It was the exact same time we were shooting.' She had a meeting with Spielberg and told him, ''I don't know how aware you are, but I'm a massive Jurassic fan,' and he was like, 'What?' I'm like, 'I am. I actually really am, and I want to be in any part of this film.' It was so surreal.'
Of her character, Zora Bennett, Johansson said she consulted many military troops to get the backstory right.
She's a member of the Armed Forces. She is privately contracted at this stage. She's dedicated her life to helping other people, and she is worn down, to say the very least. 'I've had the good fortune to meet a lot of members of the Armed Forces. I've done several USO tours, and met with literally thousands of troops and met people that have incredible military careers… I created this character inspired by my time spent with people that have dedicated their lives to the military, and that ingredient is in there.'

It is set five years after Jurassic World: Dominion (2022), and the planet has become inhospitable to dinosaurs, meaning those that still exist have been isolated to environments that mimic the conditions in which they once thrived. The three biggest creatures in the tropical biosphere prove helpful in a drug that would save the lives of many humans.
Zora and Duncan's mission to aid Friend's Krebs stumbles upon a stranded family of civilians whose boat was shipwrecked by rogue aquatic dinosaurs. The team and family find themselves stranded on an island that holds a deep dark secret unknown to the world for decades.

Why Rick Moranis returning for Spaceballs 2 is a big deal
Thursday's announcement of the Spaceballs sequel hitting theaters in 2027 with the great Mel Brooks back as the omnipotent (and Spaceballs merch-laden) Yogurt was already great enough to begin with. However, the reported return of legendary comedic actor Rick Moranis as the Darth Vader spoof Dark Helmet by Deadline pushed this wave of movie news over the edge into truly special territory. Moranis remains one of the most beloved comedy actors of his generation, as the SC-TV alum transitioned into a successful film career. Beloved films of his include the Ghostbusters series, Strange Brew, Little Shop of Horrors, the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids series, Parenthood, Streets of Fire, My Blue Heaven and Little Giants. Outside of a handful of voice roles, including Disney's Brother Bear, Moranis hasn't acted in a live-action film since 1997's direct-to-video Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves. He hasn't acted in a live-action film sent to theaters since the Moranis-Tom Arnold two-hander Big Bully in 1996. Moranis did provide a voice cameo on the ABC sitcom The Goldbergs as Dark Helmet in 2018, but this will be his first official reprisal of the character and his biggest project in film or television since Brother Bear. Moranis never technically retired, but he told The Hollywood Reporter in 2015 he has no regrets about his extended acting hiatus. The publication wrote that his late wife, Ann, died from breast cancer in 1997, and he chose to focus on raising his two children after that tragic event. 'I was working with really interesting people, wonderful people,' Moranis told THR about his life before his break from the industry. 'I went from that to being at home with a couple of little kids, which is a very different lifestyle. But it was important to me. I have absolutely no regrets whatsoever. My life is wonderful.' Moranis had agreed to star in Disney's Honey, I Shrunk the Kids reboot with Josh Gad, but the latter shared in 2023 that the COVID-19 pandemic, scheduling and budget concerns all played a role in derailing that project. Now 72, Moranis will now officially work with Gad and reunite with Brooks and Bill Pullman, who will reprise his Spaceballs role as the Luke Skywalker/Han Solo parody Lone Starr, for the comedy sequel. Gad co-wrote the film's script and is expected to have an acting role in the project. Nope's Keke Palmer also reportedly has a role in the sequel. While this isn't Moranis' first sequel, the Spaceballs follow-up's 2027 arrival will bring Moranis back to the screen for the first time in 31 years. May the Schwartz be with him in his anticipated theatrical return. This article originally appeared on For The Win: Rick Moranis in Spaceballs 2 is a big deal

'Spaceballs 2' is on its way, with Mel Brooks, Bill Pullman, and Rick Moranis reprising their roles
The Schwartz has been awakened! That's right: Writer-director Mel Brooks' cult classic Spaceballs is getting a sequel, 40 years after the sci-fi parody's original release. Jury's still out on whether it will be called Spaceballs 2: The The Search for More Money, as the original film joked. SEE ALSO: The 10 best movies of 2025 (so far), and where to watch them Amazon MGM Studios announced the sequel will be arriving in theaters in 2027, with a video of Brooks himself discussing making more Spaceballs. "After 40 years, we asked, 'What do the fans want?'" Brooks says. "But instead, we're making this movie." The video also sends up just how drastically the franchise landscape has changed since Spaceballs' 1987 release. In an opening title crawl, the video reminds us that there are now three Star Wars trilogies, several spin-off TV shows, and a whole host of other massive franchises, like "36 MCU movies with two different Robert Downey Jr.'s." So where will Spaceballs 2 fit into the world of franchises? Is it a sequel? A prequel? A reboot? According to its log line, it's actually "A Non-Prequel Non-Reboot Sequel Part Two but with Reboot Elements Franchise Expansion Film." While Spaceballs 2's plot details are currently under wraps, there's still lots to get excited about. Brooks will be reprising the role of Yogurt, Spaceballs' Yoda stand-in who encourages hero Lone Starr (Bill Pullman) to use the Schwartz. According to Deadline, Pullman is also set to return in Spaceballs 2, along with Rick Moranis, who played Spaceballs' villainous Dark Helmet. The role would mark Moranis' return to live-action films after a hiatus of 28 years. (Moranis did do voice work, like Brother Bear, as well as TV work during this time.) On top of the returning Spaceballs cast members, Spaceballs 2 will star Keke Palmer. Josh Gad is also expected to star. Gad wrote the script alongside Benji Samit and Dan Hernandez. Josh Greenbaum (Will & Harper, Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar) will direct. Spaceballs 2 hits theaters in 2027.
