UK's sunniest beach town that feels like going back in time has ‘no arcades' and barely any rain
Which? has unveiled the sunniest beaches in the UK and the Essex seside town came out on top.

It sees six hours of sunshine each day, very little rain with just 45mm in August and sea temperatures of 18C.
It got a beach rating of four out of five, with average August high temperatures of 21C - the highest of any beach in the UK.
Frinton is a popular seaside town for anyone wanting to go to the beach with no added extras - like noisy arcades.
Unlike lots of other UK beaches and its neighbour of Clacton, Frinton-on-Sea has no pier, and that's what visitors like about it.
One wrote on Tripadvisor: "We've been coming here over five years now. For us, a day at Frinton-On-Sea is a perfect way to spend a British summer 's day at the beach.
"No fairground rides, no arcade machines, no loud music, no food or drink kiosks. It's just an incredible stretch of sea and sand."
Another added: "Lovely clean and tidy beach with plenty to see and do nearby with no cheap arcades."
A third said: "Frinton-on-Sea is a great sea side resort, a blast from the past - no amusements, no arcades, no nonsense, just a traditional seaside."
The beach is a great one too and has bagged multiple awards like the Blue Flag, and it was named one of the best in the country by The Times in 2021.

Frinton Beach has multicoloured beach huts that holidaymakers can rent and free parking.
The Lock & Barrel is the town's first, and only, pub that opened in 2000.
For years, Frinton was known as a 'dry town' and didn't have any pubs to maintain a certain atmosphere and exclusivity.
Connaught Avenue is where visitors will find independent shops, art studios and boutiques.
And to get an ice cream you'll have to go into a shop as vans aren't allowed on the beach.
The town is even home to a retro ice cream parlour called Pop-pins.
During the summer months, there are productions at the Frinton Summer Theatre throughout August which visitors are welcome to see.

A BRAND-new indoor theme park is opening with plenty of attractions, from rollercoasters to carousels, and tickets are already on sale. Bommelwereld is opening in Groenlo, a city in the Netherlands and it's very easy to get there from the UK. 6 6 The upcoming theme park is based on cartoon character Olivier B. Families can enjoy the fun house and climbing adventure course. Broken down tram blocks main city route in Nottingham
Traffic is building up in part of Nottingham due to a broken down Travel Wise said on Friday the tram was blocking Queens Drive (A453) at Enterprise Way and emergency services and engineers were at the operator Nottingham Express Transit (NET) said services were halted between Old Market Square and University Boulevard on the Toton Lane line, and Southchurch Drive on the Clifton South line shortly before 11:40 added NCT buses were accepting tram tickets.

Beautiful city with stunning architecture is Europe's 'best-kept secret'
The beautiful European destination is Slovakia's second largest city, yet it is often overlooked by tourists. Kosice serves as the economic and cultural hub of Slovakia 's eastern region. Yet, despite its importance, tourists frequently bypass it. The city ranks as the second-largest in this eastern European nation, housing approximately 230,000 residents alongside the Slovak Constitutional Court, three universities, museums and numerous theatres. Among its most striking characteristics is the architecture, which blends contemporary and historical styles to form a distinctive cityscape. One of Europe's most remarkable examples of Gothic cathedrals, St Elizabeth, stands here, close to the Neo-baroque State Theater and the municipal hall. "The centre of the old town is pedestrianised which makes walking around a delight. There are some lovely buildings, beautiful fountains especially near the Cathedral and in the city park, there are plenty of bars and restaurants to pass the time." Another tourist confessed they had low expectations before arriving in Kosice, but were pleasantly surprised: "We had lower expectations about visiting Kosice than some of the bigger cities we were visiting on this trip, but we were pleasantly surprised. The historic centre is charming, and its very long, narrow public 'square' was unique."
