Ohio gubernatorial candidate
Vivek Ramaswamy
has made a significant donation to a GiveSendGo fundraiser supporting a woman named Holly, who was assaulted during a violent mob attack in downtown Cincinnati.
The incident, which went viral, showed Holly being punched while trying to help another victim during the chaotic street brawl.
American commentator and YouTuber Benny Johnson shared a screenshot of Ramaswamy's donation, writing on X, "Wow. @VivekGRamaswamy just made an incredibly generous donation to Holly's GiveSendGo. Thank you to all who've shown up for her. 100% goes to Holly."
The fundraiser has now surpassed $100,000 in donations.
"We have now officially raised $100,000 for Holly in just one night. This is one of the most successful GiveSendGo campaigns in history," Johnson posted earlier.
Ramaswamy had earlier condemned the attack and criticised the absence of police and emergency services.
Earlier, in a post on X, he wrote, "It's unconscionable that there were no police present in that area of Cincinnati on a Friday night, or even an ambulance to take her to the hospital.

Hard-working Americans shouldn't have to worry for their safety when they have a good time in our cities.'
He added that Holly, a single working mother, told him no public official aside from one detective had contacted her. "Leftists like to lecture about 'systemic injustice' while thugs turn our cities into war zones. I'm done with their excuses," Ramaswamy said.
If elected in the coming year, Ramaswamy declared, "We're going to set an example for what that looks like in Ohio."
The viral video of the incident shows a man being chased into the street, shoved to the ground, and beaten by a crowd.
One individual body-slams him while others kick and stomp him. As the man tries to get up, a woman, later identified as Holly, rushes to help, only to be punched twice in the face.
She collapses to the pavement, hitting her head and bleeding from the mouth as the crowd continues to cheer.
The clip has sparked outrage and renewed calls for better safety and policing in urban areas.

Over Rs 1cr compensation for triple rider who suffered 100% disability in accident

Panchkula: In a landmark ruling, the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal in Panchkula has awarded a compensation of ₹1.17 crore to a 36-year-old man who suffered 100% disability after a horrific road accident while triple riding on a two-wheeler. The tribunal, presided over by District and Sessions Judge Ved Parkash Sirohi, held the car's driver, owner, and insurer jointly liable for the payout. The victim is also entitled to 6% annual interest on the compensation amount from the date of filing the claim until its realization. The accident occurred in the early hours of April 28, 2024, when Arun Madan was riding an Activa with Veer and Sitaram as pillion passengers. As they approached the Kalka-Shimla highway, a car driven recklessly by Amrinder Singh Dhiman of Sangrur allegedly came from the wrong side and rammed into the scooter. All three riders were injured, and the vehicle was badly damaged. Amrinder transported the injured to Civil Hospital, Sector 6, Panchkula. While Veer and Sitaram were discharged after first aid, Arun was referred to GMCH, Sector 32, Chandigarh, but was instead taken to Alchemist Hospital, Sector 21, Panchkula. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Woman sells ring given by ex, then jeweler tells her 'This can't be true' Daily Sport X Undo The police registered a case against the car driver under relevant IPC sections at Pinjore police station. Arun, who was employed as an assistant manager in a Baddi-based firm earning ₹78,739 per month, suffered severe head injuries and is now bedridden. His medical expenses alone amounted to ₹12 lakh. Arun filed a claim of ₹2 crore, citing permanent disability and loss of livelihood. The car's driver and owner denied the accident, alleging collusion with police. The insurer, New India Assurance Co. Ltd., argued that the accident was caused by the negligence of the Activa rider, who was triple riding without a valid license. However, the tribunal found Veer—a key eyewitness and FIR author—credible. Supporting documents, including medical records and mechanical reports, further strengthened Arun's case.

PO on the mic: Singer who called govt house a jail busted after 10 years

1 2 Chandigarh: Declared a proclaimed offender in 2016, Sirsa resident Jagsir Singh evaded police for nine years by constantly changing his location and identity. However, his run ended with a dramatic revelation on Wednesday — he is Punjabi singer Baaz Sran, who just two months ago released a song likening a 'Sarkari Kothi' (govt residence) to a jail. In an irony of sorts, the lyrics of the song 'Sarkari Kothi' — which has 13 lakh views on YouTube — go: 'Jattan di sarkari kothi hundi jail kuddey (The official residence of Jatts is jail, lady).' Sran, who has 32,600 followers on Instagram and has sung duets with female singers like Deepak Dhillon and Gurlez Akhtar, was arrested by the Chandigarh zonal unit of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in connection with the alleged seizure of 36kg opium in 2015. Sran hails from Malikpura village in Haryana's Sirsa district. An official privy to the case said Baaz himself penned the lyrics and composed his songs. In May 2025, NCB published Jagsir's details in leading newspapers and announced a reward of Rs 50,000 for information leading to his arrest. Based on inputs received thereafter, he was arrested on Wednesday, the NCB said in a statement. The statement added: "During his absconding period, he gained popularity as a singer on social media platforms like YouTube and Instagram, amassing millions of views under a different identity. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Learn More - How Donating Plasma May Boost Your Income SpellRock Undo " At the time of his arrest, Sran was accompanied by a woman, said an official. The official added that a co-accused in the opium seizure had already been convicted. The official added that though Sran had was facing a drug seizure case, he did not consume them. "He is a fitness freak. He had just finished running and was exercising when we nabbed him. While he was involved in the drugs case and promotes drugs and weapons in the songs, he himself does not consume drugs," added the official. 'Sarkari Kothi': A song about life of crime In the song 'Sarkari Kothi', Baaz Sran has also penned lyrics about facing charges under the Arms Act and an 'attempt to murder' charge against him. The lyrics go: "25, 54, 59 laggi naal 307 de ni, jail diyaan baahlian likhiyaan karman vich jatt de di (I have been charged with sections 25, 54 and 59, along with Section 307. A long stay in jail is written in Jatt's fate)."

Janmashtami to be celebrated at every police station: Yogi

1 2 Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said Janmashtami would be celebrated at every police station and police training institute in the state on Aug 16. "The occasion would provide trainees with an opportunity to showcase their cultural and artistic talents, making the festival a symbol of cultural unity," Yogi made this announcement during his visit to Moradabad where he inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 87 development projects worth Rs 1,172 crore. Accusing the Samajwadi Party of having tried to restrict Janmashtami celebrations when it was in power, Yogi said his govt would ensure grand celebrations across the state. Referring to the result of the Kundarki bypoll held in Nov 2024, where BJP trumped the SP candidate in a Muslim majority area, the CM called it Moradabad's rejection of SP's and Congress' divisive politics. "The public chose satisfaction over appeasement, leading to the forfeiture of SP-Congress deposits," he said. Highlighting the global recognition which Moradabad's handicraft are getting, the CM said "It was the commitment of BJP's double-engine government to elevate the city and its products on the world stage. Once known for chaos and hooliganism, Moradabad is now renowned for its excellent handicrafts and brass items under the ODOP scheme, exporting products worth Rs 11,000 to Rs 15,000 crore." He added that Moradabad's artists, including one who received a Padma award, are working tirelessly to realise Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a self-reliant India.
