National Games: Kho, Ding to lead Hong Kong's golfers in search of gold at Fanling
Taichi Kho and Ginnie Ding will lead a Hong Kong team of established and rising stars into a National Games challenge that could pit them against some of the best in the world. With the likes of men's star Li Haotong, who finished in a tie for fourth at the Open Championship last month, and women's world No 5 Yin Ruoning among their potential opponents, the city has named a strong squad for November's tournament, which is being played at Hong Kong Golf Club. Asian Tour star Kho will be joined by two of his Asian Games bronze medal-winning teammates, Matthew Cheung and Jason Hak Sun-yat, with amateur Jeffrey Shen Wang-ngai completing the foursome. Saudi Super Cup: Ronaldo fever strikes again, fans flock to stadium hours before kick-off
Thousands of football fans descended on Hong Kong Stadium hours before Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr were scheduled to kick off against Al-Ittihad in the first semi-final of the Saudi Super Cup on Tuesday. Advertisement At around 5pm, all roads leading to the stadium were a sea of jerseys sporting Ronaldo's name on the back, as thousands from Hong Kong, Macau, mainland China and Saudi Arabia made their way to the ground. There was even one spectator wearing a shirt that combined Al-Nassr, Real Madrid and Manchester United colours and badges, all teams the Portuguese star has played for during his illustrious career. And fans outside and inside the stadium brought a party atmosphere, with Al-Nassr ultras banging drums, waving flags and handing out free scarves to rally support for their side. Not that they needed to. 'I came because I like Ronaldo and I support Real Madrid,' said Grace Chan, 24, who travelled from Nanjing. Advertisement 'Also, the opponents tonight have [Karim] Benzema, who is Ronaldo's old teammate. I like Ronaldo because of his values, what he stands for, it's very respectable.'

Hong Kong footballers say pitch bookings were cancelled for Ronaldo's team to use
Football clubs in Hong Kong have called for better communication from the city's governing body after it cancelled bookings of facilities to hand them over to Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr and their rival Saudi Super Cup teams. Recreational groups and Premier League clubs received messages at late notice stating that pitches were to be taken off them so that the Football Association of Hong Kong, China (HKFA) could block-book them for the four visiting Saudi sides. Premier League club Eastern were forced to move nine sessions, spanning last Thursday to this Friday. 'It's a little inconvenient for us, especially as the season starts soon,' a spokesman for Eastern said, adding that they had been 'notified at very short notice' but that the FA had helped to find alternative places to train. 'Our club is delighted that the HKFA has the opportunity to participate in this event,' he said. 'We believe that they can make better arrangements in the future.' Photo: Instagram/ A message to parents about cancelled children's sessions, seen by the Post, read: 'We are extremely upset about this, in particular the timing of the decision!! The lack of notice is awful, just 2 days before closing. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about this as the HKFA own the facility and they are within their rights to use it as they wish.'
