Building a Company in College
Away from the Film World
While many from film families naturally gravitate towards the entertainment industry, Anoushka Ranjit—niece of Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu—has carved her own professional identity far from the arc lights. At just 22, she has already co-founded a student-run company and is well on her way to becoming a legal professional. Anoushka Ranjit is the daughter of veteran Hindi film actress Shilpa Shirodkar , who made her debut in 1989 and went on to appear in several successful films through the 1990s. Shilpa is the younger sister of Namrata Shirodkar, former Miss India and actress, who is married to Mahesh Babu . Despite her family's deep roots in cinema, Anoushka chose a different direction.Born in the United Kingdom to Shilpa and her banker husband Aparesh Ranjit—who holds a double MBA—Anoushka has spent much of her life focused on academics and entrepreneurship Anoushka's academic journey began at North London Collegiate School in Dubai, where she earned her high school diploma between 2017 and 2021. During her time there, she demonstrated leadership and initiative, founding both the Politics Society and Babel Magazine. She was also an active member of the school's Charity Committee. In 2020, she furthered her academic exposure through a Global Leadership Summer Course in Politics and International Relations at Oxford Royale Academy. That experience paved the way for her enrollment at the University of St Andrews in Scotland, where she is currently pursuing a Master of Arts degree in International Relations and Modern History. Additionally, reports confirm that she is also studying law at the University of Law in London. While still a student, Anoushka co-founded Pulse Creative Collective in March 2023. The initiative began by organizing community-focused events in St Andrews and rapidly expanded to include radio programming, magazine production, and creative collaboration platforms. Within the first 10 months, the company reportedly generated over £8,000 in profit and scaled its operations from 5 to 65 team members across seven departments. In parallel, Anoushka served as a student representative at the University of St Andrews and worked as a mentor for incoming undergraduates. She has also undertaken internships, including a legal role at Greenko Group in Hyderabad and an earlier stint with VFS Global in Dubai.Although Anoushka once harbored dreams of acting, she ultimately prioritized academics and entrepreneurship over film. Her mother, Shilpa, who took a long break from acting to raise her, has often spoken about the importance of education—particularly noting in interviews with Pinkvilla that she herself did not finish high school, while her husband and daughter pursued rigorous academic paths.Despite staying out of the limelight, Anoushka shares a strong bond with her extended family. She is often seen spending time with her aunt Namrata Shirodkar and cousins, Sitara and Gautam Ghattamaneni. Her social media presence reflects her interests in fashion and travel, garnering admiration for her style and individuality.

X/Rekha Gupta Anupam Kher On How Tanvi The Great Is A Personal Story In an interview with NDTV, Anupam Kher shared that Tanvi The Great is a personal story as it draws inspiration from his maternal niece, Tanvi, who has autism. "This is a personal story. Tanvi is my maternal niece who is autistic. I was once here in Gurugram to attend my cousin's wedding. Tanvi was 13 at the time. People were singing and dancing, and they were having a lot of fun. "But Tanvi was standing all alone and looking at a mountain. I asked her, 'Tanvi, what are you doing?' And she said, 'I'm looking at my world'. That was a very heavy statement. I didn't understand what her world was, or maybe she wasn't able to make me understand what she was trying to say. That's how the seed of the story took root," the actor-filmmaker said. About Tanvi The Great The film also has two Oscar winners, the music director MM Keeravani and sound designer Resul Pookutty. The cinematographer of the film is Keiko Nakahara from Japan. The tale of Tanvi the Great revolves around a 21-year-old woman on the autism spectrum living with her mother and grandfather. Inspired by her deceased father, Captain Samar Raina, an Indian Army officer, she dreams of saluting the flag at Siachen Glacier. Anupam Kher has co-written the film along with Ankur Suman and Abhishek Dixit. Tanvi The Great also stars Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Jackie Shroff, Arvind Swami, Pallavi Joshi, Karan Tacker, Nassar, and Lain Glen of Game of Thrones fame. In A Nutshell

From heartthrob to leading man: Havish's bold turn in 'Nenu Ready'
When Havish made his debut with Nuvvila, he effortlessly slipped into the romantic hero mould. He emerged as the quintessential boy-next-door who was charming, affable and perfect for Telugu cinema's feel-good zone. But beneath the surface of early fame, Havish was quietly waiting for more. More than just songs and smiles, he was looking for substance. Today, over a decade into his career, that pursuit seems to have found its voice in Nenu Ready; a film he calls his most personal and grounded performance yet. Reflecting on his journey, Havish admits that his early career was shaped as much by opportunity as it was by instinct. 'I didn't have the luxury of saying no in the beginning,' he shares. 'After Nuvvila, people saw me a certain way — romantic, safe, familiar. But I wanted more. I wanted to break that image.' That break came with Genius, a film that offered emotional complexity and a narrative that pushed his boundaries. 'It was my first taste of doing something different, something that made me grow.' 'Today, I think I've become more patient, more open, and more aligned with the kind of stories I truly want to tell. I may have started by going with the flow, but somewhere along the way, I found my own voice — quiet, steady, and rooted in purpose,' he says. That mindset of seeking meaning over momentum has continued to define his choices. It's also what led him to Nenu Ready, a script he says struck a rare emotional chord. 'From the very first scene, I had this gut feeling. This one felt different,' he recalls. The film doesn't chase action, spectacle or trends. Instead, it dwells in the quiet beauty of everyday life. 'There was no single 'wow' moment. It was the entire arc that moved me — a journey built on sincerity, not gimmicks.' One of the most talked-about sequences from the teaser is the opening with Muddugare Yashoda, a soulful composition that sets the emotional tone. Havish credits the director and music team entirely for the idea. 'I heard it on set for the first time, and it just clicked. The music, the silence, the atmosphere — everything came together so organically. I didn't need to act much in that moment; the scene just carried itself.' A still from the Nenu Ready teaser What also sets Nenu Ready apart is its refusal to rely on a formula. There are no punch dialogues, no high-octane violence, and certainly no over-the-top heroism. 'Don't get me wrong, I love a good mass entertainer,' he laughs. 'I've even said I'd love to be in something like Akhanda! But that doesn't mean I want to do only that. I'm drawn to stories that speak to me. This one did — in the most unexpected, understated way.' Coincidentally, the film's teaser dropped on his birthday this year. 'Usually, my birthdays are just PR events at this point,' he jokes. 'Some poster gets released, and I smile for the cameras. But this year felt different. Nenu Ready wasn't just another film promotion — it felt like a genuine gift. A project I believe in, announced on a day that means something to me.' There's a quiet confidence about Havish now; not loud or flamboyant, but resolute. He's no longer chasing visibility; he's curating his journey. With Nenu Ready, he has opened a door to stories that matter, roles that resonate, and a style of storytelling that's more grounded in reality than glamour. As he moves forward, one thing is clear: Havish isn't here to follow formulas. He's here to rewrite them gently but firmly, one heartfelt performance at a time.
