
Woman arrested at Changi Airport check-in area for abusing public servant
A woman, 42, was arrested at Changi Airport and is being investigated for using abusive language against a public servant, said the police on June 8.
She was arrested at Terminal 1 after the police received a call for assistance at around 6.25pm on June 6.
Police investigations are ongoing.
Video footage of the arrest was circulated on Chinese social media platform Xiaohongshu on June 7.
In the clip, three police officers can be seen pinning down an individual on the carpeted floor in the baggage check-in area in view of onlookers, including children.
A woman can be heard screaming incoherently, while two bags can be seen near her in the area just below Terrace Chinese Kitchen.
The Xiaohongshu original poster said the woman had brown dyed hair and multiple tattoos on her left arm and appeared to be ethnically Asian.
She was seen hitting the self-service check-in machines agitatedly, said the user, who wanted to be known only as Mr Liew M.K. Some airport personnel, possibly security officers, had approached her to get her to stop, raising a commotion, he added.
The woman was later seen taken away in handcuffs, he said, with the whole commotion ending within around 10 minutes.
He and his family had been preparing to check in for a trip to Melbourne on the evening of June 6.

2 women arrested for theft at Changi Airport transit area within an hour, Singapore News
Two women were arrested within an hour for thefts at shops in the transit area of Changi Airport. In a statement on Monday (June 9), the police said that they were alerted to a suspected case of theft in Changi Airport Terminal 3 at 2.25pm on June 2. A purse had allegedly been stolen from a Furla retail outlet in the Departure Transit area. Officers from the Airport Police Division were able to identify and locate the two Indian nationals, aged 29 and 30, within an hour of the crime through CCTV footage, and were subsequently detained before they could leave Singapore. Upon further investigation, police found a new black haversack and a new bottle of perfume in the luggage of the second woman, which were later found to have been stolen from a different store. The police said in a statement that they were alerted to a suspected theft involving a purse stolen from the Furla retail outlet located Changi Airport Terminal 3's departure transit area on June 2 at about 2.25pm. Officers from the Airport Police Division identified the two women with the aid of CCTV cameras. They were located within one hour of the report and detained before they could depart from Singapore.
