Skip Bin Hire vs. DIY Waste Disposal: Which Saves You More Time and Money?
And it is not just the podcast hosts who agree on that. Jon Rahm, who had a tough outing at The Open Championship at the Royal Portrush Golf Club in Northern Ireland, agrees with them, too. Rahm carded a 1 under par on the last day to finish at 3 under par, securing T34 on the leaderboard. That is nearly 14 strokes behind the consistent Scottie Scheffler, who won the event. Rahm was full of praise for the growth shown by the four-time Major winner.
'Very few players have been able to do what he's done. He's won three majors in three years — or four years. No, three years. Won nine times last season, and he keeps going on. He's doing what everybody wants to do.' Rahm stated. Scheffler claimed his first-ever win on the PGA Tour in 2022 at the WM Phoenix Open. In the last four years, he has outdone himself, claiming fifteen more wins, en route to being World No. 1. This includes a ridiculous stretch during the 2024 season, right after Rahm left for LIV Golf, where Scheffler recorded 7 wins on the PGA Tour.

Jon Rahm after his round today on Scottie Scheffler…
'Very few players have been able to do what he's done. He's won three majors in three years — or four years. No, three years. Won nine times last season, and he keeps going on. He's doing what everybody wants to do.'
— Ron Mintz (@MintzGolf) July 20, 2025
The two seasons before Scheffler won his first PGA Tour title, Scheffler carded 15 top 10 finishes, including a runner-up position at the World Golf Championships and third at the Memorial Tournament. It seemed like he could never get over the hump before his victory in Arizona. 'What I keep reminding myself is he was able to turn things around drastically. From not being able to close out early on some of the chances he had to getting it done often. If he's been able to do it, all of us are able to do it.' The Spaniard further added.

'I've definitely played really high, and I've had my battles against him head to head, and it's always been a lot of fun. I'm optimistic that I can get to that level as well. Obviously it's not easy, but I'm optimistic it can be done.' The 2023 Masters Champion professed. And the respect between the two is mutual, as Scheffler had previously mentioned that the one thing he misses from LIV Golf is the fact that a lot of good competitors went away, especially Rahm. Scheffler misses the competition against Jon Rahm
'To be completely honest, Jon [Rahm] was one of my favourite people to play against. We had some good battles throughout the years and I was pretty surprised that he decided to take the money and leave.' Scheffler had stated previously. Rahm and Scheffler were involved in some heavy battles, especially during the 2023 Ryder Cup in Rome. They played each other in singles play, where Scheffler held a slight edge, before Rahm carded a valuable birdie on the last hole to tie the contest.

Fans were very recently treated to another classic encounter between the Spaniard and the American at the 2025 PGA Championship. Rahm was the only person who was able to draw level with Scottie Scheffler during the weekend, when they momentarily had the same score on the 11th hole.
However, Rahm succumbed to pressure, carding a bogey and two double bogeys across the 16th, 17th, and 18th holes to finish seven strokes behind the eventual winner. Yet, it still remains as a stark reminder of the threat Jon Rahm poses to Scottie Scheffler. Can he continue to bring the same fervour in the future, or will Scottie Scheffler put an insurmountable gap between him and the rest of the field?

Adam Scott confirms what has been widely reported about PGA Tour, LIV Golf unification
Adam Scott confirmed what has widely been reported: there's little movement in efforts to reunify men's professional golf. As a member of the PGA Tour's policy board, Scott has had a front row seat in the negotiations between the Tour and Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, the financial backer of LIV Golf. Scott participated in the talks earlier this year, which were orchestrated by U.S. President Donald Trump, at the White House. Asked on Wednesday for a status report during a pre-tournament press conference ahead of the Wyndham Championship in Greensboro, North Carolina, Scott said, 'there's not much happening between, I don't know if more White House visits are really necessary. It was really quite an experience, I have to say. Those conversations haven't advanced far from there.' Optimism was high that a deal was forthcoming earlier in the year but the last meeting in February in which PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan and Scott and Tiger Woods met with President Trump and PIF governor Yasir Al-Rumayyan did not go as planned. The goal of the meeting was to expedite the federal government's approval of a deal, originally outlined in a Framework Agreement in June 2023, which would see PIF invest $1.5 billion into PGA Tour Enterprises, the Tour's new, for-profit entity. With talks hitting a road block, Scott suggested that new Tour Enterprises CEO Brian Rolapp, who started his job on Monday, will be responsible for leading the process forward as Monahan, who announced he intended to complete his contract through 2026 as commissioner, hands off the baton. 'With Brian stepping in, a lot of that's going to fall onto his desk now. I think that he needs some time to kind of really get up to speed and understand what's going on with that,' Scott said. The Aussie also served on the search committee that eventually selected Rolapp, a highly-respected executive for more than 20 years at the NFL, to steer the Tour through these turbulent times. 'His credentials are obviously excellent on paper, but I have a few things that I really liked about Brian,' Scott said. 'He has a very calm nature about him, you know, to me, which was one of the guys involved, I thought I quite liked that. I think he's coming in at a very interesting time in the professional game and I think that calm demeanor's going to serve him well.' Scott's words confirm the rumors that negotiations have stalled with both sides entrenched in their corners and neither willing to compromise. At No. 85 in the FedEx Cup standings, Scott has more pressing concerns this week – trying to earn his way into the playoffs at the final regular-season event. 'It's do or die,' Scott said. 'That's a fun way to play. Sometimes we or I have fell in the trap of like there's always next week if it doesn't work out and that's not the case here, so I think that's not a pressure but more motivation.'

2025 Wyndham Championship best bets: Five long-shot PGA Tour picks for Sedgefield CC
Gambling content 21+. The New York Post may receive an affiliate commission if you sign up through our links. Read our editorial standards for more information. One look at the betting board for the Wyndham Championship tells you what to expect this weekend on the PGA Tour. There is no clear-cut favorite, with Matt Fitzpatrick currently sitting atop the board at 19/1. The Englishman is the only player under 20/1, and there are only three others (Ben Griffin, Aaron Rai, and Keegan Bradley) shorter than 30/1. But it's not just the lukewarm favorites that make this a great environment for long-shot bettors; it's also the timing of the tournament. With just one week to go before the FedEx Cup Playoffs, there are a lot of players in this field who will have everything to play for, and others who have nothing to gain. That should set up an interesting weekend with players not only jockeying on the Wyndham leaderboard but also in the FedEx Cup points race. Throw in the fact that Sedgefield is an easy course (the last three winners finished -20, -18, and -20) that doesn't require you to bomb the ball off the tee, and you can see a path to success for just about anybody in this field. Let's have some fun. 2025 Wyndham Championship picks Sungjae Im (60/1, bet365) There was a time not too long ago when it seemed like Sungjae Im was on the fast track to establishing himself as a top-10 player. But a trying season has caused Im's star to lose its luster, and he now finds himself as a 60/1 long shot in a field that is lacking star power. The good news is that there could hardly be a better setup for the South Korean to find his game. Im has never missed the cut in six starts at the Wyndham, and he's got three top-10 finishes, including a runner-up, in his career at Sedgefield CC. Byeong-hun An is still searching for his first PGA Tour victory. Getty Images Byeong-hun An (90/1, FanDuel) Another horse for the course, Byeong-hun An has played the Wyndham Championship three times in the last six years. He finished third in 2019, 35th in 2021, and second in 2023. An's form has dipped in July, but he's only a few weeks removed from a T6 at the Canadian Open and a T14 at the Travelers. Webb Simpson (110/1, bet365) There is nobody in this field who loves the Wyndham Championship more than Webb Simpson. Not only is he a former winner here (2011), but he's got seven top-10 finishes, including two runner-ups and two bronze medals, in his last 10 starts here. Simpson adores this event so much that he named one of his children Wyndham. Betting on golf? Adam Hadwin (400/1, FanDuel) There's very little about Adam Hadwin's form that will push you to clicking his name this week, but this is the type of tournament that can snap anybody out of a funk. Almost every single entrant in this field can go low on this course, and they don't have to contend with the Scottie Schefflers of the world on the leaderboard. Hadwin is as talented as anybody in this section of the board, and he finished 10th here in 2021. Camilo Villegas is a former winner at the Wyndham Championship. Getty Images Camilo Villegas (1,000/1, bet365) The list of champions at the Wyndham would have you believe it was on the Senior Tour. Kevin Kisner, Jim Herman, Davis Love III all lifted this trophy in the last decade, so don't be afraid to have a couple of old-timers on your card. A former winner here, albeit back in 2014, Camilo Villegas is not in horrible form considering he is 1,000 to 1. The five-time PGA Tour winner isn't popping up on any leaderboards, but he's making cuts, which is more than a lot of players in this range can offer. Jake Knapp's girlfriend Makena White recalls how ‘very private' relationship got exposed on PGA Tour
Makena White had no intention of exposing her 'very private' romance with PGA Tour pro and boyfriend Jake Knapp at the 2024 Mexico Open. Life, however, had other plans. White took a stroll down memory lane Monday after the PGA Tour's official X account asked its three million followers to 'share a piece of golf lore about yourself,' prompting Knapp's biggest supporter to peel back the curtain on her personal life. 4 Jake Knapp with girlfriend Makena White during the Cognizant Classic in February 2025. Getty Images 'My (previously very private) relationship was hard launched on national television at the 2024 Mexico Open,' she began on X. 'A year later I got outed playing hooky from work on a Thursday cause that same bf shot 59 & photos of us cellying were all over the internet. '2 years of getting sewered.' 4 Jake Knapp celebrated his first PGA Tour victory with Makena White in February 2024 at the Mexico Open. Getty Images Knapp, 31, earned his first PGA Tour victory as a rookie in February 2024 at the Mexico Open, where White joined him on the course at Vidanta Vallarta for the sweet celebrations that were immortalized on social media. White and Knapp had been dating for six months at the time. She flew in from Canada for the final round after the golfer's unexpected rise to the top of the leaderboard. As Knapp has become a steady contender on tour in the year-and-half since, White has frequently been by his side. A year later, the California native shot a bogey-free 59 in the opening round of the Cognizant Classic at PGA National, joining the exclusive sub-60 club with White in attendance. 4 Jake Knapp finished tied for third at the 3M Open in July 2025. IMAGN IMAGES via Reuters Connect When an X user asked White if she was 'upset' over the media fallout of Knapp's triumphs, she replied, 'I'm not mad at another I was simply telling a story.' Currently ranked 77th in the world, Knapp is coming off a top-three finish at last weekend's 3M Open, where he tied for third at 20-under par, three strokes behind winner Kurt Kitayama at 23-under. Knapp will be in the field at the upcoming Wyndham Championship, which tees off Thursday. He turned pro in 2016.
