Man arrested for sending explosive materials to Palm Springs fertility clinic bomberMan accused of sending chemicals to Palm Springs fertility clinic bomber Man accused of sending chemicals to suspect in California fertility clinic bombingMan arrested in connection with Palm Springs fertility clinic bombingThe FBI have arrested a man at New York's John F Kennedy airport on Tuesday night in connection with last month's car bombing outside a fertility clinic in Palm Springs, California.Authorities said Daniel Park, 32, from Kent, Washington, sent 180 pounds of ammonium nitrate - an ingredient used in homemade bombs - to Guy Edward Bartkus.Mr Park was scheduled to appear in Brooklyn Federal Court on Wednesday, after which it is expected he will be sent to Los Angeles. Authorities say Bartkus detonated an explosion on 17 May outside the American Reproductive Centers fertility clinic. Four people were injured and Bartkus, 25, was killed in the blast.
Bartkus left behind writings that suggest he disapproved of people being brought into the world against their will and advocated for the end of childbirth and the eventual extinction of humans. The FBI has called the blast an "intentional act of terrorism" and said the fertility clinic was deliberately targeted.Bartkus was a resident of Twentynine Palms, a small city about 150 miles (240km) east of Los Angeles.Authorities said Bartkus loaded his 2010 silver Ford Fusion sedan with explosives before driving an hour from Twentynine Palms to Palm Springs. The blast was felt more than a mile away.At a news conference on Wednesday, US Attorney Bill Essayli said Mr Park and Bartkus spent time together conducting experiments in Bartkus' garage.Several days after the explosion, Mr Park travelled to Denmark and then onto Poland, but was detained by Polish authorities and sent back to the US, where he was arrested.Akil Davis, assistant director in charge of the FBI's Los Angeles field office, said that Mr Park "was in possession of an explosive recipe that was similar to the Oklahoma City bombing."Investigators say the pair discussed plans online and were part of a movement sometimes called anti-natalism, also known as efilism.Mr Davis referred to the site of the fertility clinic as "the largest bombing scene" the FBI had seen in southern California in recent memory.Several buildings were damaged in the blast, including the fertility clinic with images showing a portion of its wall destroyed.According to its website, the ARC clinic is the first full-service fertility centre and IVF lab in the Coachella Valley. It offers services including fertility evaluations, IVF, egg donation and freezing, reproductive support for same-sex couples and surrogacy.

Tesla shares take $150bn plunge as Musk vs Trump erupts

Tesla shares fell sharply in US trading on Thursday after the sudden eruption of a public spat between boss Elon Musk and President Donald Trump sparked fears of reprisals for the electric car giant. Trump threatened to terminate 'Elon's governmental subsidies and contracts' on his social messaging service Truth Social after a disagreement over the President's budget bill saw the pair exchange accusations and insults. US subsidies and contracts at Federal and state level are worth billions to Tesla, which also currently benefits from a $7,500 tax credit available for electric vehicle purchases. Trump wrote: 'The easiest way to save money in our Budget, Billions and Billions of Dollars, is to terminate Elon's Governmental Subsidies and Contracts. 'I was always surprised that Biden didn't do it!' Tesla shares fell more than 14 per cent by the end of US trading, wiping $150billion off the carmaker's market capitalisation. Analysts at Wedbush said: 'The quickly deteriorating friendship and now 'major beef' between Musk and Trump is jaw dropping and a shock to the market and putting major fear for Tesla investors on what is ahead. 'This situation between Musk and Trump could start to settle down and the friendship continues but this must start to be calmed down on the Musk and Trump fronts and it's not good for either side. 'This feud does not change our bullish view of Tesla and the autonomous view but clearly does put a fly in the ointment of the Trump regulatory framework going forward.' Musk's relationship with the President has been a major driver of Tesla's fortunes, for better and for worse, over the last two years. Tesla shares rose more than 60 per cent between the start of November when Trump was elected to the end of 2024. But investor pressure over Musk's controversial role in the White House ultimately led to him to stepping down from his unofficial 'DOGE' department, which had sparked protests and vandalism directed at Tesla. The controversy also appears to have weighed on Tesla sales. Tesla shares were on a run more recently, however, after Musk confirmed the group would be testing an autonomous, driverless 'robotaxi' service in Austin, Texas, this month. Matt Britzman, senior equity analyst at Hargreaves Lansdown, said: 'Investing in Tesla isn't for the faint of heart, and Musk's enthusiasm for topics close to heart is both a blessing and, at times, a curse. 'Let's not forget, Tesla has its own battles, with disappointing sales numbers and brand damage weighing on sentiment in the near term. 'For now, markets are willing to look past the weakening auto business with AI and automation the real prizes. But with such a pivotal few months ahead for the autonomous strategy, investors will want to see Musk give his full attention back to Tesla.' Richard Hunter, head of markets at Interactive Investor, added: 'Perhaps more importantly, the latest feud has also heightened unease that the President's seemingly irascible and erratic behaviour is symptomatic of the environment which has been created on a global scale. 'Companies have already been stepping back from providing guidance comments for the next few months, while consumer sentiment is brittle given the wider context of what could be a weakening outlook.'

Revealed: The scathing words Prince Charles uttered when Harry was born because he 'wanted a girl'

It is no secret that King Charles has a strained relationship with his youngest son. After quitting frontline royal duties and moving his young family to California in 2020, the Duke of Sussex, 40, has been left in the dark when it comes to his father's cancer battle, only learning of his recent hospital visit on March 27 through media reports, according to People Magazine. And when Harry flew across the pond in early April to attend a hearing at the Royal Courts of Justice in London - a mere 2.5 miles from Buckingham Palace - he did not meet Charles. But the well-documented rift between father and son may go back even further than royal watchers realise. According to Diana herself, Charles was desperate to have two children - one boy and one girl. 'I knew Harry was going to be a boy because I saw on the scan,' she explained to Andrew Morton for his bestselling book Diana: Her True Story In Her Own Words. 'Charles always wanted a girl. He wanted two children, and he wanted a girl. I knew Harry was a boy, and I didn't tell him.' So when Diana gave birth to their second son Harry in the Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital on September 15, 1984, Charles could barely hide his disappointment. 'First comment was: "Oh God, it's a boy," second comment: "And he's even got red hair,"' Diana recounted to her trusted biographer Morton. In his own bombshell memoir Spare, Prince Harry said he was 21 the first time he heard the story of 'what Pa allegedly said to Mummy the day of my birth: "Wonderful! Now you've given me an Heir and a Spare - my work is done." 'A joke. Presumably,' Harry penned. 'On the other hand, minutes after delivering this bit of high comedy, Pa was said to have gone off to meet his girlfriend. So. Many a true word spoken in jest.' Outside the hospital, Prince Charles appeared to hide his true feelings and told the waiting journalists: 'He's wonderful. Absolutely marvellous.' It is no wonder the Diana would go on to tell friends that 'spiritually' their marriage 'ended the day Prince Harry was born', according to Morton. Charles told his official biographer Jonathan Dimbleby that he picked things back up with Camilla in 1986. Meanwhile it is alleged Diana's affair with army captain James Hewitt started around the same time. The royal couple, who had separate bedrooms at their homes for years stopped sharing the same sleeping quarters during an official visit to Portugal in 1987. The next few years saw Charles and Diana plagued with rumours of marital problems, culminating in the blistering tell-all of the collapse of their marriage as published by Morton in 1992. The Princess of Wales had secretly contributed to the book by providing Morton with audio recordings which would later be included in a 2017 ITV documentary. Diana claims in the recordings that Charles's disappointment at having a second boy rather than a girl persevered until Prince Harry's christening on December 21, 1984. After the ceremony at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle, the future king allegedly told Diana's mother Frances Shand Kydd: 'We're so disappointed, we thought it would be a girl.' Frances then 'snapped his head off' and told him he should 'realise you are lucky to have a child', Diana added. The doomed royal couple announced their separation just months after the publication of Morton's book in 1992 and finalised their divorce in August 1996. Elsewhere in Morton's explosive biography, Diana reveals that the birth of her first son William - the heir - came with its own set of issues. The Princess of Wales told Morton she had to choose a date to be induced that fit around Charles's busy polo schedule. 'When we had William, we had to find a date in the diary that suited Charles and his polo,' she said. 'William had to be induced because I couldn't handle the press pressure any longer, it was becoming unbearable. It was as if everyone was monitoring every day for me.' Princess Diana added: 'Anyway, the boy arrived, great excitement. 'Thrilled, everyone absolutely high as a kite – we had found a date where Charles could get off his polo pony for me to give birth.

EXCLUSIVE How Michael Jackson's daughter Paris was set up for superstardom by late dad and aunt La Toya

At just 27, Michael Jackson 's daughter Paris has carved out an incredible career for herself as a singer, model, and actress. Determined not to be overshadowed by her famous family, the genetically-blessed ' nepo baby ' has gone above and beyond to carve out her own place in the spotlight. Her aunt La Toya, 69, spoke to about her 'beautiful' niece this week and shared how both she and Michael influenced the young star. 'She is such a beautiful young lady and she's doing absolutely fabulous everywhere,' La Toya gushed. 'She's been doing a lot of acting. You'll see her movies coming out. She's doing a lot of things, so I'm so proud of her,' she continued. When asked what advice she and late brother Michael gave Paris on her journey to superstardom, La Toya said, 'Just be true to yourself and she knows to be true to herself.' She continued, 'Look, her dad was the biggest guy in the world, so she learned a lot from him when she was much younger and that's still been instilled in her head. 'Just really do what you really love in life and be true to yourself. And once she knew that, look how she's navigated herself.' La Toya is currently gearing up for two shows at the Catalina Jazz Club in Hollywood. The entertainer, 69, will be at the club for two nights on Friday and Saturday, June 6 and 7, sharing stories about her life and career. 'It's going to be very intimate,' she told 'It'll be me sharing stories about my life and growing up in the royal family of music and things like that, and when people ask me questions, they'll get answers.' Meanwhile, Paris is currently gearing up to star in the action-thriller One Spoon of Chocolate alongside Shameik Moore. She'll also be seen in the comedy Skinemax with Crispin Glover and Rory Culkin. Outside of film, Paris has made her mark in television with roles in American Horror Stories, Swarm, and Doctor Odyssey. The 27-year-old released her debut album Wilted in 2020 and followed up with a new single called Bandaid in 2023. Deebie Rowe, an American nurse, married Michael in a secret ceremony in Sydney, Australia, in 1996 and was surrogate mother to the singer's two oldest children Prince and Paris. They divorced three years later in 1999. Prince and Paris also have a younger brother Bigi who was formerly known as 'Blanket' but he was not mothered by Debbie. Michael died aged 50 following a drug-induced cardiac arrest in June 2009 at his home in Los Angeles and his personal physician at the time, Dr Conrad Murray, was jailed for involuntary manslaughter. After the Smooth Criminal singer passed away, Paris and Prince were raised by grandmother Katherine Jackson. Paris, who is currently engaged to Justin Long, posted a video to Instagram on January 7 revealing that she was five years into her sobriety journey from heroin and alcohol. 'Hi, I'm PK and I'm an alcoholic and a heroin addict,' she wrote. 'Today marks five years clean and sober from all drugs and alcohol. To say that I'm thankful would be a poor euphemism. Gratitude hardly scratches the surface,' she continued. 'It's because I'm sober that I get to smile today. I get to make music. I get to experience the joy of loving my dogs and cat. I get to feel heartbreak in all its glory. I get to grieve. I get to laugh. I get to dance. I get to trust. 'I feel the sun on my skin and it's warm. I've found that life keeps happening regardless of whether I'm sober or not, but today I get to show up for it. 'Here's a little snapshot of what has been possible because of my sobriety, and my god I can't believe I almost missed it all,' she finished off the heartbreaking caption.
