Some customers say they are keeping hard copies to show how frequently they're getting 'zero balance' sheets as proof.
They say they want the receipts so that when this finally gets fixed, they're paying the correct amount.
Beavercreek resident Marsha Leonard said she hasn't made a payment to AES Ohio since mid-March.
'What's going on? What's the problem, and is it going to happen again, and am I going to have an accurate reading when I do get a bill?' Leonard said.

A 49-year-old Marietta man faces 170 years in prison after he was convicted of fraud. [DOWNLOAD: Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] On Friday, a jury convicted Carl Delano Torjagbo, AKA Karl Lucius Delano Torjagbo, 49, of Marietta, of bank fraud, wire fraud, and money laundering. According to court documents, on February 13, 2021, Torjagbo submitted two tax returns to the IRS. Each tax return had a different social security number and date of birth. The counterfeit tax returns showed that Torjagbo had millions of dollars in losses that offset earnings from his African gold mine business, Kremkov Industries, the Department of Justice said. This resulted in the U.S. Treasury issuing a check for $3,366,240.76 to Torjagbo. Court documents revealed that Torjagbo erifited that the company was opened on February 15, 2020. The 38-year-old said he had 493 employees who reside across the U.S., and had an average monthly payroll of nearly $4 million. In March 2021, Torjagbo received $9.6 million in a PPP loan. Officials said he used the PPP loan and tax refund to purchase the following: $1,677,861.01 for his home; $332,999.80 for a 2014 Lamborghini Aventador; $120,799.79 for a 2022 BMW M850xi; $90,520 for a 2021 Land Rover Range Rover Velar; $51,000 for the down payment on a 72-foot yacht; Over $1,000,000 for real estate, trucks, and trailers to start a new business; More than $15,000 for plastic surgery. State report: MARTA escalator had missing parts during mishap that hurt Beyoncé fans
A new state report shows that a MARTA escalator was missing several parts before multiple people were injured while leaving a Beyoncé concert. A report by the Office of Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner says that three drive belts were found missing from the escalator's top drive motor and another was missing from the bottom drive motor. However, the OCI report says it was unclear if the belts were missing at the time of the incident or if they came off due to the incident. Six others were treated on the scene for injuries, according to the OCI report. As it examined the bottom drive motor, OCI said a fourth belt was also found off the pulley, and two others had 'walked to the top side of the pulleys.' The report says the high passenger volume that night and the motor drive belts missing 'would have caused an over-normal operating speed condition, leading to the injuries' experienced by 13 people. According to the investigation, the MARTA escalator malfunctioned as 'several patrons rush[ed] toward' it while trying to avoid an insect, according to MARTA police. The sudden increase of people on the escalator made the equipment 'jerk, speed up, and eventually stop, causing multiple injuries' to those who were on the escalator at the time, the report says. The escalator remains shut down for repairs, which were approved to move forward. Another inspection of the escalator will happen before it is returned to service. ‘Pretty crazy;' Family sees electric bill nearly double, AES Ohio asking for rate increase
A local family said their AES Ohio bill has nearly doubled. [DOWNLOAD: Free WHIO-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] Amanda Collins, who lives in a two-bedroom house, reported that her electricity bill rose from just under $200 to nearly $400. 'That was pretty crazy for us,' Collins said. Mary-Ann Kabel, a spokesperson for AES Ohio, explained that increased air conditioning usage during hotter months contributes to higher bills. AES Ohio has requested a rate increase, which could lead to higher costs depending on individual usage. Kabel suggested using high electricity devices like dryers, ovens, and dishwashers at night to help reduce costs. Collins found a solution by using third-party companies to negotiate her electricity rates, which helped cut her bill in half. 'It's usually about every three months I'm going on there and changing, like the third-party provider on their rates,' Collins said. On Aug. 7 and Aug. 14, the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio has scheduled public hearings regarding AES Ohio's application to increase electric rates.
