Premier League reveal new date for Liverpool's clash with Man United as latest TV selections are confirmed
The Premier League has announced the broadcast picks for October, including Liverpool 's home clash with arch rivals Manchester United. The match between Arne Slot 's champions and Ruben Amorim 's men is among the 19 fixtures rearranged for TV coverage in October. Anfield will host the game on Sunday, October 19 at 4:30pm, with Sky Sports unsurprisingly selecting it to headline Super Sunday after Spurs versus Aston Villa at 2pm. Amorim's side will hope to go one better than last season, when they left the home of their bitter rivals with a creditable 2-2 draw. All three of Liverpool's fixtures in October have been moved after being selected by broadcasters. Their trip to Chelsea on Saturday, October 4 - the last weekend of matches before the second international break of the season - has been pushed back to a 5:30 kick-off and will be shown on Sky Sports. It will follow Leeds versus Tottenham Hotspur, which will now start at 12:30pm after being brought forward from 3pm. However it will be switched to 8pm if Spurs are away in the Champions League the Wednesday before. After welcoming United to Anfield, Liverpool travel to Brentford on Saturday, October 25, where they will come up against former captain Jordan Henderson. The Premier League have tentatively scheduled the match for a lunchtime kick-off but said it would move to 8pm if the Reds are away in the Champions League the preceding Wednesday. United will host Brighton and Hove Albion the same day, with the match kicking off at 5:30pm. Arsenal's only change to their October schedule is the visit to Craven Cottage to face Fulham, which has been moved to 5:30pm on Saturday, October 18. Nottingham Forest versus Chelsea has also been selected for TV coverage on that Saturday and will kick-off at 12:30pm on TNT Sports. Sky Sports are showing 215 matches this season, up from 128, but fan groups have warned the Premier League must give adequate notice of fixture changes in order to prevent problems for matchgoing supporters. Teachers' reactions to Adolescence show ‘real problem' with schooling
Adolescence writer and co-creator Jack Thorne said teachers' responses to the hit Netflix series showed 'we've got a real problem in our country' when it comes to schooling. The four-part series explores misogyny among teenage boys and prompted a national conversation about online safety when it was released in March. Speaking at the Edinburgh TV Festival, Thorne said: 'I worked in a school, (executive producer) Hannah (Walters) spent a long time in schools, and we both had a real passion to talk about schools that aren't doing so well. 'And it was so interesting the response, because there was teachers going, 'That would never happen in schools', and then other teachers going, 'You've got that spot on'. 'And what that showed is, we've got a real problem in our country, because there's a certain level of schooling which is complacent about the schools that we're allowing to sink.' One of the episodes in the series is filmed in a school and shows Ashley Walters' character, DI Luke Bascombe, interviewing children who are friendly with 13-year-old Jamie Miller (Owen Cooper), who has been accused of murdering his school friend. Also in the session, Netflix executive Mona Qureshi, responded to Channel 4 news boss Louisa Compton accusing the streamer of behaving like 'TV tourists' earlier at the TV festival. Compton also called the channel 'proud parents' of Adolescence because of the opportunities they had given Thorne and actor and co-creator Stephen Graham over the years, according to reports. 'I don't think I'm a tourist,' Qureshi said. 'Nothing about where I am and where we sit and the conversations we had about and around Adolescence at the beginning really came out of anything other than us.' Thorne said he 'started out' with Channel 4, adding: 'I'm really grateful for Channel 4, but I'm excited that Netflix is moving into this space.' In March, Thorne, 46, spoke to Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer at Downing Street about the issues raised in the drama. This Is England star Graham co-created the drama with Thorne and starred as Eddie Miller, the father of Jamie. The series took months of preparation and rehearsals so that each episode could be filmed in one continuous shot, which was praised by viewers of the show. The show has received 13 Emmy nominations, including for its young star Cooper, for best supporting actor in a limited series.

Eberechi Eze and Marc Guehi to start for Crystal Palace on Thursday amid increased transfer interest
liver Glasner has confirmed that key Crystal Palace players Eberechi Eze and Marc Guehi will both start Thursday night's Conference League play-off first leg against Fredrikstad, despite persistent transfer speculation linking them with moves away from Selhurst Park. Eze, a target for Tottenham, and Guehi, reportedly on Liverpool's radar, trained with the squad in Beckenham on Wednesday morning. Glasner was unequivocal about his expectations for players under contract, dismissing suggestions that their commitment might waver amidst the rumours. "It's always the right of a club and the duty of a player to give 100 per cent as long as he is under contract," Glasner stated. He expressed surprise at the media's focus on their potential departures, particularly after their strong performance in the recent draw against Chelsea. "Before Chelsea, I think many of you were surprised that Marc and Ebs started and played almost the whole game," he added. "Most of you will be surprised that they will start again tomorrow because of all the rumours. But again, they are committed. They are committed to the team, they have a contract here, they played a crucial part that we could be so successful, and they will play a crucial part as long as they are here." Glasner emphasised his belief that both players would maintain their professionalism. "Because they are good, they are committed to the team, and when one of the players leave, which I don't know at the moment, then they want to leave as players who always gave 100 per cent for Crystal Palace. This is what they did since they signed, and this is what we expect from them until the end of their contract, whenever this is." Guehi's contract with Palace runs until next summer, while Eze's deal extends to 2027. A release clause in Eze's contract, reportedly around £68million, expired last Friday. Despite further discussions on Saturday, the England international featured for 84 minutes in the weekend's match against Chelsea. Glasner reiterated that the ongoing transfer noise is not a distraction within the squad. "We are not talking every day to Marc and Ebs and also not kneeling down and saying 'oh, thank you that you arrived today'," he explained. "No, we expect it, and they worked hard in training, before the training, after the training, professional, and that's why it's not a big issue here. Of course we know things can always happen. The window is not closed, but we really – and this is a credit to the players, to the group – they are always focused on what we have to do in our games." Palace goalkeeper Dean Henderson echoed his manager's sentiments, praising his teammates' dedication. "I think the pair of them are great lads. They're so committed and so professional. It showed at Chelsea, getting to work, they were both phenomenal," Henderson said. "I'm sure they will stay committed throughout and they're always here to help the team. They're part of us at the minute, so we will keep enjoying them."
