Newbie goes big on the UK with six more openings

Fashion Network09-05-2025

Kappahl Group's Newbie brand is continuing its 'ambitious' international growth, intensifying its presence in the UK with several new store openings planned for 2025.
The Swedish babies/children/women's brand will increase the number of UK stores from seven to 13 this year, the first scheduled to open in The Glades shopping centre in Bromley, south London, on 22 May. This will be followed by a store opening in Windsor (5 June) and then four as-yet unnamed 'strategic locations across the London area'.
These follow store openings in Canary Wharf, Brent Cross and Guilford in 2024.
Kappahl Group said the expansion is part of the company's long-term growth strategy 'where the focus is on a three-pillar strategy of establishing a presence in key markets, meeting increased demand and creating inspiring in-store experiences'.
It added that Newbie's success is 'built on creating an inspiring shopping environment and on its firm focus on sustainability, characterised by quality, timeless design and a nostalgic style'.
This month also sees the launch of new Summer Fields collection, which coincides with the new store opening. The collection features strawberry prints and gingham checks in soft pink, yellow, and green.
In addition to children's clothing, Newbie also offers a Newbie Woman collection, providing matching outfits for mothers and children, 'enhancing the brand's appeal to families'.
And the Newbie Room Collection further diversifies the product range, featuring storage solutions and decorative items that transform children's spaces into imaginative environments.
Thomas Kusoffsky, vice-president at Newbie, said: 'The British market is exciting and full of potential, and we are eagerly looking forward to continuing our growth journey here.
'The UK is an important market in our global expansion strategy, as we aim to also establish the Newbie brand in more markets across Europe. At the beginning of 2025, we launched our online store in Germany.'

Crew Clothing is returning to Belfast with new Victoria Square store

British lifestyle brand Crew Clothing is returning to Belfast, Northern Ireland, with a new store scheduled to open on 19 June. The 1,000 sq ft space in Victoria Square Shopping Centre will be joining Crew's extensive portfolio of high-street stores that's expected to increase further this year. The new location follows the recent opening of three new Crew Clothing stores in Chiswick in London, Altrincham in Greater Manchester, and Cheltenham in Gloucestershire, earlier this year. The new opening 'will bring a slice of coastal-inspired style to Northern Ireland, with the very latest collections available to purchase in store, including its new, wider sportswear ranges. Crew Clothing's head of Marketing, Naomi Parry, said: 'We're delighted to be returning to Belfast with a brand new, even better location. It's a really exciting time for the brand at the moment, and we have an ambitious store opening strategy for 2025. 'We know there are already so many fans of Crew in Belfast, and we can't wait to welcome them to the new store, along with new customers.' Just this week, Crew Clothing launched its new Crew Sports line offering a wide, versatile selection of men's and women's pieces, targeting a variety of sports and fitness activities.
