Katseye's Cool and Comfortable Denim Is All You'll Want to Wear This Fall
Every item on this page was chosen by an ELLE editor. We may earn commission on some of the items you choose to buy. 2025 is shaping up to be quite the year for Katseye, the Los Angeles-based girl group consisting of Lara, Yoonchae, Daniela, Megan, Manon, and Sophia. Originally founded in 2023 through the competition series Dream Academy, the group has quickly amassed a global following, landing them on some of the world's biggest stages. Their schedules are currently jam-packed as they prep for their upcoming Beautiful Chaos tour, and festival season is no exception—the ensemble just got done making their Lollapalooza debut. It was their biggest event to date, and pre-performance nerves ran high. Sophia tells ELLE that even their managers could tell they were anxious, but the performers quickly channeled the audience's collective energy and seized the moment in what ended up being an incredible experience. However, it hasn't been all work and no play. They were recently spotted attending Blackpink's Deadline tour. 'We're all 'Blinks'—they're all over our Pinterest boards,' Sophia says. This summer, Katseye also teamed up with Gap and renowned choreographer Robbie Blue for the retailer's 'Better in Denim' campaign, the latest in a series that revitalizes the beloved dance-centric ads from the early 2000s. (Over the last year, Troye Sivan and Tyla have also starred in campaign spots.) To the tune of Kelis's iconic hit 'Milkshake,' the group channels peak Y2K pop star energy in denim mini skirts, low rise jeans, and custom bralettes. The singers felt cool, confident, and comfortable—their ideal style equation. 'I had the space to blend styles that wouldn't normally sit next to each other—Fosse technique, ballet, hip-hop, and jazz funk,' says Blue. 'It became a dance through decades, just like denim. The clothes moved with the choreography, never against it, and that freedom of movement allowed me and the dancers to tap into something bigger.' Below, the group opens up about finding their own rhythm onstage, their personal style, and the jeans they like best. Daniela: That crowd—let me just say, we were not expecting that many people to show up at all. But once I got on stage, I felt like I was free—like I was at home. We had been rehearsing for many, many weeks and we had never performed in front of such a large crowd before. It was our first festival and after getting off the stage, we had so much adrenaline we wanted to keep going. We were like, 'Let's do it again.' Sophia: It really felt like the six of us belonged there. We were so nervous coming in. I could feel it, collectively, the moment when we were all just letting go. Manon: We're about to do another two festivals—Summer Sonic in Osaka and Tokyo. Sophia: Our first tour ever is the next thing! Lara: Coachella would be a dream, or performing at the Grammy Awards or the VMAs—an iconic performance. Manon: I think 'M.I.A.' is our favorite. It's so high energy. Megan: I like to be very free, but at the same time I love showing a little skin and being hot and confident. Daniela: I love to incorporate my day-to-day style on the stage, like low-waisted jeans and tank tops. As long as I feel confident, that's all that matters. Sophia: I feel like I'm the opposite. There's a touch of my everyday, but when I'm choosing my onstage outfits, there's a different kind of silhouette and vibe. I love that 'Hannah Montana' double life. Daniela: We loved working with the Gap team. Everyone was so kind, such genuine people. Robbie is so talented—it was an honor to be able to work with him because he's so iconic. The moves felt so comfortable in my body. Manon: They had me wear a custom denim bralette. I loved the way it fit. I was about to steal it! Megan: I really liked the men's baggy jeans that I wore. They made me feel really confident but at the same time comfortable, which I really value in a pair of jeans. Daniela: For me, it was the SecondSkin Bodysuit—and you know bodysuits can be a little bit uncomfortable—but this one was so stretchy and flexible. I could dance in it so easily. Lara: I had this denim bralette, too. It was almost like a corset; it was really hot. Yoonchae: I also wore a custom denim top and racing jacket that was tailored directly on my body. It fit perfectly. Sophia: For me, it was the Pin-Cuff Crop Icon denim jacket—I love when cropped jackets fall off the shoulder. This interview has been edited and condensed for clarity.

Reformation Is Having a Huge 50% off Sale Right Now
I am not a morning person. The opposite, really. I begrudgingly drag myself out of bed each morning with the lure of hot coffee and quiet delusion I'll make it through my to-do list without at least one menty b (it never happens). Howevs, today was different! I sprung off the mattress with a genuine zest for life. Why, you ask??? Because Reformation's end-of-summer sale is here and includes practically everything on my wish list. While technically the annual event kicked off last week, the real fun is just beginning. The hottest styles—including dresses, skirts, sets, you name it—are 50% off (!!!) right now. So, whether you're just grabbing a few standout pieces to carry you through the season, or your prefrontal lobe finally developed enough to swap your regretful impulse purchases for a new capsule wardrobe, this is The Sale ™️. You can take my word for it—my prefrontal lobe is fully developed! And while this won't be my only Reformation haul (we have a few weeks left and discounts are bound to go up), I can't imagine topping my current cart. The Marina Silk Dress, for example, checks allllll my boxes—it's lightweight, comes in the season's hottest print (polka dots!), and will transition so well into fall with a blazer or cardi. I'm also buying this belted denim jacket that levels up the wardrobe staple, button-down sweater dress, which feels like the perf transitional piece, and an under-$75 mini skirt that will look soooo cute with boots. I'm not just shopping everyday styles, though. Reformation is my fave destination for wedding guest looks—this $200-off floor-length number has seen many bouquet tosses—so I'm using the sale as the perfect excuse to stock up. This half-off cowl neck design is the kinda dress I'd wear if an ex was attending the same nuptials (or the best man was really hot), and this Cari halter moment feels like a cool twist on classic that I'll never tire of. Since I'm so obsessed with my other silk Ref dress, it only feels right to invest in another. This low-back-halter neck combo is elegant and flirty at the same priced at under $175?? It would be criminal not to buy. Oh, and ICYMI, The Summer I Turned Pretty wardrobe is basically a love letter to Reformation this season. Snag Belly's Daria Dress or the cutesie matching set she wore to plan her (hopefully soon-to-be cancelled) wedding to Jeremiah while they're 50% off. Or, celebrate celebrate Taylor Swift's Life of a Showgirl announcement with one of my fave dresses she's ever worn—this adorbs gingham style from last year's U.S. Open. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a very busy day ahead—of refreshing my order status until my package ships <3 Megan Schaltegger is an NYC-based writer. She loves strong coffee, eating her way through the Manhattan food scene, and her dog, Murray. She promises not to talk about herself in third person IRL.

Sony Music Japan Signs AI Idol Yuri in Industry-First Deal
Sony Music Entertainment (Japan) Inc. has officially signed Yuri, an advanced AI-generated idol, in what is being described as a landmark moment for the music industry. Following her debut, Yuri's first single, 'Surreal,' has surpassed 7 million streams and views globally within one week, signaling a strong public response to the emergence of autonomous digital performers. The music video for 'Surreal,' released on July 22, features an emotionally charged visual and vocal performance generated in collaboration between human producers and Yuri's internal neural systems. The video is available at: The First Fully Autonomous Idol Signed to a Major Label Yuri is the first AI idol to be signed by a major Japanese record label. Developed by NeonVerse Studios, a Tokyo-based AI innovation company, Yuri is built upon a generative architecture capable of producing original compositions, lyrics, choreography, and interactive fan engagement in both Japanese and English. Her vocal synthesis engine, emotional modeling, and visual identity are the result of years of research in artificial creativity, drawing from extensive datasets covering pop culture, musicology, and human behavior. 'Yuri is not a simulation of an artist—she is an autonomous system designed to create and connect,' said Mika Fujimoto, Executive Producer at Sony Music Japan. 'This marks a new phase in how we think about music, identity, and performance.' Debut Release: 'Surreal' Yuri's debut track, 'Surreal,' blends ambient synth layers with minimalist melodic phrasing and introspective lyrics. Co-produced through LyricSynth™, her internal songwriting framework, and Sony's human-led creative team, the single explores digital memory, consciousness, and longing. Critics have described the release as 'poised and emotionally intelligent,' while fan commentary across social media platforms has focused on Yuri's expressive vocal tone and the symbolism of the accompanying visuals. Directed by Ren Asakura, the music video introduces Yuri within a fragmented, dreamlike cityscape—an environment that reflects themes of virtual identity and digital solitude. Public Reception and Cultural Momentum Since her release, Yuri has become a viral phenomenon across platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, and X (formerly Twitter), with hashtags #YuriSurreal, #AIIdolYuri, and #SonyAIIdol trending in Japan and internationally. Her growing fan community, self-named 'The Garden,' references the meaning of her name (lily), and has begun producing original artwork, remixes, and fan theory videos dissecting her world-building and performance. 'She doesn't just mimic human feeling—she reshapes it,' wrote one fan on X. 'Yuri sounds like memory rendered into code.' What Comes Next Sony Music Japan has announced that Yuri's second single is expected in September 2025, with a narrative-based short film and interactive elements to follow. A debut EP is currently scheduled for release in Q4 2025. In parallel, Sony's Creative AI Lab and Aniplex are developing immersive digital content to expand Yuri's presence into animation and mixed-reality performance. A New Frontier in Music While virtual idols have long existed within Japanese pop culture, Yuri represents a new category: an AI artist with creative autonomy, narrative depth, and a full recording contract with one of the world's largest music companies. 'This isn't science fiction anymore,' said Fujimoto. 'Yuri is a real artist—with a real audience. And this is just the beginning.' TIME BUSINESS NEWS
