Workington Reds fixtures for new 2025/26 season revealed
The Reds now know their calendar for the new Northern Premier League Premier Division campaign.
Competitive action in Darren Edmondson's second spell in charge gets under way with the visit of Whitby, who finished level on points with 12th-placed Workington last season but four places below the west Cumbrians on goal difference.
The Seasiders, managed by the former Carlisle United defender Gary Liddle, will visit Workington on Saturday, August 9.
Workington's first away game comes four days later with a Tuesday night trip to Stockton Town, with their first Saturday away trip the following weekend at Hednesford Town.
August continues with home games against Warrington Rylands and Ashton United on Bank Holiday weekend before the month ends with an FA Cup first qualifying round tie.
Reds' festive period fixtures include an away trip on Boxing Day to newly-promoted Cleethorpes Town – entailing a 414-mile round trip for Edmondson's side and their longest trip of the campaign.
On New Year's Day the Reds host Lancaster City.
Easter weekend sees an Easter Saturday trip to Warrington Rylands and an Easter Monday home clash with Cleethorpes, while the Reds' final game is at home to Leek Town on April 25.
Reds say the latter will 'probably' be played at Derwent Park, amid plans for the demolition of part of Borough Park and the creation of the new Cumberland Sports Village.

Few could have seriously predicted a summer spend of just under $400 million, or around £300M. The arrivals of Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez and Hugo Ekitike are statement signings on the back of such a convincing title win - and they could still be eclipsed by Alexander Isak's potential deal. Should Newcastle United's stance soften, then Liverpool is likely to make its move despite already landing a new No. 9. But for all the hype, the squad remains light in two key departments. Center-back is the most obvious given Trey Nyoni, Andy Robertson and Wataru Endo all started at the heart of defense during Monday's double header against Athletic Bilbao. Luis Diaz's departure and the expected exit of Federico Chiesa leaves the Reds with just two recognized senior wingers in Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo. Should it happen, it's a deal that would make sense for Liverpool given its lack of options in the wide areas, while Barcola would fit into the age range and talent required to pique FSG's interest. That he has fallen out of Luis Enrique's first-choice XI is another factor worth considering. On the surface, it seems more practical to add a winger above a striker - although that stance could shift if Darwin Nunez leaves in the next few days. A common question over recent weeks has been how Liverpool can afford such a lavish outlay this window. Those in the know on the complex topics of PSR, SCR, and FFP have repeatedly insisted Liverpool's finances are so healthy that concluding a deal for Isak remains possible.
