All five episodes of 'chilling' Netflix top 10 crime thriller streaming now
Netflix's new thriller Baby Farm has taken the streamer by storm, debuting at number six in the UK's top 10 TV shows.
The five-episode Nollywood drama was recently added to the streaming platform globally.
It follows The Evans Foundation, run by expatriate Dr. Oliver Evans and his devoted wife, Sister Barb, which is an organisation claiming to 'help the community'.
The synopsis continues: 'But beneath their benevolent appearances lies a sinister operation that exploits women for profit,' as the TV show title indicates with its disturbing connotations.
The Nigerian crime drama, starring Rita Dominic and Joseph Benjamin, focuses on the story of a pregnant Adanna (Onyinye Odokoro) who is saved from the streets of Lagos by the charitable organisation but soon realises that everything is not as it seems.

Black Film Wire described the show – which some have compared to shows like The Handmaid's Tale – as a 'five-episode Nigerian crime thriller that doesn't just rattle your nerves, it leaves them in a puddle on the floor.'
'The series draws chilling parallels to real-life horrors, grounded by a powerful performance from Onyinye Odokoro as Adanna, a woman pushed to the edge, yet never backing down.
'But it's Genoveva Umeh that left me cold. Her portrayal of Ebun isn't just haunting—it's the kind of performance that burrows under your skin and refuses to leave: layered, grounded, and absolutely haunting,' the publication added.

Although you'll have to decide for yourself whether this show keeps you 'captivated' with some reviews calling it 'unoriginal' and 'too restrained'.

Azealia Banks has announced that she will no longer be performing Boomtown of Maiden Voyage after 'dealing with threats' from organisers. The controversial American rapper, 34, took to social media to claim that she was being forced to say she supports Palestine or be cut from the lineup, a claim the promoters deny. Boomtown confirmed in a statement to Metro that they have not, and would not, dictate the beliefs of performers. 'Following her post on X in the early hours of this morning, we can confirm that Azealia Banks has withdrawn from the lineup and will no longer be performing at Boomtown Festival. 'For clarity, Boomtown does not and will never dictate the personal views and beliefs of performers,' a spokesperson said. The festival announced in January 2024 that it would be fundraising for Medical Aid for Palestinians, and an optional donation was put on all ticket purchases. The festival is set to take place from August 6 to August 10 at the Matterly Estate, Hampshire. Maiden Voyage Festival will take place on August 9 in Burgess Park, London. The change in lineup comes just weeks after Banks took to social media to claim that she was a Zionist. 'It should all be Israel. Palestine cannot support itself without help from other countries so the people should just leave or become naturalised Israelis,' she shared on X. 'Palestine is not a country. The area is called JUDEA for a reason.' The star has become known for her controversial comments, and throughout her career has been accused of homophobia, transphobia and xenophobia towards a variety of different nationalities. Notably, the star has shared a number of rants on X and Instagram, taking aim at various celebrities including Zayn Malik, Skai Jackson, and Kanye West. Netflix fans only have days left to watch 'best ever' romcom
The film will soon be removed from the streaming platform Netflix fans have just days left to enjoy an acclaimed romcom before it is removed from screens. Notting Hill, which premiered in 1999 starring Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant, has been a favourite amongst viewers since its introduction. The plot revolves around bookseller William Thacker, portrayed by Hugh Grant, whose life is upended after meeting famed actress Anna Scott, played by Julia Roberts. The film has been branded as a "must watch for anyone" and is currently available on Netflix, but fans will need to hurry as the title is set to disappear soon. Netflix has warned that the last day to watch will be July 5. The Netflix synopsis reads "A chance encounter brings together reserved bookstore owner William Thacker and Hollywood icon Anna Scott, who forge an improbable romance." With an 84% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the reviews continue to pour in. One fan said: "It's perfect .. one of the best rom coms of all time." reports Surrey Live. Another echoed: "An absolutely amazing film, full of love, laughter and much more! A must watch for anyone." One commented: "All time fav movie," while another added: "One of the all time great rom coms. Writing and acting at the highest level." One fan penned: "Love it. I've rewatched it a few times and I don't really rewatch movies. The chemistry between the two is really nice. It's a fantasy everyone has of a chance encounter with a famous person, and then falling in love with them. "The movie brilliantly captures that. It's v cute with the right amount of twists and turns." On Google reviews, one fan echoed: "I'm not a fan of romantic comedies, so when a good one comes along, I tend to take special notice of it. This movie seriously needs to be considered among the best ever made of its genre." One viewer disagreed, writing: "Saw this in the theater with my (then) wife and some friends. I did not even crack a smile during the entirety of the movie." Another added: "A waste of two hours!
