Two women arrested for $1,725 theft at Fond du Lac Kohl's
FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) – Police in Fond du Lac say two women were arrested Sunday afternoon after they allegedly stole merchandise estimated to be valued at $1,725 from a Kohl's retail store.
According to a release from the Fond du Lac Police Department, officers responded at 2:35 p.m. to the area near the West Johnson Street and North Pioneer Road intersection after Flock license plate recognition cameras sent an alert for a vehicle believed to be connected to a retail theft in Winnebago County.
Officials say they were able to find the suspect vehicle as it exited the Kohl's parking lot in Fond du Lac and attempted to conduct a traffic stop as it began to enter onto I-41 South.

The driver of the vehicle reportedly refused to pull over at first, leading to a pursuit that ended once the vehicle eventually pulled over north of South Military Road.
Following the pursuit, two women from Madison, a 40-year-old and a 26-year-old, were arrested by Fond du Lac police on charges of felony retail theft, with the 40-year-old driver facing additional charges related to the pursuit.
This incident highlights the effectiveness of technology like Flock license plate recognition systems in supporting real-time policing and inter-agency collaboration. Thanks to the alert and the coordinated efforts of our Officers and partnering agencies, we were able to safely apprehend the suspects and prevent further criminal activity in our Fond du Lac community.

After the arrests were made, it was confirmed by police with Kohl's that the two women allegedly entered the store, filled two store-branded bags with merchandise valued at $1,725, and left without paying.

SOUTH SIOUX CITY, Neb. (KCAU) — A pursuit suspect was shot at during a pursuit in a stolen vehicle Sunday afternoon. According to the Dakota County Sheriff's Office, a pursuit ensued in Dakota County at around 1:45 p.m. on Sunday after the sheriff's office spotted a white Honda Accord in the area of Highway 35 and Highway 110. This vehicle had been spotted by a FLOCK camera and had been involved in a prior eluding incident. After hitting the patrol vehicle, the suspect then drove toward a South Sioux City police officer, who fired a shot from their gun at the suspect vehicle. The suspect made their way into Iowa where they eventually crashed into three other vehicles while trying to wedge their way through a stoplight. In total, the pursuit lasted for about 15 minutes, officials said. The suspect in the pursuit was arrested and identified as Benjamin Horn, of Winnebago, Nebraska. Officials said that the vehicle had been identified as a car that had previously been stolen out of Winnebago two days prior to the incident. Horn is currently being held in the Woodbury County Jail on charges of reckless driving, not having a driver's license, improper use of lanes, and failure to provide security against liability. The release said that he also has a warrant in Nebraska for charges that including felony flight to avoid arrest, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, willfull reckless driving, driving under suspension, and sixty-six counts of traffic violations in connection with the pursuit on the Nebraska side. Two men are in custody and one is on the loose after an early-morning burglary in Bonney Lake, according to police. Mark Berry, police chief for the Bonney Lake Police Department, told The News Tribune the burglary happened at a local pharmacy at about 3:20 a.m. on Monday. When The News Tribune asked him for the name of the pharmacy, he declined to answer but said it is in the area of 204th Avenue East and state Route 410. Berry said the suspects were three men. When police showed up at the pharmacy, they saw one of the men flee out the window and the two other men drive away in a white SUV, he said. Berry said investigators used the city's Flock license plate camera system 'to identify the suspect vehicle and put that information out.' A K9 from the Puyallup Police Department found the three men driving at 13th Street Southeast and Pioneer Way East in Puyallup, Berry said. The three men then ran out of the car and officers used a drone and a K9 to find two of the suspects, who are now in custody. The third is still at large. 'After a search warrant on the vehicle, we recovered several bags of stolen prescription narcotics from the pharmacy, as well as burglary tools,' Berry said. 'We are currently working with other agencies in the area who have reported similar burglaries.' Berry said the third man was last seen wearing all-black clothing and a mask.
