood with ocean views, to Zest, where we grabbed healthy poke bowls and salads for lunch. And for a romantic lunch, Maré at Pine Cliffs Beach Club offered the perfect seaside setting with fresh grilled fish and chilled vinho verde. Jonah, an avid golfer, was in his element on Pine Cliffs' spectacular nine-hole golf course, perched on the cliff edge with jaw-dropping views over the Atlantic. He played twice during our stay and raved about the challenging layout and pristine condition. We also both enjoyed a one-hour padel-tennis lesson with ace coach Joao. Burning off some of the incredible meals, while having such fun, was great. We're now completely hooked on the sport. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming, and the service was impeccable There are also tennis courts, a gym with spectacular sea views, and even a kids' club if you're travelling as a family. The resort's eight swimming pools are another highlight. From an adults-only oasis in the Serenity spa to a large family lagoon-style option, there is a pool to suit every taste. We particularly enjoyed the one by Corda Café at the heart of the resort — perhaps due to its swim-up cocktail bar! Pine Cliffs manages to blend luxury with a warm, relaxed atmosphere. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming, and the service was impeccable. Whether you're after a romantic escape, an active break, or a place to unwind in set in stunning natural surroundings, Pine Cliffs ticks every box — and then some. We came for Ronan . . . but stayed for the sun, sea, steak and serenity. Once you've experienced Pine Cliffs, you'll be planning your next visit before you've even left.

The corporation had already launched an inquiry into its flagship Saturday night family show amid claims two of its stars had used cocaine. It is understood that detectives from the Met Police are examining other allegations relating to the telly ballroom hit, which has been rocked by a string of controversies. Our latest shock revelation comes as the BBC prepares to launch Strictly's 23rd series next month - after officially announcing the line-up of celebrities including reality TV star Dani Dyer. A source told The Sun on Sunday: 'It's a significant new development in the BBC's recent string of crises that they have now got the police involved in investigating allegations surrounding Strictly. "This is a very dramatic turn of events. 'Despite all the show and its team have been through over recent months, it's hugely controversial that you've now got Scotland Yard detectives probing Strictly. 'This is their biggest prime-time family entertainment show, so it's not a good look for the BBC.' Strictly has been the subject of inquiries into bullying and inappropriate behaviour over the past 14 months. But this is believed to be the first time the BBC has been in contact with the police over allegations linked to the show. Strictly Come Dancing 2025 lineup IN FULL - including Game of Thrones star & famous YouTuber It is understood the matter was referred by the BBC after it launched an inquiry, conducted by external lawyers Pinsent Masons, into alleged drug use on the show. The Sun on Sunday reported two weeks ago how it was 'well known' that two Strictly stars took cocaine. It was claimed one accused another of being 'off their face' - saying: 'Have you seen their pupils?' It's hugely controversial that you've now got Scotland Yard detectives probing Strictly Source Lawyers were brought in after ex-Strictly star and opera singer Wynne Evans made allegations in a legal submission to the BBC in March. In relation to the drugs allegations, the BBC said a fortnight ago: 'We have clear protocols and policies in place for dealing with any serious complaint raised with us. 'We would always encourage people to speak to us if they have concerns. 'It would not be appropriate for us to comment further.' Plunged into crisis The BBC previously investigated bullying allegations by actress Amanda Abbington against pro Giovanni Pernice. Graziano Di Prima was fired over claims he kicked celeb partner Zara McDermott. Earlier this year Evans was dumped by the BBC after he was filmed making a 'spit-roast' comment to EastEnder Jamie Borthwick at the Strictly tour photocall. In June Borthwick was suspended after The Sun on Sunday revealed he made an offensive slur against disabled people and Blackpool. It was also claimed he filmed himself messing around with a sex toy in a Strictly tour dressing room. The BBC has also been plunged into a crisis over its cookery show MasterChef, with co-hosts Gregg Wallace and John Torode fired. Meanwhile, corporation chiefs have also been probing claims of bullying on BBC Breakfast, including allegations about host Naga Munchetty's behaviour. Last night Scotland Yard said: 'On Monday 4 August, the Metropolitan Police received a third-party allegation. "The police investigation is in its early stages. No arrests have been made at this time.' We approached the BBC for comment.
