What happened to Scottie Scheffler's caddie Ted Scott? World No 1 shuts down ‘missing' rumors
Scott, who has been Scheffler's trusted partner since late 2021 and was instrumental in 17 PGA Tour wins, including two Masters titles, has been absent since the final round of the St Jude Championship on August 10 due to a family emergency.

Scheffler confirmed that Scott remains in Louisiana, tending to the matter.
'Ted's where he needs to be right now, and I've been able to talk to him a few times. The family is in good spirits, everybody seems to be doing well.' He, however, did not get into specifics.
'I'm not going to answer anything like that. If that's why you came out here, you're not going to get much. I think caddying is probably the last thing on his mind, as it should be. I've been able to talk to him a few times. I'm not going to comment any further on anything going on with his family,' the World No. 1 added.

Where is Ted Scott?
The absence began when Scott left Memphis abruptly, replaced by Brad Payne for the St Jude finale, where Scheffler finished third. Michael Cromie, Chris Kirk's caddie, stepped in for the BMW Championship, and Scheffler has adapted, though Scott's return remains uncertain for the Tour Championship starting August 21 in Atlanta.
Rumors of a rift or health issues have circulated, but Scheffler's update suggests a personal matter, possibly a family health crisis.

Champion Keymer remains unbeaten; Pranesh clinches Challengers crown
German Vincent Keymer capped a memorable triumph in the Quantbox Chennai Grandmasters chess tournament 2025 with a convincing win in the final round of the Masters section over American GM Ray Robson here on Friday. As unstoppable as Keymer was in the tournament, Indian GM M. Pranesh emerged champion in the Challenger category, though he suffered a defeat at the hands of IM G.B. Harshavardhan in the ninth and final round. Pranesh was helped by the fact that title contenders Leon Luke Mendonca and Abhimanyu Puranik fell to B. Adhiban and Pa. Iniyan, respectively. In the Masters event, Keymer's defeat of Robson enabled him to finish unbeaten in the tournament (seven points). During his splendid run here, the 20-year-old also entered the top 10 in world ranking (live ratings) for the first time in his career. 'I think this is my best performance in a classical tournament. It's just a very nice feeling to play good chess, and the event has gone fantastically. I do have the habit of ruining very nice tournaments. I was dangerously close to repeating that same mistake yesterday [Thursday]. Very glad I didn't go that far,' said Keymer. Keymer pounced on a mid-game error from Robson to turn an equal game in his favour. The German GM then closed out the match quickly to register his fifth win of the championship. Meanwhile, Dutchman Anish Giri snapped his eight-game draw streak, outwitting compatriot Jorden van Foreest. The win allowed Anish to finish joint second, along with India's Arjun Erigaisi and Karthikeyan Murali, who played out a 49-move draw in the final round. Action in the Challengers section kept the goodly crowd interested for the major part of the day. After the thrills and spills and chaos, Pranesh was crowned the champion. The results: Ninth and final round: Masters: Arjun Erigaisi (5) drew with Karthikeyan Murali (5); Awonder Liang (USA, 4.5) drew with Vidit Gujrathi (4); Jorden van Foreest (Ned, 4) lost to Anish Giri (Ned, 5); Ray Robson (USA, 3) lost to Vincent Keymer (Ger, 7); Nihal Sarin (4.5) bt V. The 2022 World Cup winner will also meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence on December 15, and it will be his first trip to India since 2011. In 2011, he visited Kolkata with his national team to play a friendly against Venezuela at the Salt Lake Stadium. Promoter confirms Lionel Messi's visit Satadru Dutta, promoter of the event, told PTI, 'I got the authorisation and afterwards made it official (on social media). Messi will post any day between August 28 and September 1 with the official poster with all details and a small introduction of his tour.' The promoter met Messi's father, who is also his agent, earlier this year with the proposal. Meanwhile, he also met Messi on February 28 at his residence for a 45-minute meeting. 'I explained the plan and what we wanted to do. He seemed convinced it was worth it and committed to coming,' he said. It is also being reported that Messi could travel with Inter Miami teammates Rodrigo De Paul, Luis Suarez, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets, but that has not been confirmed yet. Messi will reach Kolkata on December 12. He will spend two days and one night there. Dutta said, 'He's a lover of mate (Argentine herbal tea), so I am doing a fusion of Argentine and Indian Assam tea. This will be an extra addition, to be held on the sidelines of the meet-and-greet event on December 13 morning at his hotel (Taj Bengal).' 'All Bengali fish, including hilsa, and sweet delicacies will be there on the platter for the food festival.' There will also be an unveiling of Messi's mural during the upcoming Durga Puja, where fans can post messages. 'Not only will he unveil his biggest-ever statue, we will have a huge mural (dimensions of 25 feet height and 20 feet width) for him, which will be kept at strategic Durga Puja pandal-hopping locations so that all his fans will have an opportunity to paint and post messages in a nearby message box. That mural will be presented to Messi when he's inside the stadium for the GOAT Concert,' he said.
