QCB issues treasury bills worth QR1.3 billion

Qatar Central Bank (QCB) has issued treasury bills for maturities of 7 days, 28 days, 91 days, 189 days, 252 days, and 336 days, worth QR1.3 billion.
In a post on X platform on Thursday, QCB said that the treasury bills issued were distributed as follows: QR500 million for a 7-day term (New Issuance) at an interest rate of 4.610 percent, QR200 million for a 28-day term (New Issuance) at an interest rate of 4.611 percent, QR200 million for a 91-day term (Tap Issuance) at an interest rate of 4.546 percent, QR200 million for a 189-day term (Tap Issuance) at an interest rate of 4.461 percent, QR100 million for a 252-day term (Tap Issuance) at an interest rate of 4.415 percent, and QR100 million for a 336-day term (Tap Issuance) at an interest rate of 4.365 percent.
According to QCB, the total auction bids for the treasury bills amounted to QR4.4 billion.

QIIB launches unprecedented debit, credit card campaign

Tribune News Network Doha QIIB has announced the launch of an unprecedented promotional campaign for its debit and credit cardholders, under the slogan: 'Win an apartment, a car, and a cash prize — all at once!' The campaign reflects the bank's ongoing commitment to rewarding its customers with exceptional, high-value prizes, reinforcing its position as a leader in banking innovation andcustomer service. The campaign will run from August 15, 2025, to January 31, 2026, offering all QIIB retail customers the chance to win three grand prizes combined, awarded to a single winner: a luxury apartment in Lusail City from Qatari Diar, a Lexus LX600, and a cash prize of QR100,000. In addition, four other winners will each receive a cash prize of QR100,000 upon meeting the minimum spending requirement during the campaign period. As outlined in the campaign terms, which apply to all retail customers, participants will receive two entries into the draw for every QR1,000 of cumulative international spending using their debit or credit cards, and one entry for every QR1,000 of cumulative local spending using credit cards. To be eligible for the draw, customers must reach a minimum spending threshold of QR50,000 during the campaign period. The final draw will be conducted under the supervision of a representative from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. DOHA: His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has issued Amiri Decision No. 25 of 2025, appointing the Board of Directors of the Qatar Central Bank. The resolution stipulated that the Board of Directors of Qatar Central Bank shall be chaired by HE Sheikh Bandar bin Mohammed bin Saud Al Thani, Governor of Qatar Central Bank, and HE Sheikh Ahmed bin Khalid bin Sultan Al Thani, Deputy Governor, as Vice Chairman, and the membership of HE Dr Saleh bin Mohammed Al Nabit, HE the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, HE the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, HE Dr Tami bin Ahmed bin Ali Al Bu Tami Al Binali, and Dr Khalid Nasser Al Khater. The resolution also stipulated that the term of membership in the board shall be four years, renewable for one or more similar terms. The decision stipulated its implementation and enforcement, and that it would be published in the Official Gazette.
