
Man, 38, gunned down on Brooklyn street
Cops responding to a report of a shooting at Pilling St. and Broadway in Bedford Stuyvesant at about 1:20 a.m. found the victim shot in the stomach.
EMS rushed the victim to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, where he died an hour later. Police did not disclose his name as they tracked down his family.
The gunman, described as a dark-skinned man with a green jacket, ran off and was last seen running south on Bushwick Ave.
Cops searching the area found the suspect's green jacket, along with a gun and one shell casing outside a home on Bushwick Ave. around the corner from the shooting.
No arrests have been made.
Cops remained at the crime scene Friday morning, looking over a black Jeep Cherokee with several bullet holes.
It was not immediately disclosed what sparked the shooting.
The killing comes as the city celebrated a 23% drop in shootings for the first three months of the year compared to the same period last year, from 182 incidents down to 140, cops said.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) — The NYPD is asking for assistance in locating a suspect wanted in connection with a brutal attempted rape in Hell's Kitchen early Sunday morning. Woman killed, another jailed in Saline County crash
BROOKVILLE, Kan. (KSNW) — A woman has been killed in a crash in Saline County. The Saline County Sheriff's Office reports it happened shortly after 5:30 a.m. on K-140 Highway near Reese Road, east of Brookville. Captain Jim Hughes says a Jeep Cherokee crashed into a pickup truck at the intersection. Here's why flags will be lowered in Kansas Monday The driver of the Jeep, a 32-year-old woman, fled the scene. A passenger in the pickup, identified as 55-year-old Deanna Sommerfeld of Brookville, was pronounced dead at the scene. The 32-year-old woman was later found at a home in Ellsworth shortly before 8:30 a.m. She has been booked into the Saline County Jail on charges of second-degree murder, failure to report an injury accident, circumvention of an ignition interlock device, and probation violation. Elderly Jeep driver crashes into pedestrian and building in Northern California, police say
( — A pedestrian was injured and a Northern California business sustained damage after an elderly Jeep driver crashed into them, according to the Galt Police Department. On Tuesday afternoon, GPD officers responded to a report of a vehicle collision involving a structure and a pedestrian at CVS Pharmacy, located at 1063 C Street. When officers arrived at the scene, they determined that an 81-year-old woman, the sole occupant of a Jeep Cherokee, attempted to park in a space in front of the business.
