Poll: Majority of Israeli Jews Support Gaza Ethnic Cleansing

DayofPal– A new survey has revealed a disturbing surge in support among Israeli Jews for the mass expulsion of Palestinians from Gaza, echoing ancient biblical warfare narratives and reigniting debates about the ideological roots of Zionism.
The poll, conducted in March by a researcher affiliated with Penn State University and published Thursday in Haaretz, surveyed 1,005 Jewish Israelis. It found that a staggering 82% back the forced removal of all Palestinians from Gaza. The results have sent shockwaves through academic and human rights circles.
Perhaps most startling, nearly half of respondents (47%) expressed agreement with the idea that the Israeli army should emulate the ancient Israelites under Joshua at Jericho, killing all the inhabitants of a conquered city.
The poll also found a deep biblical underpinning to these views. Over 65% believe in a present-day version of Amalek, the archetypal enemy of the Jews in the Hebrew Bible. Of those who hold this belief, an overwhelming 93% support the divine commandment to 'erase Amalek.'
Even among secular Jewish Israelis, 69% support expelling Gaza's population, and nearly a third would endorse reenacting the biblical conquest of Jericho.
The generational divide adds a chilling layer to the findings. Among Israelis under the age of 40, 66% support the expulsion of Palestinian citizens of occupied Palestine, and 58% are open to military actions modeled after Jericho. Just 9% of men under 40 rejected all forms of expulsion or genocidal policies.
This sharp uptick in support for extreme measures marks a radical departure from earlier years. In 2003, just 45% supported the expulsion of Gazans, and only 31% backed the removal of Palestinian citizens of occupied Palestine.
Analysts and critics are sounding the alarm, connecting these attitudes to the ideological foundations of Israel itself.
As Haaretz noted: 'Zionism is a settler-colonial movement, seeking to displace the native population. Such projects often face violent resistance from the indigenous, leading to calls for their removal. Hence, every colonial settlement contains the potential for ethnic cleansing and genocide—as seen in 17th–19th century North America or early 20th-century Namibia.'
The poll has ignited urgent debate in Israel and abroad about the trajectory of the war and the increasingly mainstream acceptance of what many observers view as genocidal rhetoric.

Corbyn Secures Parliamentary Backing to Introduce Inquiry Bill into Gaza Genocide

DayofPal– Former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has cleared a significant hurdle in his campaign to launch a formal investigation into the United Kingdom's complicity the Israeli 'genocide in Gaza.' On Wednesday, Corbyn was granted permission by Parliament to introduce a bill that would establish a full public inquiry into the UK's military and political ties to Israel. The inquiry, he said, would be modeled on the landmark Chilcot Inquiry, which examined Britain's role in the Iraq War. 'The public deserves to know the full extent of the UK's complicity in these atrocities,' Corbyn told MPs during remarks in the House of Commons. 'We cannot allow our role in the suffering of Palestinians to go unexamined.' The motion was introduced by the newly formed Independent Alliance, a bloc led by Corbyn and composed of pro-Palestinian MPs elected during the last general election. In a notable development, the motion passed without opposition from any sitting MP, allowing the bill to advance to a second reading. If passed, the proposed legislation would establish an independent inquiry into UK arms sales to Israel, as well as the use of RAF Akrotiri, a British airbase in Cyprus, for potential military coordination linked to the ongoing war in Gaza. Corbyn has proposed July 4 as the date for the bill's second reading, setting the stage for a potentially contentious debate on the UK's foreign policy and defence commitments in the Middle East. The bill represents a historic political moment. It is the first time that the UK Parliament has formally considered launching an investigation into the country's role in the Gaza war, which has claimed tens of thousands of lives since the onset of the war in October 2023. While the bill faces considerable legislative hurdles ahead, its introduction underscores growing pressure within Westminster to confront Britain's accountability in international war. Israeli strike on Khan Younis kills 18 displaced; Gaza death toll rises to 26 since dawn

DaysofPal- The death toll in Gaza continues to climb rapidly following a night of intense Israeli airstrikes and drone attacks across the besieged territory, with reports of at least 26 Palestinians killed since dawn on Wednesday, according to medical sources. The most devastating attack occurred overnight in Khan Younis, where an Israeli airstrike targeted a school sheltering displaced families. At least 18 people were killed in the strike, many of them newly displaced from eastern Khan Younis. The bombing underscores the ongoing collapse of any sense of 'safe zones,' as areas designated for shelter continue to come under fire. Other deadly incidents were reported across northern Gaza, including Jabalia and Gaza City. In southwest Gaza City, a man and his children were killed by an Israeli drone strike as they left the house where they were taking refuge in. Another drone attack in Jabalia killed two more civilians. An Israeli airstrike on a tent housing displaced people in the port area of Gaza killed at least seven people and injured a number more. The victims were transferred to Al-Shifa Hospital, which remains overwhelmed with casualties and critically short on medical supplies. Further south, another displaced person was killed and others injured when a drone targeted a tent west of Khan Younis. Simultaneously, Israeli warplanes, supported by artillery shelling, struck the towns of Bani Suhaila and Abasan al-Kabira, both east of Khan Younis. An Israeli airstrike on a tent settlement for displaced people in Gaza City's Al-Rimal neighborhood, where thousands of people had sought refuge after fleeing violence in northern Gaza, killed eight more people and injured several more on Tuesday. Adding to the chaos, Israeli forces reportedly opened fire on civilians near the Nablus roundabout, west of Gaza City, injuring an unspecified number of Palestinians. Despite mounting international condemnation, including over attacks in the vicinity of designated 'aid areas,' the Israeli military has reportedly imposed temporary restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid. In the past 24 hours, 40 people have been killed, including one who was recovered, and 208 injured have arrived at hospitals in the Gaza Strip, according to the Ministry of Health's daily report. Yesterday's death toll increased to 85. The death toll and number of injuries since March 18, 2025, have reached 4,240 dead and 12,860 injured. The Ministry of Health in Gaza confirmed that a large number of victims remain under the rubble and on the streets, inaccessible to ambulance crews and civil defense teams. The Israeli aggression has killed 54,510 people and injured 124,901 since October 7, 2023. Shortlink for this post:

Human Rights Watch: Gaza War Puts Credibility of International Justice to the Test

DaysofPal – Milena Ansari, a legal researcher at Human Rights Watch, has asserted that the prolonged Israeli assault on the Gaza Strip—now exceeding 600 days—represents a defining test for the credibility of international justice, especially amid the global failure to stop what she described as 'acts amounting to genocide.' In an interview with Palestine Online, Ansari criticized the refusal of certain states, particularly the United States and Hungary, to enforce the International Criminal Court's arrest warrant against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. She described this inaction as 'a direct insult to the victims of these crimes' and a severe blow to the integrity of international accountability mechanisms. Ansari noted that Human Rights Watch and other organizations have documented Israel's use of starvation and the denial of medical access as weapons of war. By blocking the entry of essential supplies such as food, water, and medicine, she explained, the occupation has caused thousands of preventable deaths—especially among children, the elderly, and the chronically ill. She also condemned the surge in settler violence and the continued forced displacement of Palestinians in the West Bank, describing these actions as part of Israel's ongoing apartheid system and a deliberate policy of ethnic cleansing. Despite the grim circumstances, Ansari expressed cautious optimism over emerging legal and diplomatic developments. She welcomed moves by several European governments to reevaluate their political and military relations with Israel and urged international legal bodies to expand arrest warrants to include all officials involved in documented war crimes and crimes against humanity. She concluded by emphasizing that 'justice begins in the streets,' crediting grassroots activism and public pressure for influencing recent shifts in the stance of Western governments toward Israel's actions in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories.
