On April 19, 2021, investigators made a controlled purchase of a 9mm Glock handgun and a drum magazine from Mooring and Pollard for $1,500 in New Haven.
Three days later, investigators made another controlled purchase, of 9mm ammunition, from Mooring in New Haven.
Mooring has a criminal history that includes convictions for felony robbery, unlawful restraint, and failure to appear offenses. Federal law prohibits someone previously convicted of a felony offense to possess a firearm or ammunition that has moved in interstate or foreign commerce.
Mooring was arrested on a federal criminal complaint on June 14, 2021. On Jan. 13, 2022, he pled guilty to unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
Mooring, who is released on a $50,000 bond, is required to report to prison on June 18.
Pollard pleaded guilty and, on Feb. 27, 2023, and was sentenced to eight years in prison.

He was charged with the following: Disorderly conduct Second-degree criminal mischief Impersonation of an officer First-degree reckless endangerment First-degree unlawful restraint Tampering with evidence Second-degree assault Interfering Second-degree strangulation He was held on $150,000 bond and will appear in Danielson Superior Court on Monday. Ex-WWE boss Vince McMahon accused of reckless driving in Connecticut crash
WESTPORT, Conn. (WTNH) — State police in Connecticut say former WWE CEO Vince McMahon, the husband of Education Secretary Linda McMahon, was issued a misdemeanor summons for reckless driving after allegedly causing a multi-vehicle crash last week. The three-vehicle crash took place on the morning of July 24 on a thoroughfare in Westport, according to an accident report from Connecticut State Police. Officials said McMahon, 79, was driving a 2024 Bentley Continental GT Speed in a northbound lane when he allegedly rear-ended a 2023 BMW 430 in front of him. His car then hit a wooden median guardrail, sending debris over the median into the southbound lane and into the path of a 2020 Ford Fusion, the report indicates. The airbags in McMahon's vehicle, along with the BMW, were deployed. The three vehicles were towed from the scene, state police said. McMahon has denied the allegations. Vince and Linda McMahon are both accused in a separate suit of knowing about a ringside announcer who allegedly sexually abused young boys for years but doing nothing about it. They have denied those accusations as well.

SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. (WTNH) — A man who was found slumped behind the wheel of a vehicle is facing charges after allegedly failing a sobriety test in South Windsor, police said. Jeremy Richard, 42, of South Windsor, was charged with operating under the influence, use of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance and illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle. Norwalk man charged in alleged sexual assault of child The man was found on the wrong side of the road around 6:46 p.m. in the area of Abbe Road and Garnet Lane. Police said they suspected he was under the influence, and he agreed to a sobriety test but failed. When authorities searched the vehicle, they found yielded wax folds, cut straws, and a sledgehammer under the front passenger seat, police said.
