Yahoo25-07-2025
GloRilla has spoken out after being arrested for a pair of felony drug possession charges in Georgia.
The Memphis rapper's arrest came after law enforcement searched her home following a burglary while Glo was out of town for her performance at the WNBA All-Star Game on Saturday (July 20).

GloRilla turned herself in to Forsyth County Jail on Tuesday (July 22), where she was booked on a charge of felony possession of marijuana and a separate charge of possession of a Schedule I controlled substance.
The CMG artist says she doesn't understand how her home being burglarized could lead to her arrest while she's not even present. 'CRAZY My House got Home Invaded Saturday While I was in Indianapolis performing for the WNBA all star game,' she wrote to X on Thursday (July 24). 'Instead of Focusing on finding the Suspects , they focus on some cannabis.'
Glo continued to clear the air: '1. So no I wasn't busted 2. My house got robbed 3. I wasn't home Long story short my house gets home invaded and Im the only one that gets arrested. So that's tea.'
The suspects fled the scene after being met with gunfire by occupants at Glo's home, but no arrest warrants have been issued by police.
GloRilla posted a $22,260 bond to secure her release just hours after turning herself in. Glo's attorney, Drew Findling, slammed law enforcement in a statement to Billboard, calling the arrest 'a disturbing window into how warped law enforcement priorities have become.'
Findling concluded with another jab: 'This is our tax dollars at work, absolutely unbelievable.'
GloRilla will host her first-ever Glo Bash on Friday (July 25) in her hometown of Memphis at FedEx Forum with performances from Sexyy Red, Rob 49 and Muni Long.Best of Billboard

‘KPop Demon Hunters' Makes Chart History As ‘Golden' Hits No. 1

Hunter/X's 'Golden' has been gaining momentum since its debut several weeks ago, and this time around, the fictional girl group – created for Netflix's hugely-popular movie KPop Demon Hunters – reaches a new historic high on one of Billboard's most competitive charts. As the beloved cut ascends, it helps the made-up band manage a feat that's never been seen in America. 'Golden' Becomes Hunter/X's First No. 1 'Golden' rises from No. 2 to No. 1 on the Streaming Songs chart this time around. As it climbs, Hunter/X manages a historic feat, as no girl group — real or fictional — has previously reached the summit on the list of the most-streamed tracks in the country. Hunter/X Joins a Small List of K-Pop Leaders 'Golden' is the group's second top 10 on the Streaming Songs tally. Recently, as 'Golden' began to surge, 'How It's Done' peaked at No. 6. Among K-pop outfits, Hunter/X joins an elite roster with a top 10 streaming smash. Blackpink has sent three tracks into the top 10, while Fifty Fifty has also reached the region. Looking at all K-pop artists, Hunter/X is only the second to rule the Streaming Songs list, following Psy. He sent both 'Gentleman' and 'Gangnam Style' to No. 1 more than a decade ago. Hunter/X Also Rules Several Global Rankings The success of 'Golden' isn't limited to streaming, or to the U.S. The cut rises from No. 4 to No. 2 on the Hot 100, a new personal best for the group on the most competitive songs list. It also rebounds to No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., reclaiming the throne on each for a second stint and reigning as the biggest smash in the world. Hunter/X Scores a Rare Radio Hit Hunter/X is so popular that its success extends beyond streaming platforms and digital download storefronts. 'Golden' debuts at No. 35 on the Pop Airplay chart this week, marking the group's first appearance on a radio-focused Billboard tally. The showing suggests that the tune is beginning to connect with a broader U.S. audience outside of its core fan base, and that it's receiving some serious promotion.

Eminem's Decades-Old Song Brings Him To A Landmark For The First Time

Eminem's career has been filled with headline-making wins, and even after decades of dominating charts around the world, he's still finding new ways to add to his list of accomplishments. This week, one of his most famous singles makes a quiet but remarkable return to a Billboard ranking — one that has only existed for a few years, but which Eminem has still managed to make his own. 'Without Me' Returns to the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. This week, 'Without Me' is back on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., landing at No. 199, just one space from the bottom. The hit, which peaked at No. 32, continues to connect with listeners all around the world – though the roster doesn't take into account streams and sales from the United States – more than two decades after its release. This latest week marks the cut's two-hundredth on the ranking, and it becomes Eminem's first entry reach that rare milestone. Few Eminem Songs Have Shown This Kind of Longevity Eminem has sent plenty of tracks to the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., but only a handful have managed lengthy stays. His second-longest-running entry, 'Mockingbird,' has now spent 122 weeks on the tally. 'The Real Slim Shady' has racked up 86 stays, while 'Lose Yourself' has collected 56. A Quieter Week for Eminem in the U.S. While he's celebrating a major overseas win, things are more subdued for Eminem in his home country. In the U.S., 'Lose Yourself' is back at No. 15 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales chart, where it has previously peaked at No. 2. It is the rapper's only hit at the moment in America. His compilation Curtain Call: The Hits continues its remarkable run, climbing to No. 14 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums list and improving to No. 10 on the Top Rap Albums chart. The project is nearing 750 weeks on the Billboard 200, a figure it will hit soon.

Shaboozey Began A Historic Run On The Hot 100 A Year Ago

Shaboozey's breakout hit 'A Bar Song (Tipsy)' reached No. 1 on the Hot 100 a little more than one year ago, kicking off what would become one of the longest and most remarkable reigns in chart history. After a short stay at the summit, the cut returned and began a historic run. At the time, 'A Bar Song (Tipsy)' already seemed like a surprise smash, but 12 months later, the real story is the cut's staying power. The genre-blending smash is still thriving inside the top 10 on the Hot 100, while simultaneously living toward the top on several other Billboard tallies. What once felt like a fluke has turned into one of the biggest hits of its era. A Rare Country Handoff at No. 1 'A Bar Song (Tipsy)' first hit No. 1 on the chart dated July 19, 2024, and at the time, it replaced another country crossover track — Post Malone and Morgan Wallen's 'I Had Some Help.' That handoff was rare enough, as it's uncommon for country cuts to rule, let alone for two to do so back-to-back. The following week, Kendrick Lamar's 'Not Like Us' took over, as it debuted at No. 1. Just one frame later, on the chart dated July 27, Shaboozey was back on top, starting a winning streak that would eventually tie a major Billboard record. Shaboozey Matches a Historic Record By the end of its reign, 'A Bar Song (Tipsy)' had racked up 19 nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100, including 14 stints in the top spot in a row. That tied the all-time record set by Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus's 'Old Town Road' in 2019. Like that earlier blockbuster, Shaboozey's hit blurred genre lines, mixing pop, rap, and country into a hybrid sound that resonated with millions of Americans, and which proved remarkably durable. Beyoncé Helped Pave the Way Before 'A Bar Song (Tipsy)' exploded, Shaboozey had already caught the attention of the masses as a featured artist on Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter. His contributions to 'Spaghettii' and 'Sweet Honey Buckiin'' introduced his voice to a massive audience and hinted at the potential for a solo breakout. When 'Tipsy' arrived around the time of Cowboy Carter, his pairing rowdy barroom energy with country roots and hip-hop swagger connected instantly. Still a Chart Force a Year Later Now, more than 15 months into its chart run, 'A Bar Song (Tipsy)' is still a giant hit. It currently sits at No. 8 on the Hot 100 and remains a top 10 title on several of Billboard's country rankings. What began as an unexpected crossover moment has become one of the most consistent performers in history — and given how it's holding up, Shaboozey's smash may not disappear for months.
