11 taken to hospital after Llangollen Eisteddfod incident
Llangollen International Eisteddfod issued a subsequent update - stating that scheduled events will continue as normal today, with the grounds open from 9am.
Public Health Wales (PHW) has since issued a statement on the matter - confirming that a "small group of children" fell ill and were taken to hospital.
Today, Dr Giri Shankar, Director of Health Protection for Public Health Wales said: 'The visitors to the Llangollen International Eisteddfod who were assessed in hospital last night will be discharged this morning.
"Tests carried out on these children have indicated the presence of common respiratory viruses, including flu. They are being treated appropriately and are recovering. The risk to the public remains low."
Now, the Welsh Ambulance Service has confirmed that 11 people were taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital following the incident.
They said: "We were called yesterday (Wednesday, July 9) at 4.49pm to reports that a number of people had been taken ill at Llangollen International Eisteddfod.
'We sent a number of resources to the event and worked closely with the event's own medical team to manage the incident, which we later declared as an 'extraordinary incident' due to the number of people presenting with symptoms."

They added: 'Liaising closely with Public Health Wales, we transported 11 people to Wrexham Maelor Hospital.
'The extraordinary incident was stood down just after 8pm.'
Events are back up and running at the Eisteddfod today.
In the pavilion, guests can expect to see the Instrumental ensemble competition get underway. With a wonderful variety of ensembles from all over the world it is sure to get you ready for a full day of competitions.

The International Voice of Musical Theatre Final is also taking place. This competition is for singers aged 18 and over and the prestigious prize is intended to advance the career of an amateur musical theatre performer.
Taking place between 4.30pm and 7pm, Rhys Mwyn will feature the phenomenal talents of Pedair, Mared, and Buddug – three standout names in contemporary Welsh music.
Tonight from 7.30pm , BRIT Award-winning and Grammy-nominated artist KT Tunstall will be marking the 20th anniversary of her ground-breaking multi-million selling debut album 'Eye to the Telescope', with a special one-off performance with live orchestra, for the first time anywhere in the world.

Sam Rowlands MS 'proud' to be Welsh after Eisteddfod
MS for North Wales It was great to see Wrexham in the national spotlight last week as it played host to one of the biggest festivals in Europe. I was delighted to have the opportunity to visit the National Eisteddfod 2025, held at Isycoed just five miles from the city centre and experience the wonderful celebration of our Welsh language and culture. I met with so many people who were singing the praises of the way the event was organised and how it offered a wonderful variety of things to do and see. As a Welsh learner it was great to have the chance to try out my skills and engage with others thanks to support and friendly advice on the Maes. There was also live translation for some events so that everyone was able to enjoy the spectacle, including non-speakers. The Welsh Language is an important part of our national identity and culture and the Eisteddfod is a great event to celebrate all that Wales has to offer. It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase this part of Wales and organisers will have been delighted with the number of visitors it attracted from far and wide. The event simply had everything you need to promote our beautiful country and of course the fact that it was being held in North Wales was also a great boost for my region. There was something for all the family at the Eisteddfod from music, entertainment and exhibitions to the ultimate Crowning ceremony with the Gorsedd of the Bards keeping alive our rich heritage. I was also very pleased to see all the different organisations working together to make this event such a huge success. I am proud to be Welsh and delighted to have been able to support this great cultural event and I am sure visitors will have been very impressed to see what Wrexham and surrounding areas have to offer. Temporary helipad for hospital set to be installed at historic Gwynedd estate

More info An historic Gwynedd estate known for hosting royals, music stars and VIPs looks set to provide a helicopter landing pad for a Bangor hospital. Cyngor Gwynedd has received a full application for the temporary change of use of a pasture within the historic Vaynol Estate - known in Welsh as Parc y Faenol. The planning application says this is to provide "a temporary helicopter landing location for Ysbyty Gwynedd". Get all the latest Gwynedd news by signing up to our newsletter - sent every Tuesday. A green infrastructure statement states this is to "support the logistics of the associated development for a new (permanent) helicopter landing pad at Ysbyty Gwynedd". It adds: "It is therefore proposed to provide a temporary landing location to the west of the hospital, to be used for the duration of the development while the primary helipad cannot be used (approximately two years)." (Image: Google Map) The new landing pad would be "in use intermittently, but 24/7 access will be required given the nature of the use," a statement from TACP Architects on behalf of Ysbyty Gwynedd's Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board stated. It said: "The proposed location for the temporary landing site is on an existing pasture to be rented by the hospital for the duration of its use." The proposal also notes that the helipad development will not include external lighting or wind socks. The proposal states: "The only development works anticipated for this will be a temporary access route to allow emergency vehicles to drive up to the aircraft. "This will be formed from a temporary grass track way system which would be removed on completion of the new helipad at the hospital." (Image: Google Map) It also notes in steps to mitigate impact on biodiversity and eco-systems, that "the proposed development is only temporary and following completion of the main development on the hospital site, the pasture can return to its original use". It adds: "While the pasture is temporarily occupied, the impact on the field will be minimal and reversible." Over the years the Vaynol Hall has hosted royals, VIPs and politicians, including Queen Elizabeth II, the Queen Mother, Princess Margaret, Lord Snowdon and Prime Minister Harold Macmillan. The site has also been used for popular events and festivals, including concerts with Welsh opera star Bryn Terfel, it has hosted the Eisteddfod and has been the location for the Welsh Game Fair. According to the Coflein government website, Vaynol Park was laid out in the 1820s but occupies a site with a longer history of construction and landscape design, and was originally a possession of the Bishops of Bangor. The Vaynol Old Hall dates from the sixteenth century and was replaced on a nearby site by the larger Vaynol Hall in the late eighteenth century by Thomas Assheton, who established the park, initially as a fox-hunting estate.
