
Two killed, 6 injured as lightning strikes in Mirzapur
Lucknow: At least two persons lost their lives and six others were injured due to lightning strikes in Mirzapur district on Wednesday. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed sorrow at the deaths, offered his condolences to the bereaved families, and prayed for the peace of the departed souls.
The CM also instructed officials that relief amounts should be immediately distributed to the families of the deceased and that proper treatment be provided to those injured in the disaster.
A govt spokesperson said that the two deceased were minor sisters, 10-year-old Sadhna and 11-year-old Khushboo. Six others were injured, and three of them were admitted to the Halia Community Health Centre for treatment. The incident occurred while everyone was sitting under a Neem tree outside their home.
Dr Kameshwar Tiwari from Halia Community Health Centre stated that eight people were brought to the hospital due to the lightning strike, with two young girls succumbing to their injuries. Six people are injured, three of them seriously, but all are out of danger.
Upon receiving information about the incident, Lalganj SDM Sanjeev Kumar Yadav visited the hospital to check on the injured. He announced that govt assistance would be provided to the families of the deceased, and the bodies were sent for post-mortem.
