Perak are out of Super League next year, and club for sale now

Past memories: Perak celebrate their 2000 Malaysia Cup victory with late coach Karl Weigang after beating Negri Sembilan in Shah Alam.
PETALING JAYA: Perak are out of next year's Super League - unless they can find a white knight in a hurry.
Owners XOX Bhd have officially pulled out and this will see Perak out of the league for the first time in a century, which marks a sad day for Malaysian football.
Perak football, founded in 1921 (104 years ago), had played in every league until now. They have won the Malaysia Cup eight times.
Perak chairman Datuk Seri Abdul Azim Mohd Zabidi said the owners XOX Bhd had officially withdrawn from next season's Super League and bringing the state team's journey to a sad closure.
"We started with big dreams - to build something sustainable, something Perakians could be proud of. We believed that with your support, we could create a club that wasn't just competitive, but rooted in community and passion," said Azmi in a statement.
"We walked into a club burdened by nearly RM8mil in unpaid wages from the past. We cleared that, and we gave everything we had - time, belief, and nearly RM40mil over three years.
"But the reality is that the support we needed didn't grow the way we hoped. Support from Perak's public and private sectors never came in and the expected growth in Perak's subscriber base fell very short of expectations.
"The internal funds have now dried up, and we just can't keep going.
"Whatever funds remain - from merchandise, league dues, and our final budget - will go towards settling what we owe. It will not be enough, but it's all we have left."
Azim said the team will continue to operate to sell their remaining merchandise, to raise funds.
Every single cent raised will be diverted to the obligations due, no different to the past three years, where every single cent derived from income went to the wellbeing and the operations of the club.
Azim said the club was for sale and has asked any conglomerates or businesses to come forward and state their interest.

Stonepeak Partners' Reported Acquisition Of Yinson Could Value The Deal At RM9 Billion

Yinson Holdings Bhd - FSO (FPSO) Helang New York-based infrastructure investment firm Stonepeak Partners is reportedly in exclusive negotiations to acquire Malaysian energy infrastructure company Yinson Holdings Berhad, in a deal that could value the company at up to RM9 billion (US$2.1 billion). The development was first reported by Bloomberg. According to analysis by CIMB Research, this valuation translates to approximately RM3.23 per share, based on Yinson's 2.784 billion existing shares. CIMB Research indicated that if the report proves accurate, these exclusive talks could pave the way for a privatisation offer for the remaining shares of Yinson. Yinson's current market capitalisation stands at around RM6.5 billion. CIMB Research noted that the exclusivity arrangement suggests the deal has entered advanced stages of negotiation. The Lim family, who founded Yinson, currently holds a significant 26.6% stake in the company. The research house also commented that Stonepeak's investment focus appears to align well with Yinson's strategic direction, particularly given Yinson's growing presence in floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) and renewable energy sectors. From a valuation perspective, CIMB Research highlighted that the indicative RM9.0 billion take-private valuation, equivalent to RM3.23 per share, implies a substantial 38.0% premium to Yinson's last closing price. Relative to CIMB Research's own target price of RM2.93, the proposed acquisition price would represent a slight premium of 10.2%, suggesting potential additional upside should a formal offer materialize. Cklamovski and team shut out external distractions to deliver on the field

KUALA LUMPUR: There are negative vibes outside the walls of the national team camp but inside, head coach Peter Cklamovski is instilling positivity. As Malaysia gear up for their pivotal clash against Vietnam in the 2027 Asian Cup third-round qualifiers at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil today, the Australian coach sent out a strong message – they will continue to focus on rebuilding. He said the outside noise in regards to the mixed-heritage call-up and eligibility issues won't derail what is being built from within, which is unity and an ambition that is tied deeply to a long-term vision. "All these don't distract us internally. We've had a good preparation and we're ready to come out at the stadium and do the country proud," said Cklamovski. "We've got new players from abroad - Malaysians who are proud every time they wear the jersey and train. We're building a family atmosphere, and we'll show that tomorrow night." While critics and pundits have been fixated on naturalised players and perceived divides, Cklamovski insists the squad are only focused on progression, unity, and delivering for the fans, especially with the strategic backing of Johor Regent Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim. "This isn't about one game, it's about changing mindsets and rewriting Malaysia's football story," said Cklamovski. "We are building a long-term legacy. And to do that, we need all Malaysians behind us." Malaysia haven't beaten Vietnam since 2014, a record that Cklamovski is eager to put behind them. "Instead of being fearful, we want to embrace the challenge. Create a new history. We're ready for Vietnam to play their best game, we want to be at our best every day." Since the centralised camp began on May 11, Cklamovski and his team have worked through every layer of preparation, from physical conditioning to instilling tactical identity. "Despite many players being in the off-season, they've shown great professionalism. Everything has gone to plan. "Our style is built on principles and progression. We've rotated all 30 players to assess and build chemistry. Every one of them knows what is expected." One of the standout additions has been Facundo Garces, a towering centreback who plays in Spain's La Liga and now dons the Malaysian colours. "Facundo is a high-level player. He brings elite standards and a mentality of never wasting a second. Some players have sacrificed a lot to be here, and he's connected with the team so well. That rubs off on others." Cklamovski urged fans to recognise the stakes and get behind the project being built with an eye not just on Vietnam, but the bigger picture.
