The proposal, put forward by McTaggart Construction and Jackton Estates Ltd, includes plans to build up to 250 affordable homes.
It also features neighbourhood retail, new vehicular and pedestrian access, peat restoration, open space, landscaping, parking and associated infrastructure.
The site is located at Langlands West, Auldhouse Road.
A public consultation is currently underway, with a second in-person exhibition event scheduled for June 19.
This will take place at St Vincent de Paul's Catholic Church, Tinto Way, East Kilbride, from 3pm to 7pm.
Residents can also view the exhibition material online and submit feedback via a questionnaire at mctaggartconst.wixsite.com/langlands-west.
Comments can be made at the event, online, or in writing to Savills, Planning, 163 West George Street, Glasgow, G2 2JJ.
It is important to note that this notice does not relate to a live planning application.
Comments at this stage should be directed to the project team, not South Lanarkshire Council.
Any feedback provided now will not be considered as formal representations to the planning authority.
Should a planning application be submitted in the future, South Lanarkshire Council will undertake a normal neighbour notification process.
This will provide an opportunity for formal representations to be made.

Clyde Gateway has unveiled a £500m ($668.5m) master plan to revolutionise more than 100 hectares of land in Glasgow and South Lanarkshire, Scotland, establishing a significant hub for innovation and green growth. The 'Clyde Gateway Innovation' programme, announced at the UK Real Estate Investment & Infrastructure Forum in Leeds, England, is set to foster a mixed-use zone dedicated to manufacturing, life sciences, and sustainability. The proposals include commercial and lab-enabled office space, two hotels, and approximately 450 homes. The initiative is supported Glasgow City Council, South Lanarkshire Council, Scottish Enterprise, and academic collaborators such as the University of Strathclyde.
